Exactly. This is one of the reasons I avoid African literature unless I'm sure the book was written by someone that wants to communicate. Many of them just pad their books with unnecessary fluff and words that some dictionaries don't even have 😂

Simple language is better even in those regions. It's we Africans that take big grammar for head because we see it as a sign of intelligence

Thanks man 🫡. I actually had a writing stint at one point and used to be jealous of guys who wrote with complex grammar until I read this BBC article mocking Nigerian journalists over their writing style.

Then I read BBC and UK Guardian to copy their simple writing style, and stuck with it ever since.

This is what Stephen King preached in his book, On Writing. You get to reach a wider audience and you have less risk of using words inappropriately. The same thing is preached in Elements of Style. Sending readers to the dictionary only feels good to the ego of the writer.

When Israel first bombed Al-Shifa hospital in November 2023, you and your boys here all claimed it was Hamas that bombed the hospital.

Once it became glaring, even to the blind that Israel was bombing hospitals, you all switched to Hamas was hiding under the hospital.

When the bombing continued, it turned into "Hamas is preventing people from leaving the hospitals".

And now that even that has been busted, it has turned into "Yes, Israel is bombing hospitals but we should blame Hamas for Israel bombing the hospital." Make it make sense.

There are displacement plans. It goes on and on. This is a 'final solution' in progress.

He went on by trying to justifying his earlier statements by scribbling different theories by individuals, who believed that the holocaust was a hoax, as inhumane as that sound, he is not alone in that school of thought, they are alot of individuals, scholars, very educated people who believe Hitler did a good job by doing what he did in ww2, The only difference is that he chicken out and wasn't man a enough to give his reasons for his statements why he believed that Hitler was right in killing 6 million jews, This is the hypocrisy that sinks in this thread, here will have a man supporting a holocaust that killed 6 million jews, yet crying foul over the things happening in Gaza, just a few hours ago you were critical of Israeli annexation of syrian lands, while cheering on a certain Russia annexating Ukraine lands.
