Crime Guard revealed that Deanne’s parents initially kicked against their daughter’s relationship with Sly, as he was popularly called. But blinded by love, she reportedly insisted on settling down with Sly, who looked every inch a lady’s man, owing to his seeming appealing looks and physique.Upon her graduation in 2008, Deanne’s father reportedly bought her car. But along the line, she got pregnant for Sylvester, thereby deferring her mandatory one year Youth Service Corps till 2011. The development, compelled Deanne’s parents to soft -pedal on their initial position. A formal introduction, as gathered, was made preparatory to the marriage ceremony proper, which, unfortunately, never held until the unexpected happened."what an old man see while sitting ,a young man cannot see it even if he climb the tallest tree" goes an adage in my village. young girlie's should listen to their parent especially when ask to STOP seeing a particular GUY ,some Guys are really fake |
Lying on her back , 28 year olds Deanne Igho, a graduate of Accounting from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers state, slowly opened her eyes for the first time after several hours in the theatre. But she could feel only in the right eye. She did not why. But pictures of the incident that occurred at her matrimonial home in far away Port -Harcourt, on October 7, 2011 returned to her. Only then did it occur to her that she will never see with her left eye again, except by divine intervention, no thanks to the handiwork of her husband of barely one year. Deanne, who is currently undergoing the mandatory one year Youth Service in Port -Harcourt reportedly had a quarrel with her heartthrob, Sylvester Emezi two weeks ago, during which the latter allegedly pierced her eye ball with a sharp object. Her shout for help, rent the air at 2a.m. but no one could come to her rescue. The mother of one’s pleas to her husband to take her to the hospital fell on deaf ears as he reportedly left the house and locked her inside. Bleeding profusely from the deep cut in the eye ball and eye lid, Deanne banged on the door and at the same time, made frantic calls on her phone for help. But none came until she reportedly passed out. Her little baby who at that moment , woke up, had his body stained with the blood from her mother’s injury. He cried uncontrollably, apparently calling her attention, which unfortunately , was far from his reach. Hours later, there were bangs on the door with the visitors calling out to Deanne. But there was dead silence from within. The door was reportedly forced open where, to the visitors dismay, Deanne was found in the pool of her blood on the ground, from where she was subsequently rushed to a private hospital, where the doctor suggested that they should go to a specialist hospital owing to the magnitude of the damage to the eye. News currently making the rounds in Port Harcourt are that Sylvester intended using his wife’s eye ball for ritual purposes. Reports had it that the man allegedly ran into a debt of N5 million and in his bid to pay, approached a herbalist who demanded that he brought his wife’s eye ball with which a concoction would be prepared. On application of the concoction, report said the lender would completely forget about the money . This claim, as gathered, would form part of Police investigation with the possible arrest of the purported herbalist. Meanwhile, after the incident, Crime Guard gathered that Sylvester bolted away from Port-Harcourt, without anyone knowing his whereabouts. Unknown to all, he was lodging in a hotel in Festac Town area of Lagos, in preparation to leave the country as investigation later revealed. But unfortunately for him, Nero(the victim brother), as gathered, got wind of his whereabouts following which he paid him a surprise visit last Sunday, in the company of a friend. Sighting the duo, Sylvester reportedly attempted to sneak away but was accosted by Nero and his friend. Nero, as gathered, spoke to him in a soft tone and succeeded in cajoling him to, at least, go and see his father-in-law, so that the case could be resolved. But on reaching his father-in-law’s Dopemu-Agege abode, he was apprehended by the Police, from where he was taken to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARs), Ikeja. Investigation by Crime Guard revealed that Deanne’s parents initially kicked against their daughter’s relationship with Sly, as he was popularly called. A formal introduction, as gathered, was made preparatory to the marriage ceremony proper, which, unfortunately, never held until the unexpected happened. Along the line, she reportedly sold her car for the family upkeep. In spite of her sacrifice, Sylvester, as gathered, failed to reciprocate the gesture, as on several occasions, Deanne always complained about his coming home late and his uncaring attitude towards her and their son. However, in a chanced meeting with Sylvester before he was taken to Port-Harcourt for more investigations by the Police, he wore an expressionless disposition, blaming his indulgence on provocation orchestrated by the devil. read more on this link: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/10/man-plucks-out-wife’s-eye-ball-for-ritual/

Thu, 20/10/2011 - ADESUA TSAN , In a bid to address the rising wave of kidnapping and hostage-taking across the country, members of the House of Representatives have taken steps to prescribe death by hanging as a penalty for the crime in Nigeria. Speaking on the bill, members argued that life jail sentence was too mild for kidnappers as punishment considering the torture they cause their victims. The Director-General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig-Gen Nnamdi Okore Affia, spoke when the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), Prof Attahiru Jega, visited him in Abuja. He said: “We cannot continue to jeopardise the investment parents make on their wards on the altar of insecurity. “We cannot continue risking their lives; killing of corps members is not part of the agenda of the scheme.” Jega said he visited the NYSC headquarters to secure the use of the corps members as ad hoc staff during the governorship and local government polls. He said since national integration is one of the motives of the scheme, the corps members should be involved in the election process. On October 14, 2011 • In News , BY Favour Nnabugwu & Awa Nnenna Corruption expose @ Ministry of Education by New minister The Housing for All Teachers, HAT, scheme is already embedded in fraud even before the commencement of the scheme as administrative fees paid by intending developers were paid into an unknown account. The scheme, which was conceived by the Federal Government in 2007 and launched last year, was to cater for the welfare of teachers in the country. Minister of State for Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike, made the relevation in Abuja, saying the fraud was perpetrated without the knowledge of the Director, Finance and Administration, in the Ministry. The scheme was to make the teeming primary and secondary school teachers in the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory become proud landlords. Wike said: “I held a meeting with those who claimed they were building houses for teachers. If you see the amount of fraud, you will not believe it, hence they are pushing me to sign some papers on the scheme and l told them to take it easy. Then God told me to summon all these people who are applying and they all came, over 1000. “I asked them to produce the letter they got for their award, and where the land they were going to develop was. No land. Where was the agreement that the ministry gave them? Any assignment? No agreement. Now, how do you get your money?“Meanwhile they have been compelling developers to pay some administrative charges and when I asked where was that of the administrative charges paid, they said in the bank, which bank? It was a problem. “I called the DFA, he is seated here, and I asked where is the money being paid? For the first time, the DFA did not know that money was being paid into a different account.” Wike, however, said all hands must be on deck to help President Goodluck Jonathan right the wrongs in the system. He said: “I am saying this because we have problems and we must help Mr. President, at least, to change in certain things that are going on.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/10/money-for-teachers-housing-scheme-diverted-minister/ |

, WICKED: Man chopped off baby brother’s hand On October 13, 2011 • BY TONY NYONG, UYO BABY Etimbuk John, a three-week old boy, had a close shave with death, but divine providence intervened to keep him alive perhaps as a destiny child. Man’s inhumanity against a fellow man came his way rather too early, with the result that he would have to live the rest of his life with one hand. Having been delivered safe and sound, with hands gesturing and legs kicking, innocent and harmless Etimbuk could not have known he would soon lose one of his arms. The people of the ever-quiet village of Udung Otung, in Oruk Anam Local Government Area, are still trying to come to terms with the tragic incident that visited the peaceful town, leaving the innocent baby a victim. Although the baby appeared calm when Vanguard Metro, VM, visited the hospital, his mother was still stunned by the tragedy, while the nurses were scared of talking. The little baby, however, seemed to have become used to his condition as he seems undisturbed by the people that came to sympathise with the mother. Before now, Etimbuk who looked frightened always cried profusely and refused the mother’s breast milk owing to his condition. His mother, Mrs. Enobong John, narrated how her son, who was born with two hands, lost his right hand due to the cruelty of Nathaniel John, his half-brother. Kitchen chores Enobong said she bathed her baby in the morning of Tuesday, September 27, 2011 and when the baby had slept after being breast-fed, she took him to bed and went for her kitchen chores. But three minutes after she left the baby, she heard him yelling from inside the room. She said that she took the cry to mean lack of warmth, and went on with the chores. Cry of pain, Baby Etimbuk after his right hand was cut off by his step-brother According to her, it was not until her first son, Israel John, went into the room and saw the baby covered in blood, that he ran out frightened and shouting. That was when she rushed inside to see what had happened and found the baby in a pool of blood, with his right hand cut off. She stated that it was at that instance she recalled seeing Nathaniel John (27 years), her step-son, scurrying out of the room breathing heavily. “When I finished bathing and breast-feeding my baby, he began to sleep. I took him to bed and went into the kitchen to do some work. But his half-brother who is about 27 years old went inside and cut off his hand. “He never stayed in Udung Otong, our village in Oruk Anam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. He lived in Calabar. Anytime he came back home, he used to do things as if he was mentally-deranged. We never quarrelled. But he was in the habit of scaring away little children playing around, making noise, and often times would want to hurt them,” she told VM She also informed that since the day Nathaniel amputated her son’s right hand, she has not seen him. Enobong told VM that after she raised alarm about what happened to her son, she later heard that the young men in the village in a vengeful fit of anger , carried out jungle justice on the suspect. “I have not seen him since he amputated my son’s right hand. I learnt he had been apprehended by the young men of the village and had been killed. This happened on Tuesday, September 27,” she explained She said her husband had not been working since he retired as a labourer many years ago, adding that he could not come to the hospital from Oruk Anam because he is old and infirm. The Police Public Relations Officer, Akwa Ibom State Command, Mr. Onyeka Orji, said the act is a criminal offence . That is a pointer to members of the public that they should not be too trusting. We should mind the kind of people we leave our children and wards with. People should properly screen the people they leave their children and wards with”. Concerning the allegation that Nathaniel had been killed, Orji answered that he was unaware of the development as the matter is still being investigated by the police. The Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee, Dr. Emem Bassey, told VM that he needed to be careful with the matter since a government official had spoken with him on the telephone to be careful with issues concerning the amputation. The Executive Director of UyaiIban Akwa Ibom (a ministry dedicated to the helping of children), Mrs. Favour Onobo, said if not for her timely intervention the baby would have died. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/10/wicked-man-chopped-off-baby-brother’s-hand/ |
