The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has released the names of six Nigerian financiers of terrrorist group, Boko Haram. The terror sponsors named by the UAE are Abdurrahaman Ado Musa, Salihu Yusuf Adamu, Bashir Ali Yusuf, Muhammed Ibrahim Isa, Ibrahim Ali Alhassan and Surajo Abubakar Muhammad, all Nigerians. The Emirate made the announcement after a federal cabinet meeting in the capital, Abu Dhabi on Monday, a state-run WAM news agency disclosed. The announcement came as the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao has charged personnel of the air component of Operation Hadarin Daji to sustain the onslaught against terrorists and armed bandits in the North-west. This is also as the Conservator General, National Park Service (NPS), Dr. Ibrahim Musa Goni, has raised the alarm that forest reserves and national parks had become hideouts for insurgents and armed bandits. The six terror sponsors were reportedly placed on the Emirate’s watch list. The decision came about a year after the six Nigerians were indicted for sponsoring Boko Haram. A Nigerian government official was alleged said to be involved in sponsorship of the dreaded sect that has killed over 100,000 civilians and security forces and inflicted untold economic damage on the country since its campaign began in 2009. The government official, it was gathered was yet to be publicly identified by the Emirati authorities, amidst claims that there was mounting diplomatic pressure not to publish the name. At least 47 other foreign nationals and entities were also added to the watch list by the UAE. Meanwhile, the Chief of the Air Staff has charged personnel of the air component of Operation Hadarin Daji to sustain the onslaught against terrorists and armed bandits in the North-west. Amao spoke while on operational tour of Air Component under Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) in Zamfara State. He said the present onslaught against bandits and their activities had continued to yield the expected outcome hence the need to remain focused disciplined and extra-vigilant until the security situation improves. This is not the time for you to be complacent or assume that we have overcome the enemy. Rather times like this calls for utmost discipline, alertness and extra focus on the task ahead”, he added. A statement by Nigerian Air Force said NAF Special Forces as well as its air element have continued to be key enablers and deciders in the fight against banditry in the North-west. “Indeed, in the last two months, several bandits have been neutralised through coordinated efforts between the air component, NAF special forces and other security elements in the theatre of operations. The joint operations, which is in its critical moments, has so far seen to the dislodging of key bandits’ leaders and their followers as well as the destruction of their strongholds”, it said. Meanwhile, the Conservator General, National Park Service (NPS), Dr. Ibrahim Musa Goni, raised the alarm that forest reserves and national parks had become hideouts for insurgents and armed bandits. Speaking during a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor in Abuja, he said, “these forest reserves and national parks which are approximately 1,129 square metres have become hideout for bandits and terrorists.” Goni emphasised the need to sustain the existing synergy by working together to tackle the current security challenges facing the nation. Responding, Irabor, who was represented by the Chief of Defence Policy and Plans, Air Vice Marshal Dahiru Sanda, reiterated the commitment of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) in collaborating with the NPS, describing the service as a key agency in the security architecture of the nation. He maintained that the relevant stakeholders must support the organisation towards ensuring that the forests are well protected against criminalities. The CDS charged NPS on the need to dominate the nation’s forests in terms of intelligence gathering and sharing of information with the military and other security agencies so as to checkmate every form of terror and other crimes. |

The universe is blessed with many versatile creatures, which are unique. Mankind was created completely in physical features. But have you ever seen an individual with two toes? We will find out in this article. The Vadoma tribe is also called Bantwana, which means "descendants or children". The tribe is one of the oldest in Africa and happens to be the only hunter-gatherer tribe in Zimbabwe, currently living in the Kanyemba region. In this village, marriage outside the tribe is forbidden and these two-towed human beings are in existence. They are also identified as the " Ostrich-footed tribe". It is unlawful for members to marry outside the tribe as a result, the two-towed condition does not extend to other ethnic groups. Members with the condition are not regarded as disabled persons in the community, as their toes help them climb trees easily. The two-towed ailment is a result of the rare genetic condition called "Ectrodactyly Syndrome". This occurs when there is the absence of one or more toes or fingers at birth. Their condition is genetically passed on from generation to generation, and because of that, they are not allowed to marry elsewhere apart from their indigenous people. They cannot run, neither can they wear shoes. People of this tribe are only able to walk to hunt for games or collect food, but with little difficulty. Medically, the condition among the Vadoma people arises from a mutation of chromosome number 7. A dominantly inherited genetic mutation survives when it has more beneficial effects, no wonder the two-towed feet help them climb trees. The African mindset makes them believe that they emerged from a Baobab tree with others also claiming their forefathers were like birds who emerged from the sky, settled on earth, and later mingled with women, to produce young ones of their kind. A suspect identified as Adewunmi Kehinde has narrated how his gang members burnt a Point of Sale (POS) agent alive after robbing the victim. During an interview with Punch, Kehinde narrated how he lured his victim to death. Officers of the Ogun State Police Command have finally apprehended a suspect after his multiple escapes. The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi, revealed that officers from the command had trailed Kehinde to Otun-Ekiti in Ekiti State. The suspect managed to escape from Ekiti State to Offa in Kwara State. Also, police officers trailed Kehinde to Offa, but he fled to Cotonou. Police reportedly laid an ambush around the Lagos to Ibadan boundary, where Kehinde was eventually apprehended. Speaking concerning how he and members of his gang lured their victim, Kehinde said, "I got to meet Bisi during my police case at Alagolo Police station. Bisi was the sales attendant to the POS agent, and she came with her boss to carry out my transaction. After the incident at Alagolo, Bisi contacted and asked me to rob her boss, she emphasized that we must kill her boss, as leaving him alive will come with consequences. She asked me to invite the victim for a 4 million Naira transaction while assuring me that she will convince him to come. I proceeded to invite MS and the twins for the operation, and we held a meeting." Narrating further, Kehinde said, "As planned, we invited the victim for a business transaction, and he met us at Oju Ore area. The twins were seated at the back seat while our victims sat in their midst. MS sat in the front seat while I drove the vehicle to a bush around Atan road. I stayed in the car while other gang members took the victim into an uncompleted building where they burnt him alive." PPRO Abimbola dismissed some of Kehinde's claims by saying, "The victim was eager about the profit he would make from a 4 million Naira transaction, as it would be enormous. We have arrested three other suspects including their receiver. Kehinde informed us that his gang targets POS agents and Uber drivers. Their modus operandi is that a gang member will lure an Uber driver to an area where other gang members have laid an ambush. After arriving at the destination, the gang members will attack the driver with machetes and kill him." Speaking further, Abimbola said, "After burning the POS agent, Kehinde's gang attacked an Uber driver, and fled with his vehicle. Luckily, the driver survived. We have arrested their receiver and their mechanic. The mechanic repairs their stolen cars before they dispose of them to their buyer. We have investigated all his claims and invited the sales attendant of the victim, but he said she wasn't his insider. We also invited other sales attendants that have worked with the victim, but Kehinde couldn't identify any. The suspect will be charged to court when the investigation is concluded." https://news-af.feednews.com/news/detail/8bf982d55a6c86cf2a1c37c4e781f8dc?client=news

Tuesday is the day of the week between Monday and Wednesday. According to international standard ISO 8601, Monday is the first day of the week; thus, Tuesday is the second day of the week. According to some commonly used calendars, however, especially in the United States, Sunday is the first day of the week, so Tuesday is the third day of the week. The English name is derived from Old English Tiwesdæg and Middle English Tewesday, meaning "Tīw's Day", the day of Tiw or Týr, the god of single combat, and law and justice in Norse mythology. Tiw was equated with Mars in the interpretatio germanica, and the name of the day is a translation of Latin dies Martis. The god Týr or Tiw, identified with Mars, after whom Tuesday is named. Just recently in the Big Brother Naija house, Queen was caught on camera telling Angel not to go anywhere close to Whitemoney's bed. Whitemoney told Angel that she is going to sleep in his bed this week and Angel in her response to Whitemoney accepted his offer for her to sleep on his bed but Queen who was present when he made the offer wasn't having any of it. In her statement she said "Angel, do not try sleeping in Whitemoney's bed, my big waist is enough for him. I am enough for him". While they were talking, Angel tried getting close to Whitemoney but Queen chased her away. This made Whitemoney to state that he does not mind sharing the bed with both ladies as Angel has a bigger chest while Queen has a bigger backside, so he would like to balance it.

A bill that was brought before the house of representatives on Thursday to jail protesters for five years has reportedly passed the first reading. The Bill entitled: ‘An Act To Amend The Criminal Code ACT, CAP 38, Laws Of The Federation Of Nigeria, 2004 To Further Preserve The Sanctity Of Human Life And Property, And To Provide Specifically For Mob Action, Prescribe Punishment And Other Matters’, is sponsored by Rep. Emeka Chinedu Martins (PDP-Imo). According to Sahara Reporter, the Bill has been approved by the House for a second reading. The provisions of the proposed Act, are as follows: (1) The provisions of the Criminal Code Act, (in this Bill referred to as the “Principal Act”) is amended as set out in this Bill (2) Substitute for section 69 of the Principal Act, a new section 69. “Definitions: Unlawful assembly, Riot, Mob action (a) When three or more persons, with intent to carry out some common purpose, assemble in such a manner or, being assembled, conduct themselves in such a manner as to cause persons in the neighbourhood to fear on reasonable grounds that the persons so assembled will tumultuously disturb the peace, or will by such assembly needlessly and without any reasonable occasion provoke other persons tumultuously to disturb the peace, they are an unlawful assembly. It is immaterial that the original assembling was lawful if, being assembled; they conduct themselves with a common purpose in such a manner as aforesaid”. It also states that, “An assembly of three or more persons who assemble for the purpose of protecting any house against persons threatening to break and enter the house in order to commit a felony or misdemeanour therein is not an unlawful assembly. “(c) When an unlawful assembly has begun to act in so tumultuous a manner as to disturb the peace, the assembly is called a riot, and the persons assembled are said to be riotously assembled. “(d) When an unlawful assembly becomes violent as to commit unlawful acts against any person or property, the assembly is called a mob and their violent act is referred to as mob action”. It adds that “(a) Any person who takes part in a riot is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for three years. “(b) Any person who takes part in a mob action is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for five years. (4) Substitute for Section 76 of the Principal Act, a new section 76: (a) Section 76. Mob action against any person or property. “Any persons who assembled together as a mob to commit violent act against any person or property are guilty of a felony and each of them is liable to imprisonment for life”. The Bill explains that it “seeks to amend the Criminal Code Act, Cap 38, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 to further preserve the sanctity of human life and property, and to provide specifically for the crime of mob action, prescribe punishment and other matters connected therewith”. The sponsor of the piece of legislation against unlawful protesters, in his lead debate, said: “Mr Speaker, my highly respected colleagues, permit me to lead the debate on this very important Bill titled the Criminal Code Act Amendment Bill, 2021. “This Bill was read for the first time in this Hallowed Chamber. Mr. Speaker, my honourable colleagues, this Bill seeks to amend the Criminal Code Act Cap 38, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004, to provide specifically for the crime of mob action, prescribe punishment and for other related matters. “Mr Speaker, every now and then we hear and read in the news of mobs moving against people and properties. “The word “mob” connotes a disorderly crowd of people, intent on causing trouble or violence. It is usually triggered spontaneously by accusations of a bystander, then joined by another and then another till it turns into a crowd of vengeful people causing carnage and destruction on its path. “The danger with mob action is that participants typically believe they are punishing an accused for violation of the law, when in fact they are delivering jungle justice to an accused who may be totally innocent and has not been given an opportunity to be fairly heard. They serve as accusers, judges, and executors. “Most participants in mob actions are usually not informed first-hand about the situation before joining the destructive crowd in blind rage to carry out their orgy of violence. “There have been records of crowds inflicting fatal injuries on their targets and destroying and looting properties based on unfounded accusations of theft of an item, allegations of missing genitals, witchcraft and blasphemy. “As quickly as the mob causes carnage, the participants disperse in all directions, making it difficult for them to be apprehended. “A notable case is that of the Aluu Four in 2012, involving four male students from the University of Port Harcourt who went to recover a debt, but were set up and accused of theft leading to their gruesome murder by a mob in Aluu, Rivers State. “More recently in 2016, a man accused of homosexuality was beaten to death in Ondo State. Another man was also lynched in Ebonyi State, over accusations of theft of motorcycle. There have also been records of similar incidents this year. “The failure of our law enforcement agents to prevent mob justice or punish those who participate in it has lent an air of acceptability to this vile practice. How often people resort to jungle justice as a form of punishment to alleged offenders is also a testament to the fact that people have lost faith in the criminal justice system. Ever too often the participants in mob actions go unpunished. “The Criminal Code Act in section 69 defines riot as when an unlawful assembly turns tumultuous as to disturb the peace, but did not provide for when the unlawful assembly turns violent against persons and property. “This amendment to the Bill seeks to remedy that by providing for specific amendments to sections 69, 71, and 76 of the Criminal Code Act dealing with mob action and further prescribing punishment for the crime. “The amendment to the Act will encourage our law enforcement agencies to go after persons involved in mob action and give impetus to the criminal justice system to bring such offenders to book. “If more participants in mob action are apprehended and publicly prosecuted it will serve as a deterrent to others. “I therefore humbly urge you to support the second reading of this Bill and its legislative proposal”. https://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2021/7/new-bill-to-jail-protesters-for-5-years-passes-first-reading-in-house-of-reps.html

God have mercy on me. Nobody is a saint we all have one way or the other done something bad while in school. Let me tell a story. I was 16 and just finished high school when a friend pimped me out to her sugar daddy for N30,000 in 2005. I couldn't date the man because he was far older than me. He kept calling and we later became friends without any attachment. I gained admission to university and I was basically training myself in school by doing menial jobs. Things became so hard that I had no choice than to call on my older friend to assist but he gave me one condition to sleep with him. I had no choice cos I was exhausted already from seeing myself through school plus I didn't want to drop out, I was in 300l and was 21yrs old. That year was the best year of my life cos this man really spoilt me with lots of goodies and the rest. In my final year in school, my older lover had returned from overseas so I left my school in Enugu and came down to Lagos without my family's knowledge to visit him and collect my goodies plus allowance. Beloved I got to his house and after all the pleasantries we went down to s#x, guess what? while he was ejaculating he had cardiac, as in he was on me when the attack happened. Naïve me pushed him off my body and rushed down to get help as I didn't know what to do. I got his nephew who immediately rushed upstairs, did what he could do and we both rushed him to the hospital. We got to the first hospital he was rejected, arrived to the second hospital he was pronounced dead. *Tears* This sugar daddy of mine was a top naval officer overseas. The nephew called his brother and that one arrived immediately at the hospital with police. I was arrested and taken to the station to explain what happened. I got to the station, I explained how I knew and how long we have known each other. I lied we were at the dining when he said he wanted to go take his bath, when I heard a loud sound on rushing to the room I saw him face down and that was when I rushed down to call for help. Only God knew how this lie came about because I was in shock and couldn't start saying how he had cardiac arrest while releasing on me. How the police believed me is only God knows because his brother's intention was to lock me up. They took me back to his mansion to inspect, we got there and everything was as it was no violence God knows I would never have thought to harm my benefactor God forbid. I loved him and was even planning to join him overseas after school. The police explained to the family how it was obvious I never killed him and they have to conduct autopsy to ascertain cause of death. My beloved that was how I was released that night. I went straight to my aunty's house who also benefited from him. God bless her for understanding. All through that night I was still in shocked. It was in the morning that it dawned on me that Lucky was actually dead and gone for good. For 3 days straight days,I was useless and was shocked on how I narrowly escaped been labelled a murderer at 21yrs old. After some weeks with my aunty I went back to school as a shadow of myself. Thank God I was even through with my final exams and was waiting to defend my project. My family till today don't know I have ever gone through that stage in my life. I wish I could turn the hands of clock back I could have saved him. It's quiet unfortunate I couldn't help. Until his death that was when I knew who he truly was. I know he took advantage of me but he was helpful and the few yrs of dating him was my best. I pity that poor girl to have decided to ruin her life by killing her benefactor. She would have just chop and move on. Nobody is a saint so no one should say rubbish to me. I have confessed to God and I am sure He has forgiven me. I decided to share this story after more than 10 yrs it happened. That was my only first and last sugar daddy I ever had. I am married now with two kids. All I pray to God is to not allow my kids to go into trouble because of lack. Peace........ https://www.stelladimokokorkus.com/2021/06/friday-in-house-news_02054196269.html?m=1 |
