Bombshell From El-Rufai's New Book: "Whoever Wins, I'll Run Aso Rock From My Farm" - Obasanjo
After Olusegun Obasanjo failed to secure a third term in office, he boasted that 2007and 2011 would be a "transition period", as he would run the affairs of the country from his Ota Farm, irrespective of the fact that there would be a sitting president.
This has been revealed in a recently published memoir of an Obasanjo confidant and former minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai, entitled "The Accidental Public Servant".
The book recounts that though former president Obasanjo had singlehandedly ensured that the late Umaru Musa Yar'Adua succeeded him in 2007, he nevertheless planned to administer the country from his Ota Farm. He described the 2007-2011period as a transition because all his pointsmen, including the "economic team", would remain in office.
El-Rufai recalls the former president telling him thus: "Well, nothing will change, you know. I will be in Ota, but we will be running things. Everything will remain the same, you know. You will remain in the government, the economic team will remain. Nothing will change. Only I will move to Ota, and Yar'Adua will be here but we will be running things."
When el-Rufai informed Obasanjo that he intended taking at least two years' break from government business, the former president responded: "OK, well I just thought I should call you and explain to you that the next four years is just a transition period. The real change in government will happen in 2011. Not now."
Obasanjo begged Atiku on his knees
El-Rufai also said in his seminal book, which will be launched at 10:30am on February 7, at the Yar'Adua Centre, Abuja, that the former president begged his deputy on "bended knees" for his political survival.

ABUJA-Abuja chapter of National Association of Seadogs (Pirates Confraternity) has said it will embark on a peaceful protest tomorrow in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, to raise awareness on the current plight of indigenes of the disputed Bakassi Peninsula.
President of NAS, Abuja Chapter, Chief Ogbuehi Dike, said in a statement, yesterday, that the organisation owed the people of Bakassi and entire Nigerians a duty to bring to the fore the current plight of Bakassi people.
He said:"We will hold a peaceful demonstration to raise awareness of the current plight of the indigenous people of Bakassi, the Nigerian enclave that was ceded to the government of Cameroon following the October 10, 2002 judgment of the International Court of Justice, ICJ.
"As an organisation, we have been involved in the fight for the betterment of human society through activities, including but not limited to the struggle for the emancipation of the people of Darfur in Western Sudan from suffering and persecution as a result of the lingering war there, via the Save Darfur Initiative in 2007 and 2008.
"We believe that as a Nigerian organisation, we owe the people of Bakassi and indeed the entire Nigerians a duty to bring to the fore the current plight of Bakassi people."
The procession, he said, will take off from Ngozi Garden behind Tamara Guest House, Bamenda Street, Wuse, Zone 3, Abuja, at 12noon and en route Radio House to NTA Headquarters, Area II.

Vividly, I knew, when I found myself in Nigeria; Nigeria was blessed, and we can oneday compete with western. But it's so saddened when our political leaders are driven us to hicks and trojans, hoping that Nigeria as a country has No continuous resources to fish them after their present tenor or their regime, as unfortunate as they are , they wrongly vice to looting, embezzlement and turn the system corrupt and increase the country's poverty.
One thing is sure, any body that milks this country, causes incessant killings of innocent souls, and prolongs poverty of this nation must oneday regrets it, because time shall come when his wealth shall not count but his good reputation to this country, since most people are rich and some above poverty level in good standing with God and humanity due to predicting current wealth the country is enjoying from God given resources.
Our problem is greed. Greed can't get us anywhere instead it will increase our problems. Assuming Oil is in Enugu, and some S.South states and we manage it without greed unlike some formal financial terrorists, things would had been better but not best.
Generally, speaking we shouldn't allow our faculty be overruled by tribalistic mentality as that will increase ur emotional problem and ur good thinks about this affair.

I wish Ibos should stop talking about presidency and keep watch......as Nigeria political mongers are closer to the ripping of what they sowed.
