Coolgent:So sorry sir for the late reply. I've been busy , so I was offline since then. Anyway, from Awka to Onitsha and then back again is about 90km total. And I don't use A/C. So I guess, following the calculation for your Honda car, I think my car consumes more fuel. ![]() |
I own a Mazda Premacy 2001 model. But I feel it consumes a lot of fuel. I usually shuttle to Onitsha from Awka sometimes. I'd say that on average my car consumes about 10-11 litres from Awka to Onitsha and back to Awka again. Or in other words, it costs me 2k worth of fuel to make such journeys. So does it have good fuel economy or not? What are the criteria for judging whether a car has a good or bad fuel economy? What is the appropriate litre/kilometre ratio for such assessment? Thanks. |

TPAND:I think it's actually good news, since it would be to Nigeria's advantage not to cut oil production amidst the recession hitting us. |
This is hopefully good news for Nigeria's oil industry which sets to gain in the oil market as OPEC is finally agreeing to cut oil production. It would be the first time in eight years that the oil cartel would lower output. The agreement was reached on Wednesday at a meeting in Algiers. Oil prices surged more than 5% in reaction. A global glut of oil supply caused oil prices to crash over the last two years. And OPEC nations, led by Saudi Arabia, have refused to lower production until now. Under the agreement, OPEC oil production is expected to be reduced to 32.5 million barrels of oil per day from 33.4 million. Saudi Arabia, the largest oil producer, is expected to give up 350,000 barrels a day, according to a senior OPEC source quoting the final proposal. Other OPEC nations are expected to lower production too, though more details were not immediately clear. Three countries are exempted from the production cuts: Iran, Nigeria and Libya. Economic sanctions were lifted on Iran earlier this year, and Libya and Nigeria have had some of their oil facilities damaged by terrorist attacks in recent months. Oil prices were as high as $100 a barrel in mid-2014. But the global oversupply caused prices to plunge to as low as $26 a barrel in February. The volatility in oil caused stock markets to dive at the beginning of 2016. In recent months, oil prices have rebounded a bit and oil is currently hovering near $47 a barrel. http://money.cnn.com/2016/09/28/investing/oil-surges-after-opec-informal-meeting/index.html |

Good day, plz is there a way I can retrieve my lost contacts. I did not do MTN backup before my phone was stolen. It's a regular Nokia phone, but I've done a welcome back. Is there any slightest hope that I can retrieve some of my numbers, or are they forever lost? Thanks. |
One of Hollywood's highest profile marriages is over. Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from husband Brad Pitt, citing irreconcilable differences. According to the court documents, the pair separated on September 15, two years and one month after they married in August 2014. Jolie is seeking physical custody of their six children and asking the court to grant Pitt visitation. She is also asking to keep "miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects" as well as any earnings from after the date of their separation and other separate assets to be determined later. http://edition.cnn.com/2016/09/20/entertainment/angelina-jolie-brad-pitt-divorce/index.html

anigbajumo:Only? I mean the people directly involved with Muslims through teachings...the Imams. Their vehement condemnations can go a long way in curbing these Extremisms. |
anigbajumo:OK, but have you ever wondered why Islamic terrorism gets worse everyday? It is because the prominent Muslims keep silent. Many of these perpetrators of evil don't know what is contained in the Quran or Hadith...they only know what the Imams teach them. How many times have you heard a well-known Imam come out openly to condemn the actions of those whom you claim are tainting the image of Islam? Rarely. If powerful Muslims can unite, have a conference or form a coalition to combat those who are tainting the image of Islam, I think things wouldn't be as bad as it is currently. But nobody speaks out. They only condemn the actions in the quietness of their rooms, and behind the safety of their keyboards. |
anigbajumo: sarutobie:@anigbojumo, I'm waiting for your constructive reply to @sarutobie's post. I'm really not happy with the wanton killing of people in the name of blasphemy against a religion. Mind you sir, Christians do not tolerate blasphemy against Jesus, however they do not resort to killing to prove their point. They regard life as a very precious gift from God, which should never be taken, even for the reason of the 'an-eye-for-an-eye' principle. As a matter of fact, the bible warns Christians to forgive their offenders 70x7 times. So let's objectively reason together here. |
kabrud:I mean, how do you feel when you look into the eyes of a person and snuff his life out, not because he "did" a wrong to you or ur family, but just because he "said" something against a person you haven't seen or known personally? I mean, I must be sick or psychologically troubled to feel nothing when I take out a human life which I never created in the first place just because my religion says so. |
FarukuWadata12:Lol. Look at the way you are fuming with blood-thirst. How the hell did the world come to this stage?? |
dyoungforester:You don't get it, do you? The problem is not actually about killing or committing any crime, but killing because of a religion. How many non-muslims have you seen or heard committing crimes in revenge for blasphemy against their religion? It is absurd when people put religion first before dignity of human life. And you think you really know what is contained in the QURqN and HADITH? I can cite myriads of verses in those texts that prescribe violence to musllms as the only way to attain eternal pleasure. |
MKO4ever:"The famous concept of Islamic Jihad is legitimized by 164 verses of the Quran which explicitly detail how Muslim men should punish their enemy, and how to divide the spoils of war. Even today, Islamic suicide bombers and the Mujahideen (those engaged in Jihad) invariably recite and publicly carry their own personal copy of the Quran to justify their atrocities. Despite mendacious “moderate” Muslims desperately wriggling in their seats trying dismiss Jihad as a perversion of Islam, the brutal fact is that all Quranic verses are perpetual, and call for all Muslims to continue to expansion of the faith. And, unlike the bible’s ‘descriptive’ accounts of violence and wars (of which were ordained only for a certain period), the Quran’s ‘prescriptive’ revelations are considered eternal and the foundation of Islamic jurisprudence and Shariah law. Hence why we will never witness a permanent ceasefire or worldwide peace with any Islamic country as there are no verses in the Quran to abrogate Islamic Jihad, and call for mutual respect between Muslim and unbeliever." |
Nurozigi:OK, guy. I'm kinda busy right now to back up my facts, but I wish other folks will understand Islam the way you do, and accommodate other religions. |

Nurozigi:“Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” Quran 9:29 But, if they refuse... "As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the hereafter." Quran 3:56 |
Nurozigi:It is the Hadith that contains the traditions of Islam. You would not understand the Quran without the Hadith. By the way, here are the words of the Quran itself: “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” Quran 9:29 But, if they refuse... I had to obtain the application form for the Credited Advance Payment for Metering Implementation (CAPMI) Scheme. It is for the acquisition of a prepaid meter for my flat. But I am skeptical about it, especially with regards to the Affidavit containing the terms and conditions and indemnity clauses. Anyway, I intend to see my caretaker lawyer to fully understand them before I go to court to swear the affidavit, but I'm more concerned about what I'm going to expect by the time I get the meter. So dear Nairalanders here whom have obtained their prepaid meters via this scheme, plz how has it been esp in terms of payments and charges? What has been your experience so far, so I'd know whether I should subscribe to this or just continue using the estimated billing system? Mods plz move this topic to the right forum. Thanks. |
What is happening these days? Father raping daughter. Mother posing unclad with son. Mother cutting son's joystick. Mother poisoning child....etc It shows that the end is indeed nearer than we thought. |

Our life is like a puzzle, until the whole puzzle is fixed together, you cannot get the true picture. Everyone lives once only. Though all of us have plenty of dreams and goals, it usually ends up with nothing done. And a number of us end up just fulfilling what others want, but not what we truly enjoy. 50 is a critical age that we’re only left with half of the time, if we’re fortunate enough to live to 100. So why not do what you want and what can make you happy as soon as possible? Here are 30 inspiring things that worth a try before you turn 50. 1. Make something from scratch. It feels amazing to create something beautiful by yourself. 2. Find a phrase or quote that moves you and make it your personal mantra. Say it to yourself every day whenever you feel stressed or nervous. 3. Conquer a fear that you have struggled with for a long time. Fear only holds you back! 4. Treat yourself to something you really want, like a pair of expensive shoes. It is okay once in a while – you deserve to own something that makes you feel happy! 5. Send your parents flowers and tell them that you love them. 6. Write a letter to your partner or child to tell them how much you love and care for them. Everyone deserves to feel loved sometimes, and they will keep the letter for years to come. 7. Visit all of your country’s historical landmarks. It will help you to learn more about your country, and you will be inspired by the beautiful things you see. 8. Apply for your dream job. You never know what will happen! 9. Go without technology for a week. You will enjoy a very peaceful and tranquil week. 10. Do something that you may regret later. Sometimes the best things happen when we decide to take a risk. 11. Spend a night camping under the stars. 12. Live somewhere that is totally different to your home town. This will broaden your horizons and help you to understand alternative perspectives. 13. Quit a bad habit, e.g. eating too much at a time. 14. Email your hero to let them know how much they mean to you. Even if they never read it, you will feel better for writing it. 15. Make a fool of yourself without feeling embarrassed. 16. Go for a picnic on your own. You’ll learn to enjoy yourself. 17. Read jokes and laugh until your ribs hurt. 18. Learn something you’ve never imagined before. 19. Forgive yourself, for what you’ve regretted doing. 20. Forgive someone from your past. Holding on to bitterness is like buying poison and taking it yourself, so forgive them – even if it is only for your benefit. 21. Cut out any toxic friends you have. They will never change, and you don’t need that negativity. 22. Go on holiday with your best friends. Even if it is just one night away in the country it will be memorable, hilarious and fun. 23. Travel by yourself. You can spend the day doing exactly what you want, and you will fall in love with being alone all over again. 24. Forgive your parents for any mistakes they made while raising you. No-one is perfect, and everyone makes mistakes. 25. Read the books that everyone is always talking about. 26. Go out for a meal by yourself. Wear an outfit you love, order your favorite meal and leave whenever you are ready – bliss. 27. Volunteer for a good cause that is close to your heart. 28. Watch your favorite movie once again. 29. Watch the sunset. It may be a cliché, but it really is beautiful and awe-inspiring. 30. Learn a foreign language. It will make traveling easier, and it will expand your world perspective. http://worldgreatestquotes.online/30-things-youd-better-do-before-50/ |
