I honestly wish you guys would calm down and discuss this matter peacefully. You're both highly intelligent fellows and I'm sure the house would gain alot from your discussion if you do away with the namecalling. Afterall, both we that have zero trust for Trump's intentions and those in support of his intervention want the best for our homeland. |

jjj37: Excellently said.
We can all demonstrate respect for one another by tolerating our individual differences and weaknesess, respect people's right to life, freedom of speech/expression, right to association etc. You can demonstrate this through the promotion of unity in your region via reforms in ideologies, accountabily, justice and embracing modern way of life. Now you're being reasonable. The North does need that, and fast |

Gentleman, this country must be reset on the anchorage of common sense, justice and mutual respect, anything lower than that.. na express oo
But let's come to think about it.. do we share rice or beans proceeds monthly as federal allocation? Nnpc don carry billions of dollars to go search oil for North yet na rice and yarm e still see under.. Make una dey learn humble and give respect to whom respect is due. If you talk wetin akpabio dey tell us, wetin shettima dey tell una How should that due respect be demonstrated? Should we all livestream a daily one-hour salute to the South for the oxygen we take Look, the north is the weak link of Nigeria no doubt, and I cannot disagree that the South as a whole would be better off without this union However, that does not mean the South would be some kind of Utopia without us. The factors that make Nigeria a failed state still exist in the south, and they would become amplified once the bogeyman (north) is out of the picture. Both sides of the divide are being oppressed by the ruling class and that's that. Here, we've been convinced by our elites that prayers is the only solution, and one should focus more on the "hereafter" than silly matters like security, literacy, etc while you have been convinced that one Usman selling phones in Kano is responsible for your failure to pay rent. Northern elites who benefit the most from your oyel are fully in bed with your leaders. You should spare some of that powerful charge you have against northerners for those leaders. |

shoodboi2: Let us lock up on this matter. Your statement suggests that a destabilized north is better for the Niger Delta. It doesn’t.
Trump knows he was treading over a minefield when he made that statement. But he did so deliberately. Religion will finish us all in this country at the end.
And by the time it does, those who brought the religion to us will refuse to give us visas and we will be stuck in a destroyed nation filled with micro-states and never ending warring factions. Allow him to continue barking. They have been convinced by Akpabio and the rest that a northerner cultivating rice in his modest farm is responsible for all of his financial woes. Like a typical Nairalander, he is convinced that the north depends on him for the air they breathe but he cannot explain how. There is no point in engaging his kind |

The political leaders lack the will. They just want to continue pandering just so they can win election and stay in power. And that's why the cycle will never stop. We have created a system where if you kill enough people, the government will appease and empower you. That's why more groups are emerging. Even phone snatchers walk around boldly with knives and matchets now and if you mistakenly allow them to kill you, that's the end of the story |

FXtrader2025: Lord if you insult the Prophet (s.a.w) in Public the way Deborah did, i swear you will collect. Deborah paid the price of her foolishness and intolerance If you try the same especially in the North i swear, it wont take 20 minutes for you to meet your maker Kai even in the South, just record yourself and post on tiktok or FB insulting the Prophet wallahi you will collect And heaven will not fall Banza kawai! Bro you just proved that most of we northerners do not belong in this century. In what silly world should mere utterances justify murder? Isn't it ironic that the same entity that you fast and pray to for salvation from hunger, illiteracy, bad leadership and of course, insecurity cannot avenge his prophet? If you rely on god to give you all the things sensible societies have obtained for themselves through blood and tears and intellect, why can't you rely on him to punish Lordadam, Deborah, and every other 'offender' Could it be that deep down, you're conscious of the fact that you're just fooling yourselves? I do not intend to offend shoodboi, imei or any other Muslim on this thread but this question has to be asked. Honestly, it pains me to see how we are bringing ourselves down to this level. We can't all have the same opinion on everything, but does that mean we have to insult one another? So long as the people committing terrorist acts in this country are Muslims (regardless of whether they're fundamentalists like ISWAP or bandits who are not religious at all), christians who have little or nothing to do with 97% of the insecurity in the North would justifiably feel attacked. It's human nature. If a Christian terrorist group in the North should emerge and start both Muslims and Christians, Muslims would say they're being targeted and truth be told, their own would go beyond just crying to the media. It is on this same country that Muslims started killing innocent Christians around them because of a comment made in Denmark. The narrative that Christians are being specifically targeted in Nigeria is pure B.S, but it is inevitable. Since the murder of Deborah, several Muslims have been killed for 'blasphemy' in the north. One happened in Sokoto because a man told a begged to only say "help me for the sake of Allah" and not "help for the sake of prophet Muhammed." In another occasion, they killed a vigilante man for saying "Not even prophet Muhammad can convince me to release you." I think we've had 5 incidents like that since 2022, and all the victims were Muslims. But be honest with yourself. If Muslims are okay with such animalistic behavior (as you have proven), does that mean Christians have to put up with it as well? This is why you don't see me arguing with Okpansukka and co even though I disagree with the narrative they're pushing. |

Jk210: With Gaza winding down and UAE currently in the walk of shame after been called out on Sudan and probably trying to scale back its weapons purchase, more markets need to be opened for the US Industrial military complex. Ditto oil rich Venezuela and Africa which has always been a rich killing field. They see you as lesser humans, trust me.
Since Tinubu as Ecowas president didn't go in guns blazing to reinstate 'democracy' in Niger, thereby opening a massive weapons contract and helping them punish the African Sahel rulers that kicked out their military bases, Trump and the MIC are suddenly in love with Nigerian Christains. Notice how they did and still do nothing to help the Christians and minorities been killed in Syria by the followers of their installed Al-Qaeda president. Notice how Israel and UAE are the biggest markets for gold despite owning not one single ounce on their soil - all from war torn Congo. Remember the blood diamonds from Sierra Leone? Remember Patrice Lumumba, the Christian leader of Congo who was vaporized in acid (as we later saw done in breaking bad series) just for wanting the best for his people? Thank goodness Maduro's pilot didn't fall for the millions offered by the CIA to deliver Maduro to them. They know how to make you dissappear or say you commited suicide. No doubt the Nobel peace prize woman would have also given that pilot a good government appointment.
It's never about we the populace but their interest. Neo-colonialism and control. Let us open our military base in your country and have skewed trade agreements and we won't bomb or destabilise it. You refuse, we destabilize it anyway and install our puppet. Always a lose-lose with them.
We may like or hate China, but their non interference in domestic affairs is commendable. The west is never your friend. It is coercion or control and they always exploit the fault lines within countries for their gains. Sunni and Shia in ME, Christian and Muslim in Africa, Tribe in religiously homogenous countries eg Hutus vs Tutsi in Rwanda. They will always look for something to fan the embers.
Economically prosperous nations don't see differences. China's Muslim population don't feel diilfferently because they are okay(the US tried to exploit that and failed. So if we all focused on growing our economies, we wouldn't care about tribe or religion which is why they never want you to grow. They need something to divide you with. See how Israel always targets civilian infrastructure during wars rather than military targets. Keep them poor, eventually some will cave and turn to our informants and stooges (we saw it work in gaza and gradually in Yemen).
If all the boko haram terrorists were employed, had families and a meaningful life to return to, they wouldn't be interested in terrorism. Who's currently supplying them weapons and drugs? Hard drugs are what make a human like you take a cutlass and kill another person in cold blood without flinching. Because at the point of using those drugs you lose the brain's prefrontal cortex function which is what makes us human and you become subject to basal instincts like a lion attacking a prey. So drug trade flourishes. Weapons trade flourishes. Win win for the military industrial complex war machine.
It is time for the world to unite against the MIC. Against neo colonialism and control. It happened to my neighbour (gaza, libya, syria), I did not care. Now it's gradually coming to everyone's doorstep. Saudi and Qatar may think they're free for now. But honestly when the war machine is done with other enclaves it will reach their doorstep too.
Countries should learn to put aside their differences and unite against a common enemy. The US is not our friend. They never were. And wont suddenly be. It's time for African leaders to put their acts together and pursue development. The time is ripe for economically disadvantaged countries to push for BRICS to work You have said it all, though I share the view that Nigeria needs external pressure on this matter. Insecurity has become a lucrative issue members of the Nigerian government, and we as the citizens have failed to give them a befitting reaction. People have revolted and chased out presidents for far less serious problems, but we choose to rely on social media cries and prayers. What's happening in Nigeria is beyond 'Christians are being killed' or 'more Muslims are being killed than Christians.' This is something that has consumed over 100,000 lives and billions of naira have been flushed down for nothing. Contrary to whatever your beliefs are, no innocent life is more precious than the other. An intervention is seriously needed even if the intervening party only focuses on certain communities. But America will be the last country to throw bombs with the sole intention of protecting negro lives in a shithole country. They know better than everyone how slow and grueling it is to take out insurgents and they're not going to push their heads into that mess for some noble reasons. All these threats are either meant to secure unfair, humiliating deals or as you have suggested, to keep the MIC funds flowing by arming their jihadist foot soldiers to worsen the situation for everyone. Expecting a US intervention to improve your country (or save Christians) is like expecting a lawyer that has lost 135/140 cases to keep you off death row. The idea only sounds sweet to the ear because of our desperate situation, but their CV in that regard is just too horrible. They should pressure the government if they are sincere but anything beyond that is a big no for me. |

23jerryking: The thing is that in the case of genocide the intent is clear; To eliminate the targeted group itself, killing them, preventing births, or destroying their culture (and mind you, this is why I refuse to accept that the Gaza case is one as their birth rates never drops). I think a good example of this is the Holocaust, where Nazis aimed to exterminate Jews and other groups. But ethnic "cleansing" is to make a territory “pure” by driving the unwanted group out. This might not necessarily be to kill them all. So what do you consider the attempt to move all Gazans out of Palestine? |

obedience4: There will be no US military intervention in Nigeria that is a fact, it is not feasible for the US military to deploy it troops in Nigeria.
i]The mere deployment of US troops on Nigeria soil is a prerequisite for anarchy.. our Northern brothers will see it as a threat to their existence.. such move will only bring more harm than good.. and besides such move will not be a good image for the Nigerian government..It will be tantamount to a breach of Nigerian sovereignty[/i]
All these are normal Trump rethorics and they all end on social media.. no sensible Nigerian wants forgien troops on our soil.. if Trump and any other country wants to help ..send weapons or send a small contegient to help train our troops on counter terrorism techniques
The best thing Trump can do is a show of force.. He might even command the US forces under Africom to be ready to intervene, he might even order some F35 to US bases in region as a show of strength A broken clock is right twice a day. Rooting out terrorists in Nigeria would require close US coordination with the Nigerian military or a full US military presence, and it would certainly not be concluded in days or weeks. Coming in 'Guns Blazing' would lead to few bandit casualties and massive 'collateral damage' and depending on who the victims of that campaign are, it might lead to bigger bloodshed than we cant fathom on this thread. The best way to help us out is to sanction the government officials where it hurts and coordinate with our military while watching out for saboteurs. If they can do that, even if they steal 'our' resources, then good. But I am personally not going to fool myself with that belief. |
