Yea, congrats to Ali. I would ve preferred David though. Going by their present form, next season is going to be tough. Del Potro, Simon, Gulbis, Tsonga and a host of others. Nadal, Federer, Djokovic, Murray, Davydenko, Roddick, Tsonga, Del Potro will be in Shanghai. |
Breaking News: Federer has withdrawn from the tournament because of a stiff back. James Blake gets a walkthrough passage into the last four. He awaits the winner between Tsonga and Roddick in the SF. |
David takes the first semi-final spot. He beat Murray 7-6, 6-3. Up Next Davydenko vs. Nadal. I expect Davydenko to prove his critics wrong. |
Paris Masters Blake has to beat Federer to stand a chance of qualifying for the year-ending Masters Cup competition. Nalbandian too has an outside chance. Can he end the winning streak of the man of the moment, Murray? Quarterfinal fixtures Murray A. v Nalbandian D. Nadal R. v Davydenko N. Blake J. v Federer R. Roddick A. v Tsonga J. Can you predict the semi-finalists? |
It's no longer a hidden truth that u will succeed against all odds in every area of your life this year and always. I wish u the very best as u add another year today. Happy Birthday. |
Ruudie, thanks for the updates. I'm not surprised Tallest beat Djokovic, just like Roddick, his strength lies in his monstrous serve, which he uses well against the top players. Federer took out Tsonga with ease. He beat Del Potro 6-3, 6-3 today. Up next for him, Murray, who beat Monfils 6-2, 6-2. I expect Nadal and Karlovic to complete the semi-final line-up. |

Roger Federer returned from a five-week layoff to beat Radek Stepanek 6-3, 7-6 (6) on Wednesday in the second round of the Madrid Masters. The 2006 champion rallied from a 5-3 deficit in the tiebreak with some excellent shotmaking, including a backhand that landed in the far corner on match point. "Happy to be back on tour," Federer said. "Happy with this first round. It was always going to be tough against Radek and he played a great second set." Federer, playing his first ATP event since winning the US. Open last month, will face Australian Open finalist Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. "I'm excited. He's had a rocky season with injuries this year, so I feel for the guy," Federer said of his French opponent. "He's probably one of the guys you want to be playing out there." I slept 5am just to cheer my JJ, but Serena outmuscled, outpaced, outplayed her on the important points. Serena stepped up when it mattered. 7-4, 7-5 it ended. Better luck next time, JJ. Congrats to the new world number one, Serena Williams. |
Play has resumed. Murray has been serving pretty well but Nadal still leads 5 - 4 in the third set. |
The rest of the match between Murray and Nadal will be concluded tomorrow. The women's final has been shifted till tomorrow too. It's a pity the men's final will be played on Monday as a result of this postponement . Will I have to skip work on Monday? |
Federer wins! 6-3, 5-7, 7-5, 6-2. He awaits Murray/Nadal To be honest, Djokovic didn't look well throughout the match. |
Geez!!! These forehand errors keep piling up. A difficult hold for the world number |
Federer breaks back!. Though, the Djoker still leads 4-3 in the second set. |

I don't think he meant it that way.
