I think Trump has seen whats happening on the battlefield. If any country can have access to wholistic information on the war, it would be the US. They are at the centre of military and intelligence control for all western countries and everyone plugs into their resources.

The Europeans leaders are either still ignorant of the reality, or they are posturing with the hope that if there is enough outcry against Russia, Putin will be manipulated to at least compromise on some of his demands.

I think it's working but Putin is not a fool. He will give them enough to not look like a beast, but not enough to make them look smart.
