Politics / Re: Aliyu Condemns Those Rejoicing Over Yakowa's Death by fortyfeet(m): 6:03am On Dec 21, 2012
Metallurgist: One thing i hate is hypocrasy! Those smashing d whole northern muslims for the act of few gullible among us should also endevour to list the xtains that celebrate openly when both Abacha and yaradua died. In case of yakowa the next xtain deputy will celebrate (of course secretly) .......
Yes, I can remember people celebrating the death of Abacha openly but not Yaradua. At the death of Abacha, the entire country celebrated without religious attachment.
It is true the next deputy may celebrate secretly and even the present governor may have equally celebrated not the death of his boss but his elevation and secretly.
Secretly is the key word here. But when you come out in the open to celebrate, then a sentimental reasoning will be given to it and that is the concern here. Its not the celebration but the open celebration.
When Alamesieghe was impeached and GEJ had the opportunity to become the governor, he must have celebrated but not in the open and at the death of Yaradua.
So, let us be human that God made us and not animals of the lowest class.
Thank you.

confusion247: When Tunde Bakere said that Jonathan's destiny is to bankrupt Nigeria little did we know that he was saying the truth. Gold is Gold no matter who has it. El-rufai have said the truth and anybody judging his write up based on his party affiliation is making a mistake. Jonathan is not ready to fight corruption that's the simple truth.
And you don't think el-rufai is judging GEJ based on his party affiliation.
Am certain, el-rufai is now back and seen as nasir and no longer john.

Foreign Affairs / Re: What Happened After The 'Arab Spring'? by fortyfeet(m): 4:35am On Dec 03, 2012
Builder: Simple. Expect the rise of terror and terrorism. Due to the uncanny selfishness of the west for Libyan oil they proceeded and invaded a sovereign nation, we have seem how ordinary Libyans are scared to wander out of their houses for their daily bread, a country now fragmented and ruled by militias with sophisticated weapons, we have seen how black people are now locked up in the desert to die or locked in zoos.. oh and how the IMF and world bank have ruined the once debt-free country with debt that the unborn children of Libya will never stop paying while the resources of the great country have been divided by the "friends of Libya".. if the incident on September 11 in Libya is anything to go by the West, infact, the world is in disaster and they should prepare themselves for the second coming of Al Qaeda.

Through the 24 hours news channels, we have been lied to to believe the invasion was a cry-out for help by Libyans which was a fabrication of the truth. if only Libya or any other country can see the riots of the summer 2011 in London as a cry-out for help and topple the regime of David Cameron and the “Occupy Protest” in America as a cry-out to overthrow Obama

Karl Marx was right when he said history repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce. The world have seen what became of Iraq, a country invaded by the Americans for its oil, and its aftermath which is random suicide bombers, religious killings and other crimes unheard of pre-invasion. yet, we see the west again, doing all they can to topple the Assad government in Syria supplying the terrorist AKA rebels with weapons and financed by the NATO and Some unscrupulous regimes in the middle East, furthermore, employing Islamic fundamentalist to fight the Assad government all in the name of the myth called democracy, yet in Saudi Arabia where most of the 9/11 suicide bomber came from the western world and defenders of democracy have dome nothing but kiss the arse of the monarchy there… we have seem the British prime minister persuading the United Arab Emirates to buy 60 Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets in a deal reported to be worth more than £3bn while overlooking the terror and torture the Saudi govt dishes out to its citizens who demand a political reform, the rights of women and rights to practice religion freely.

The concept of Arab Spring is a term coined by the west to covertly carry out their devilish and selfish ends to invade and oppress any leader or country that refuses to bow from the pressure from the west. Obama openly praises the Arab spring as a step towards democracy and freedom but condemns the Palestinian struggle to be free from the shackles and apartheid regime of the Zionist.

i don’t need democracy. I just want liberty, justice, equality and above all a government that serves my needs and interest. Give me option to chose either Obama or Gadaffi.. i sure know who i will chose and its not Obama
You make the arabs look so dumb as not to know their right from their left. If it be so, then sorry, they are lesser beings (animals)
@Originalsly
"Have you ever heard of unemployment, health, terrorism, educational or homelessness in Libya?"
You won't hear because the regim forbids/prohibits anyone from talking or you die. If not for democracy, nairaland wouldn't have been or would have been a thing of the past.
EMBRACE DEMOCRACY AND PRACTICE IT WELL, THATS THE ONLY WAY TO GAIN THE GAIN.

Why will I leave my state to another state only to go and live in a dungeon. Its questionable. I rather remain in my village to farm. Before, I used to know the city to be for educated people and very few uneducated people brought from the village by the educated to live with them and help them with manual jobs. What on earth will someone who speaks and understands one local language be doing in the city on his own. JTF is doing their best and I do know one day, BH will become a history. Support JTF.

Am sure if d real guys are arrested they will be able trace their leaders. And why is that pple are arrested but few go to court and even fewer (rather non) get convicted?

Acid attack: Accused charged with attempted murder, granted bail NOVEMBER 30, 2012 BY KUNLE FALAYI 61 COMMENTS Chika and Sulaimon | credits: David Sulaimon, who allegedly bathed his estranged fiancée, Chika Egbo, with acid in Igando, Lagos State, has been charged with attempted murder. He was arraigned on two counts of attempted murder and “causing grievous bodily harm” at an Ebute-Meta Magistrate’s Court, Lagos a week ago. The police stated in the charge sheet, a copy of which our correspondent obtained on Thursday, “That you (Sulaimon) on November 5 at Bakare Street, Ikotun, Lagos, bathed Chika Egbo and Sunny Daniel with liquid substance suspected to be acid, to wit; attempted murder and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 228 (1) of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos 2011.” Magistrate O. Olatunji granted him N500, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum. The magistrate stated that the sureties must be blood relations and must present evidence of tax clearance. The case was adjourned till December 20. But, Egbo family lawyer, Mr. Nnabuike Edechime, has berated the police for neither informing him nor any member of the victim’s family that Sulaimon was going to be arraigned. Edechime said, “Why did the policemen who investigated the case at the State Criminal Investigation Department not inform us? I was informed only after the court hearing. “They could not even give us the copy of the charge sheet. I was directed to get it at the court.” The lawyer also expressed surprise that Sulaimon was granted bail. He said he would have tabled his concern before the magistrate if the police had informed him about the date of the arraignment. Edechime said, “For this kind of charge, the defendant should not be granted bail, at least not on liberal terms. “The victim (Chika) is still in danger. Right now, she is at the point of death. What if he (the accused) absconds? God forbid, what if the girl dies?” Our correspondent visited the Burn Unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, where Chika is receiving treatment, on Thursday but could not see her because she was being prepared for a second round of surgery. She had undergone a surgery to remove the dead skin on her body last week . Her father, Matthew, told PUNCH Metro that his only prayer is to see his daughter get better. But he said he was financially handicapped. He said, “Even transporting myself here and there and eating is becoming very hard right now. But my relations have been really helpful. They are the ones who have been paying for her treatment. “Chika has not been able to eat solid food. A pipe was passed through her to allow her breathe.” Our correspondent also learnt that she had been feeding on liquid nutrient through a drip. Chika, a student of the Enugu State College of Education, was allegedly bathed with acid by, Sulaimon on November 5. Their relationship reportedly went sour after Chika gave birth to a girl said to be fathered by Sulaimon. According to Chika’s father, Sulaimon invited her to Lagos from Enugu under the pretext that his mother wanted to see her and he poured the substance on her on their way to his mother’s home. The okada rider (Daniel) who took both Sulaimon and Chika on his motorcycle before the alleged attack sustained some burns in the process.

johnkent: You don't attend a wedding you're not invited to regardless of how close you are to the bride or groom. If they really want you there, you would have been invited.
Earlier this year, I attended a friends wedding without invitation. It was not really my intention to, but one other friend who was formally invited encouraged me to and I did. I equally made sure the celebrant saw me in the church by shocking hands with him immediately after the wedding service and also joined in one of the photos, also offered a gift. Till this day, am yet to receive a thank you for attending our wedding message or call. But, the other friend I went with within 24hrs was appreciated. Believe me, I travelled from Minna then to Enugu strictly to attend the wedding.
I see it as my worst decision so far in the year. You can learn from this.
