Drogo:Please, Chief come ooo Abeg. ![]() |
Hello folks, My Mazda Premacy 2001 model has a problem. The idling is very unsteady. It goes high and low, and when I step on the clutch, the engine goes very low and most times shuts off. It also vibrates terribly when I'm not in motion or the car us idle. So in order to keep the engine running, I'll have to constantly pump the throttle. Btw, it's a manual transmission. For over a week, I've been to about two different mechanic workshops. In the process, they've replaced the fuel pump, cleaned the fuel filter, cleaned the fuel tank, cleaned and serviced the fuel nozzles, replaced the plugs and the coils, replaced the airflow meter, reset and tightened the manifold in case air was leaking from there. All to no avail. I've spent over 20k trying to correct this problem and it has been very inconvenient for me taking public transports to my destinations. So my dear nairalanders and engineers in the house, please advise me on what to do. I've tried everything I can but it's like my village people have sworn I won't drive home this December with my car. Thanks. |
D33VA: So typical...Drop your own opinion like a civilized human. |
naughtyDiana:LOL. I was actually laughing when I was reading your first comment. You reminded me of market women that chatter and clatter like chickens at the slightest provocation. Better change o. It's not a good quality in a woman. |
glossy6:My point is, if there's the slightest opportunity that you can take care of your child by yourself at least for the 1st one year, grab it. She stands to gain so much than in crèche. |
Bomgirl:I understand your point. Like I said, if you're super busy... Some parents can actually do it, but they still choose crèche. No one can take care of your child like yourself. |
naughtyDiana:Typical Nigerian woman...you can never state a different opinion without insults and name-calling. It's my opinion, dear. It's OK to differ, but very uncivilized to insult others. |
What's creche? I don't know why parents would even consider that...unless they're super busy. The first 2yrs of a child's life is very important. It's the time you bond with your growing child and teach her the basics of life. I patiently took care of my girl till 2yrs of age before I enrolled her in prenursery 1. She learned a lot, and basically surpasses most of her mates in class. |
I've written on a 'How-to-do-it' book for children. I need an artist who can illustrate the various step-by-step activities contained in the book. I'd prefer graphic or digital art. Thanks. Contact me via WhatsApp on: 08039683822 |
I'm sure the player is female. The thighs are too skinny for a male. |
krissconnect:If you're looking for moral lessons, move to the Religion Section bro. ![]() |

As the first and only son of a very large extended family. I was mandated to either marry a lawyer or read law at school. I chose the latter, and married my love. |
peacettw:It's so unfortunate. Maybe you're right. Maybe they had problems bigger than a one-month old baby in pain and under the scorching heat. No mind people, dear. I've just learnt today to take whatever I see from them, but to keep being myself. |

Thank you, bro. I guess this experience has also toughened my skin. |
byvan03:Imagine that! There is indeed so much darkness in the human heart. But I think I've learnt not to expect kindness but to keep being kind. Thank you. |
greatgod2012:Power-filled words! Thanks, dear. I shall KEEP BEING GOOD! ![]() |
QueenSuccubus:It's really disheartening. |
DozieInc:Yes. Plain wicked and inconsiderate. |
Acidosis:Thank you, bro. Was LOL on some of your comments. But you're right indeed. Lies and deceits are the norms of today's society. But I believe that people should still endeavor to ascertain who is lying and who really needs help. It's not always justifiable to treat Mr.B as a liar, because Mr.A has deceived you before. Our society will only deteriorate more if we generalize everyone as bad because of a previous experiences. Thanks for the recovery wishes to my baby. I appreciate. |
greatgod2012:Thanks a lot, greatgod. You know sometimes as humans, when you're used to showing kindness to people most of the time, you feel you also deserve same. I guess I was expecting too much. All the same, thanks for your encouragement. |
Monogamy:It's really unbelievable. The problem is that churches these days no longer teach kindness and love, but personal wealth and prosperity. Every other thing doesn't matter. It's bad. |
I feel so disappointed in humans that I may not be helping people anytime soon. I and my wife took our one month old baby to the hospital to treat him of a huge boil growing in his scalp. Had to spend like 4 hrs waiting for the doctor and my last cash in the hospital. The baby cried so much as the doctor drained the boil. It was heartbreaking. On our way back, I went to the ATM and waited on the longest queue I've ever seen. My wife and baby were waiting for me under the scorching heat. When it got to my turn after about 45 mins, the ATM suddenly was"unable to dispense cash". There was another machine just beside mine, with its own queue. And they saw what happened. I had to beg them to permit me withdraw some cash. They refused. Even after telling them that I had a sick baby with me and the mother that had endured the heat waiting for me at the back, they refused. An older man whom I thought would be sympathetic with me even told me to go and beg my age-mates, not elders. Nobody pitied my condition. I had to leave angry and disappointed, consoled my wife and crying baby, and we went home. I know that everybody have their problems, but it's unfair not to consider people whose problems are bigger than yours. I usually lend a helping hand to those who need my help, but right now I think there's no more gain in doing good. |
I didn't watch the BB show, but I found it funny that people are so into it that they'd actually bet such amount for a show.

timifakay:I think you have a point. I should stop turning the engine off every now and then. I was only observing the opinions from car websites that advise not to leave the engine idling for even up to a minute. They say it saves more fuel to turn it off any moment you're not throttling. But the opposite seems to be the case for me. |
emy77:Wow!! 180km with 15litres?? I think that's good efficiency. My car isn't up to a 2.0litre engine, ain't an SUV and I don't even use AC. I guess I really should check it out. |
J0hnTrevolt:And I guess the 02 sensor thing will be costly to replace. It's a serious issue. I guess I should be leaving my ignition on as well to save fuel. |
timifakay:Thank you sir, for your reply. I've not gone for a scan yet. But my average speed is 70km/h; Top speed 100km/h. While driving in the city, I feel it consumes more. By the way, I notice a sharp drop in fuel especially when I turn off and on the car more frequently. Is that normal? |
Correspondence:I wonder o. As if there are only two men that own cars in Nairaland. Well, since you're here let's make it a three-some. |
Back in the days when we used the 'Exit Card', I mistakenly urinated on it. The teacher flogged and sent me out of the class. |
Coolgent:Alright, I'll try and go for a scan when I find the time. Thank you sir for your time. |
Coolgent:Yes sir. I noticed the engine light is on. It has been illuminated for some time now, and I've not had the time to check. Do you have any idea what it might indicate? |

So typical...
