It is all making sense now. Honest living is one of the puzzle missing here for you oga. When I came across your contributions and Lamentations, I was incline to you being a taxi driver or in the shadow jobs with easy tax avoidance.

Nothing is ever enough for .....
Not an argument!!

Read my previous post , in fact most taxi drivers earn more than your average office folk.

Like I said before I've worked in several companies mostly in Shannon.

They don't promote you because Ireland has this funny work culture, I can't explain it.

Ireland has the highest concentration of multinationals companies in Europe. It is defacto silicon valley of Europe. It is also about getting the right/relevant qualifications and excelling at the very competitive interviews.

UK pay less in comparison to Ireland but not that significant. There is always a trade-off in one or two things between the 2 countries.

A number of factors will determine career progression and the industry/ sector you will work in.
Here's what you are missing, where are the multi nationals concentrated ?

What is the cost of living where these multi nationals are?

What is the household income in Ireland?

How much contract work is in Ireland , like those project manager, etc jobs?

Keep decisiving yourselves, even Irish people are migrating to Canada UK Australia..

You never see anything, even if you get lucky and get work, dey no go promote you.

Bookmark this site... I have lived it...

Smart people move , I didn't because I had your mindset .. not saying go to Nigeria, go somewhere else.

Not shared room but shared house. It's a 4 bedroom duplex that has four double bedrooms. Hope you know what that means. Stop displaying your ignorance on a public forum.
Bro let's stop arguing, please get my point. If you are qualified get out of Ireland.

Love you bro

that is what people don't understand. One has to develop himself/herself to become essential in a civilized country. The competition is real. It all boils down to what you can offer.
But he still shares a room lol and arguing with someone who has a property in a well sought out area in Limerick.

Oga let's place a bet, you will run back.

I am a Dubiner who pays over €900 of my salary as income tax, so I know what am saying.

Allow the OP to enjoy his life/post in peace and hope of a better future considering that you had enough of Ireland.
That's 4 k a month , not great same as taxi drivers earn but don't have to declare.

If you add Dublin expenses, you'll realise you're just getting by.

When treasury bills were good , some people with 70 million invested were earning close to your salary without lifting a finger.

Anyway I'll stop here ... Thanks for listening

Don’t mind all this people that went to another mans country on a visitor visa
You don't know shit, all the major companies are in Dublin, in fact companies like Facebook, Google are all in Dublin.

Now tell me the cost of renting a flat in Dublin and your salary expectations?

You guys are easily impressed, been there done that.

I'm not saying everyone is doing shitty jobs , I'm saying Ireland is not that much of a great country

Statistically if we look at every Nigerian in Ireland I can tell you for a fact that most are in low paid jobs ...

Limerick is even worse , the have northern trust, Johnson and Johnson which is shift work, then you have Uber and some companies in raheen.

It's not great if you are ambitious.

Let's assume you get 350 a week , spend 65 on shopping 240 per month, depending on your lifestyle there is more .

Eg I still have to pay bills like, electric and gas insurance, internet...

You're living a student lifestyle , that's why you think 350 EUR is money .

I'm not saying Nigeria is better than Ireland, but Ireland is not as great as the picture he's painting.

I said UK is better. Ireland is only good if you're raising a family but trust me you won't be rich.

You'll also be extremely bored as it is a conservative country.

Canada, UK other countries are better for young educated people with ambition.

Yes but if he doesn't realise he's stuck in a shit hole he'll be stuck in that situation for a long time, because rents keep going up and wages are static.

what you are saying and what I am saying are two different things. Why are you bringing up the issue of struggle in Ireland. I never said Ireland is the best country in the world. I just shared my coronavirus lockdown experience and said the government is paying 350 euro per week to people before you started your long talk. I earn above that amount per week. My work is even still on because we offer essential services. My weekly wage was increased last week after government announced increment of unemployment fund from 203 to 350 euro.

You can still create your own thread to narrate your experience. It's a free world.
They're not paying 350 a week, that's a big lie.

The money is means tested and I'm not getting it .

Even though I've paid 20 years of taxes ..

Will you prefer to share a room with strangers abroad or live in a modest bungalow that you own in Nigeria?

There’s no such thing as refugees camp here bro, there are few people in what they call direct provisions that’s all.
Have you been to knocknasheen provision center in moyross?

Even the ones with paper don't have proper jobs.

The anti racism NGOs enar raised awareness about the lack of representation of blacks in high placed work position.

I can show you all the evidence.

Ive worked with several companies, they don't promote you for years.

When you look back your life is gone.

You have bigger better opportunities in the uk.

Please tell me how many multi nationals are in Ireland all together.

Are you telling me you can't see people are struggling? For real.

Half of the Irish population are on low income jobs like retail, admin , hospitality etc.

Brah be honest it's not great, after many years you'll realise you're making a big mistake especially if you are well educated.

Trust me , I'm not trying to be mean, just honest.

.

Have Irish people made it yet?

Please Google homelessness in Ireland.

Money doesn't grow on trees unless you're into fraud.

A student Nigerian lawyer I met recently cleans toilets in a care home and she has a few months left to secure a job before her visa runs out, unfortunately Ireland is very racist, they'll hire Indians before blacks.

Majority here are into taxi, care work , security, some have African shops, the few who have office type jobs don't have high wages because the household income is low even though their gdo per capita is high on paper due to some dodgy tax deals used to lure investors.

Okay so show us the statistics. How the heck are Nigerians living large in Nigeria? We have to provide our own water, electricity and roads - things that are taken for granted in Ireland. Should we talk about the lack of good hospitals? Why do you think that everyone in government always run to London and USA when they fall ill?
Please let us not deceive ourselves here, we have a long way to go
You don't get it, a guy living in Ireland paying 350 per month is renting a room.

Some Nigerians here have their own properties maybe small but it's theirs.

So the false pretence of living better than Nigerians is flawed .

Anyway think why would I lie, I'm doing this for you to know the truth because I'm not the boastful type and I love my peeps

Stop lying, this is a shared apartment..and if there are 3-4 bedrooms in that house.. You are talking about €1500-€2,000 with other tenants in the house.. An average person earning 38k - 78k a year with a wife and kids..will not share 2-3bed apartment with other people.

That foreigners share rooms and live like 'isale eko' residents does not mean the locals live like that. People are actually depressed, they can't go out and make money... Stop lying and misleading people... Who in the world live on 50 eur a month as you stated.. Bloody liar.. Money wey no buy one bottle of Jack Daniels.
If they only knew he is sharing a house with 6 people lol.

Yet some Nigerians who have a house back home will be praying for his blessings lol.

Why do you people like misinforming Nigerians??

The €350 is for those earning between €38k-75k per annum (that is a minimum of €730 per week), whose jobs were affected by the lock down and cannot work from home.. Or business owners who were forced to close their businesses but still have to pay staff.

Surely, you are not getting this money...otherwise you'll be well informed. I live in Dublin and rent is €1000-1500 a month... That money is not even enough to pay mortgage... Stop spewing thrash and misinforming people.
Nigerian government is not doing enough but don't make it look like you are in paradise in Ireland either. No government in the world is father Christmas.
You are the only person telling the truth here, they mislead our people and are responsible for the deaths on the precarious libya route.

I can't even argu with him because I know gullible Nigerians will swallow it.

Why do they do this , I don't know.

when most of you talk like this, I wonder IF you are into business or you are just someone who gets paid at the end of the month by your employer.

Which global dominance are you people talking about when there is already resentment towards Chinese products. I know a bunch of friends who can't sell their merchandise right now because of the "Made In China" on the products.

Their test kit has been bring back false positives and false negatives which made Spain government return the kits back.

If they develop a vaccine and India develop theirs, the world would rather buy from India than China. It seems you have no idea how these guys will suffer after dust settles.

In coming years, governments of nations will streamline policies to attract Industrialisation closer to home and the means gradual moves away from depending on China... it will take time but it will be achieved in eventually.

Nations will focus of bio science than ever before, nationalism with take center stage than globalization.

Summarily, the world will never remain the same again because stringent travel policies will be enacted to help reform aviation sector. If any, instant virus test may be required at airports and immediate quarantining if need be...

a lot and a lot of things will be changed.
You are right about everything apart from China, there's no country in the world that can equal China's manufacturing capabilities.

The west cannot make cheap products like China because of their currency and wages.

Yes China will initially be resented but it won't last long because theirs no alternative.

At best Western countries will become more self reliant using automation , but they can't cater to world demands.

More identity politics, stricter immigration rules, supply chains will be moved closer to home, stock market will rebound ,
automation in the west.

China will thrive and look for other markets.

Nigeria will remain the same but with higher levels of poverty due to lower oil prices and devaluation.

Poverty ... More crimes, societal disfunction, continued bad governance, the churches will cash out and people will become more stupid.
