What do you feel could bring succor to an average Nigerian if it's not reduction in price in price of petrol, that's what a cross section of Nigerian population benefit from. The refinery can't recruiting 2% out of the unemployed youth out there. Stakeholders under him have constantly maintain fuel would be sold at international market price which will still expensive for a person on minimum wage.
I love surprises tho,and I will love to see a positive turn around but till then I will still lower my expectation.
Lower prices is not the only way to help the population unless you are looking for short-term solutions to a long term problem. I do not share the high level of optimism that the op has but I believe the refinery would move us forward and not backwards

The sheer stupidity of this post is a prime example of how shallow and empty the brain of an average Nigerian is.

The strength of a Nation's currency is dependent on its trade balance (i.e whether it is a net exporter or a net importer)

If a country has a trade imbalance with other countries whose economies are based on strong industrialisation and large priductions of goods and services which dominate exports to other countries, then that country will have a very weak currency and that is exactly what Nigeria's problem is.

For a country with a population of 200 million, Nigeria is grossly under-industrialised. How many of the major car companies in the world have assembly plants in Nigeria? The answer is zero. At best they will have one or two show rooms in places like Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt or Kano (which is the case with Toyota and Honda in Nigeria), but that is as far as they are willing to go with investment in Nigeria.

Most global brands, with the exception of oil companies (for obvious reasons) tend to avoid Nigeria.

The only foreign companies that invest in Nigeria tend to be either new companies that are trying to make a name for themselves, or Chinese, Indian and Paki companies who don't care about things like Nigeria's corruption because they are used to it in their home countries.

Dangote's refinery won't change anything. Venezuela is one of the biggest oil producing countries in the world, and it has the biggest oil reserves in the world. Their reserves are bigger than those of Russia, Saudi Arabia, United States, Iran etc. The price of a litre of petrol in Venezuela is about N17 per litre, but their economy is in tatters and on the verge of collapse.

Cheap petroleum has never been a substitute for sound economic policies. Yes, it makes the cost of transportation more affordable for the populace, but the overall net impact is not going to be as miraculous as you think. What makes a country develop rapidly and have a strong currency is industrialisation. That's how Japan did it, despite not having a drop of oil in their country, that's how the Chinese have done it, that's how the Indians are doing it etc.

If Nigeria doesn’t start industrialisation on a massive scale, nothing is going to stop it from becoming even more wretched than it already is.

Nigeria is already the next Venezuela in the making.
Everything you said is valid except for the example you made with Venezuela. The country is in tatters mostly because of America's bullying and the undue sanctions placed on its economy.

Dangote is the largest producer of cement in Africa but the cement is still expensive here. Why do you believe all of a sudden that his refinery will be the game changer?
Why must it be cheap? The refinery is more about creating job opportunities, slightly reducing fuel price, and most importantly, reducing our dollar demand.

This is why people are protesting in Tel Aviv !

Why "clear some names for publication" and leave out the names of the other slaughtered thugs?
Are they all not thugs?
Are all Israeli IDF thugs not equal?

They carefully choose the younger and more handsome thugs with nice pictures for "clearing and publication" to stir the sentiment of fools.

Please I'm appealing to Satanyahu to "clear" the names of all slaughtered thugs.
A thug is a thug!
All thugs are equal.
There is no need to complain bro. Last last, e go burst.

Mumu. No brain.

Tell us what the British did in their 70 year rule.

Name the industries they built. Name the roads, expressways and infrastructure they built.

Are you aware they did not build ONE single power plant in Nigeria? Or even a national power grid?

KAINJI dam was our first power plant commissioned in 1964 by the Balewa administration.

Are you aware they did not build a single university in Nigeria, compared to the 250+ universities we have today?

They was no public education. Literacy rate was 5% at independence, compared to 75% today.

The only reason you stupid pea brain can type and read and write is that blacks came to power and built THOUSANDS of public schools across Nigeria, which educated you.

If the British were still in charge, you would today be a village illiterate palmwine tapper like your grandpa was under colonial rule, so STFU you self hating asswipe.
Thank you!!!

You are very stupid and ignorant.

The British were maximum looters who came here to loot, which is the ONLY reason for colonialism.

Instead of being a stupid slave happy to be colonised, you should be asking why your country was an undeveloped bush in 1960 after they had ruled for 70 years uninterrupted and exporting your resources.

Mumu people.
Africans in general are cursed. You needed to see how one guy was showering the white race with so many deserved and undeserved praises. The truth is that although our country has failed, we have done more for ourselves than the colonial thieves ever did.

Take a look at the US:

US vs Cuba
US vs Venezuela
US vs North Korea
US vs Afghanistan
US vs Iraq
US vs Iran
US/Israel vs Palestine
US vs Yemen
US vs Russia
US vs China
US/Israel involved in Syria

These ☝️ are places where the US has been directly involved in conflicts and destruction.
There are several other places where the United Snakes is indirectly involved in distabilization and outright stealing!
Did you call them terrorists?
Did you say they're Christians?
Have you called for their annihilation?

More importantly, why attribute the conflict in Palestine to Islam?
Did anyone attribute the South African liberation struggles to religion?
Palestinian Christians and Muslims are fighting a war or liberation together.

The reason people like you ascribe everything to religion is because you're a filthy Islamophobe.
Don't mind that psycho please.

How did she get as much as $9 billion? How did we move from this level of mind boggling corruption under Diezani to the current revelations about Emefiele? Why do we keep throwing up extremely greedy characters like these as leaders?

If she’s willing to cooperate for the recovery of the $9 billion, I think President Tinubu should allow her come back. That kind of money can help us stabilize the exchange rate immediately.
I can only support this solution of yours if after recovering the looted funds, she is secretly rearrested and placed in solitary confinement for the rest of her miserable life.

But hamas said israel is weak... Maybe now they know Israel is deadly.
It's simple logic that even a ten year old can explain to you. Hamas' ultimate goal is to defend Gaza (or let me say themselves only). That's all that it has to gain in this conflict while Israel is trying to murder as many people as possible while seizing new territories. Even if Hamas kills all the IDF terrorists in Gaza, they'll gain nothing except bragging rights while Israel's victory means more deterrence, more security deals, and more territories. It's mostly a lose-lose situation for Hamas.

Want their kids born here so as to secure citizenship.

They dont hate you, na una wey hate unaselves there thats why una remain backward. Until this age, una still dey find it difficult to give unaselves electricity despite all the oil money...
And I tell you this dude, all you guys shouting "racism and Whiteman hates you"
Believe me honestly, Nigerians and blacks hate themselves more than the whiteman..
Again, you sound immature. People from all corners of the world go to "enjoy" other places but so long as they do not try to live there forever, you cannot say anything wrong about it. Every year, THE RICHEST OF THE RICH whites travel to different parts of the world for tourism and vacation, and it's not uncommon to see poor and middle class whites wishing they could travel to other places. And again, the fact that people literally make billions and still live with their families in Nigeria destroys your belief that traveling to white man's land is the ultimate achievement.

And now he's making another silly assumptions 😂 for your info, I've never said I hate white people or that they are responsible for our present challenges. it's going to take either a dumb or a dishonest person to say that they didn't get rich off conquest, slave labor, mass murder, and theft even if their technology and scientific prowess played a role. Your post also reeks of shamelessness. While far-right whites are calling you low-IQ moneys bent ruining their countries just as you'd ruined yours, you are here pissing on a country that produces more billionaires than all other African countries (according to a recent report).

By the same way, you have still not answered my question on your legality. Are you a sailor or not?
