I moved into this apartment about two weeks ago. Mini flat, only myself, excellent neighbourhood; I'm constantly indoors and not social. But the landlady has been a pest so far. The property has three tenants, but only one has been there for over a year. The renter I replaced still works for her today, but quit the house only after a year. The longest-tenured tenant (five years, married man with kids) warned me about her before I moved in. That she meddled in the affairs of her tenants. He is also desperate to leave the house this year. Under the pretext of protection, she herself told me that she routinely informs her tenants' families of every move they make. Today, the camel's back broke. A female acquaintance of mine recently stayed with me for some days. The landlady took offence and informed me that she does not want any female visitors except a known girlfriend. Before relocating, she had also said that she did not want much male visitors in order to avoid disruptive behaviour. Made sense to me security-wise. Wasn't a problem since I don't have male friends. The next day, I saw her and informed her that an animal was running in the roof, as well as other anomalies I had noticed in the apartment. She said that it seemed I was dissatisfied with the home and that she would provide a full refund without delay. I made certain to inquire whether the prohibition on female visitors was on security grounds, but she said that the residence was a Christian home where everyone must be family, notwithstanding the fact that the tenant before me was a muslim. Today, my agent came on my door and informed me that the landlady had complained to him. We subsequently met with the landlady, who once again threatened a complete refund. She continued by saying that I am too young to have female companions because they would destroy my life. I'm 23. This evening I took the decision to collect the refund, cut my losses on the agreement and commission, and look for a new flat in the vicinity. I had only heard rumours, but I had no idea such toxic home owners exist. The husband of over 33 years is pretty laid-back and even made a joke about my bringing a female acquaintance around to my guarantor. The wife on the other hand is hell's fury. |
Don't think you're a whizkid. This is very common for your generation. My neighbour is 15 and is a programmer, web developer, web designer and graphic designer. |
sanadeyemi:Lutian, less fakes out there. |

MasterJayJay:How about the generator? Won't the high voltage damage it? |
kevoh:Can't agree any more on this. Spot on. |
folamorgan:Thank you for clarification. |
folamorgan:Where dey see this cheap dollar rate? |
kevoh:Just sold my big gen for this.
|
kevoh:Just got the gen yesterday, can't get new one because we have no light where I stay. I need a gen I could run for hours on just fan and laptop. What I did it was to run it at low choke until the voltmeter settled at 100V-150V. On full choke the, voltmeter was reading above 300V. Does this solve this? |
osmosis101:Thank you. |
Please help. I just got this used generator - Birla Yamaha, and it keeps blowing up several appliances. Extension, chargers all burnt. The power it delivers is so great that the bulbs and fan runs at higher brightness and speed than even PHCN electricity. I know the problem of the gen is too high frequency by the previous owner. By tightening a certain screw. However I don't know where to find this screw and loosen on this particular gen. |
meum:The mechanic guy tried selling me a generator but I rejected and went to buy from another seller. He might try to damage something else to prove a point to me. Just relocated here so yet to find another mechanic. Also he's not available Sunday. |

Modified: User, Kevoh, said the problem is a lack of inbuilt stabilizer or voltage regulator. |

We had rats in my former apartment. Big rats that played hide and seek across the roof. Rats that opened your pot, selected the best fish and closed it. Rats that climbed you bed to smell your feet and undies. I haven't seen one in two years. |
Good Afternoon The light in my new area is very inconsistent, so I want to get a battery that can save the power for whenever I want to use. Is all I need just a battery and inverter? Powers just 90w fridge, 50w fan. Cc: Mordecai |
On several official websites, it is reported that partially opening the fuel valve has no effect on petrol usage. https://www.nairaland.com/6641394/does-keeping-generator-fuel-tap This made sense since engineers claim that the carburetor determines fuel consumption based on load. Therefore I decided to verify this claim's accuracy. Before starting my generator, I opened the fuel valve for 15 minutes with the generator switched off. Even though a considerable quantity of petrol had already poured into the carburetor, the generator turned on but died instantly. However, as soon as I opened the fuel valve, the generator started up and ran smoothly. This indicated to me that the fuel valve, not the carburetor, was responsible for gasoline use. To further demonstrate my concept, I partially opened the fuel valve and observed that my 2.5KVA generator operating on a refrigerator and several home appliances used far less fuel than usual. In my opinion, halfway opening of fuel valve saves fuel significantly.

Tofee:That is dirt-cheap man. Which part of Lagos do you pay less than 800 go-come? |
Tofee:How much of that goes to transportation? |

Miracood2:Not really. Some PDA show a total disrespect for those around. Some display of affection are meant to be left behind in the private domain. |
Forbrok:The bolded is false. The aggrieved stays in the marriage because she is financially dead without the husband. Give her 300k, and she leaves the toxicity. That's why a woman should never settle for being a homemaker or housewife. Insist on working. |
