Politics / Dino Melaye Arrested Again, Bundled To SARS Headquarters by freakyamanda(f): 11:51am On Apr 24, 2018
Operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad Tuesday morning arrested embattled lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West senatorial district.

The lawmaker, according to reliable sources, was arrested by the SARS and subsequently detained in a facility located opposite the old CBN junction along the Area 1 Expressway.

The SARS detention facility is known for imprisoning hardened criminals arrested for theft, murder, cultism and other criminal acts.
When the fiery lawmaker was contacted on phone by DAILY POST, he sounded rattled, as background conversation suggested a struggle between himself and some of the operatives, after which his mobile lines were switched off.

It would be recalled that initial attempts were made by the police to arrest Senator Melaye after immigration officials disembarked him from a flight to Morocco on Monday morning.

Following his release after three hours detention at the immigration office at the airport, the lawmaker’s house was besieged by over 80 armed policemen from yesterday until the early hours of Tuesday.
Celebrities / ‘the Child Is My Son; Everything Else Is A Lie’, Wande Coal Opens Can Of Worms by freakyamanda(f): 4:26pm On Apr 19, 2018
Earlier this week, news made the rounds that singer Wande Coal has a son with a woman whom he abandoned and refused access to her son.

The ”Turkey Nla” crooner has officially released a statement on the occurrence. Read it below…

Read the statement below:

I want to start by saying that the only truth that has been said so far, is that the child is my son. Everything else is a lie. I honestly do not want to say much because at the end of the day, this is family and Temitope is the mother of the child but I must clarify a few things that she has failed to mention to blogs and websites who have refused to fact-check this story. Things that she has used to attack my character and the reputation of my family.

Temitope has failed to mention to the public that she did not tell me she was pregnant with my son. I didn’t even know she was pregnant. She married another man and claimed that the child was his and she never told me. We (my family) only knew about the child after her husband and other people, including her aunty, found out the child looked like me. She was returned to her family with the child. The Child was taken to D’banj’s mother who then reached out to my mother and asked for a paternity test to be done. This is why the paternity test was done in 2010 and not 2008. The house the Mo’Hits Crew stayed in at the time was owned by Dbanj’s mother and as Mo’Hits grew, everyone moved to the Maryland house. I did not leave the neighbourhood. Everyone knew where we moved to.

After we confirmed that the child was mine, my mother visited Temitope and everyone agreed that the child needed a cleaner and better environment. My mother took the child, Temitope and her sister to our house for a week. After that week, Temitope left and has not returned since to check on the child. Not even on his birthdays. In 2011, my mother reached out to Temitope and told her that she was disappointed in her. Temitope promised to come visit the child. She never did.

Temitope was in a “fashion school” which she left for reasons best known to her. Not because of the baby as she was married to someone else. My mother paid for a full session in another fashion school to make sure she had something to support herself. Temitope stopped attending three months after she started. If my mother didn’t want to see her, or allow her near the child, why would she do that for her?

The claim that she was refused entry to the house is also a lie. My parents have not changed phone numbers, neither have they moved from the house since the child was given to us. Why hasn’t she taken her family to my parents’ house if she was refused entry? She has both my father and mother’s numbers.

I have read things that blogs have stated that my mother said and I can say confidently that my mother would never say such a thing. I must also clarify that when I knew Temitope, she was 20 years old and the name “Joseph” is not my son’s name. That was the name she and her husband named him.

My parents are respectable and God fearing people, and it is disrespectful for anyone to portray them as Temitope, or blogs and media platforms have portrayed them.

The only reason I will not press charges is because she is the mother of the child. Temitope, stop telling lies. You have a chance to correct this error. No one has stopped you from seeing the child. No one will. I am focused on my career and building a future for my family and if you truly care about the child as you claim, you and your family should reach out to my family.

I love my son and this is the kind of madness I work hard to protect him from. I have said enough as these issues are family matters and I want to keep the rest of it that way.

For the record, the woman in that picture is not my mother and I do not know who she is.

Thank you.

Ghanaian actress, Moesha Boduong, who went viral after her controversial interview with Christine Amanpour, has found a man who claims to be head over heels in love with her.

In her CNN interview, Moesha had claimed that Ghanaian women cannot survive their nation’s economic hardship without financial support by rich boyfriends.

After her interview became social media sensation, a Ghana-based Colombian rapper, Andres Rodriguez, popularly known as MC Dementor, took to his Facebook page to profess his undying love for Moesha.

MC Dementor said he was not interested in having sex with her, but he just wanted her to help him spend his money.

He wrote, “Someone tell Moesha that I been having my eyes on her for long. Now that I know she loves money. She should come to MoneyPaPa Mc Dementor.

“But I never want sex from her anyways. But I will buy her the world if she’s ready to do these with me: Go to the parks and watch the sun set, Go do yoga together, tell me some sweet things before I sleep. Make me my morning tea. Travel the world with me. Go see some good movies together. Would you still love me Moesha?? No Sex!! More money for you!! And I’m handsome too.”

The musician’s comments come on the heels of the recent interview the actress granted to CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, where she revealed that she slept with men to take care of herself.

After the interview which went viral, Moesha Babiinoti Boduong attracted heavy criticisms from social media users, especially for saying Ghana’s economy makes it impossible for women to make ends meet without trading their bodies for sex.

Sports / After Demolishing Man City, Can Liverpool Win The Champions League by freakyamanda(f): 12:51pm On Apr 11, 2018
On a night for heroes, they came dressed in Red.

It looked for a while like it could be a night of pain and suffering for Liverpool supporters. Boy, were they put through the wringer. The Etihad must have felt like a torture chamber at times as the Manchester City ‘thunderstorm’ swept over Jurgen Klopp’s men.

But, when there’s an Egyptian King stood there, arms outstretched in front of the away end, the fear and the panic and the chewed fingernails don’t seem all that bad.

Yes, Liverpool are into the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in a decade, their love affair with this competition is well and truly back. And, having survived this, they’ll fear nothing.

Not Real Madrid nor Bayern Munich, should they confirm their spots in Friday’s draw as expected, and certainly not Roma, who provided the real shock of the night in beating Barcelona . Mo Salah’s night will have been made complete by the incredible news out of Italy. Is a reunion with his former club on the cards, perhaps?

Once more, it was Salah who provided the decisive moment at a time when Liverpool needed him most. They had been stretched to breaking point during a first half in which City had thrown everything their way. They lived on their nerves, played poorly generally, and were indebted to the officials – and the woodwork – on at least one occasion. It was petrifying to watch at times. But City, who were brilliant in the first 45 minutes, had only Gabriel Jesus’ second-minute goal to show for their dominance--

Politics / We Don’t Want Grandpa As President Anymore: Fayose Rubbishes Buhari by freakyamanda(f): 11:46am On Apr 10, 2018
Ekiti State governor, and prominent critic of the APC, Ayo Fayose has released a new barage of attack on the president an the Federal government following President Buhari’s declaration yesterday that he will be running for second term in 2019.

Fayose said Buhari’s election bid is dead on arrival. He stated last night on his Twitter page:

“That 2nd term ambition of President Buhari is dead on arrival. We don’t want Grandpa as president anymore. Nigeria does not deserve a Buhari as president in 2019. He is old and tired. When people don’t know when to take their leave & say bye, Nigerians will show them the exit door”

“Buhari has failed in all fronts. He has failed in his so-called fight against corruption, he has failed in the economic front. He has not done well in term of security. Gruesome killing of Nigerians is now a daily occurrence in Nigeria.”

“Buhari has done more harm to this country. His ambition is a means by which Nigerians will tell him good riddance to bad rubbish when they boot him out of office. He is an easy candidate to defeat in the poll because he has failed woefully.”

On the recent Offa attack, which left over 17 people dead, Fayose criticized government response and handling of the situation.

“I’m still wondering how long it will take Police Helicopters to get to Offa from Abuja or Lagos. Robbery operation lasted for over one hour and there were no Why police helicopters to trail the robbers? Are those helicopters owned just for decorations?

Politics / Nigerians Clamoured For My Second Coming-buhari by freakyamanda(f): 4:23pm On Apr 09, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday said his decision to seek re-election in 2019 was based on the clamour by Nigerians.

According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the President said this at a closed-door meeting of the National Executive Council of the ruling All Progressives Congress, held at the party’s headquarters in Abuja.

The statement read, “President Muhammadu Monday in Abuja declared his intention to seek re-election in 2019.

“President Buhari made the declaration at a closed-door meeting of the National Executive Council of the All Progressives Congress.

“The President said he was responding to the clamour by Nigerians to re-contest in 2019, adding that he wanted to give NEC the honour of notifying them first.

“Shortly before making the declaration, the President presented a speech on the report submitted by the APC National Executive Technical Committee.”

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Buhari had earlier presented a speech on the report submitted by the APC National Executive Technical Committee, and specifically thanked members of the committee for carrying out its assignment on time.

“It shows a great sense of commitment to the ideals of our party with a view to consolidating and positioning the party to continue delivering good governance in the overall interest of Nigerians.

“With the present state of the party and based on the report submitted by the Technical Committee, it is important to focus on how to move the party forward by avoiding actions detrimental to the interest of the party.

“Considering that politics is a game of numbers, we must not be a house divided against itself and must try to note, appreciate and accommodate our differences as far as the law permits.

“Upon my review of the Report, my position is to ensure that the party tows the path of unity, legality and cohesion and not that of division,’’ NAN quoted Buhari as saying.

Business / Petrolex Reveals Plans For Second Phase Of $5b Mega Oil City In Ogun State by freakyamanda(f): 1:59pm On Mar 28, 2018
Chairman of Petrolex Oil and Gas, Mr Segun Adebutu, has revealed plans by his firm to pump about $5 billion into the economy of Ogun State.

Mr Adebutu made this disclosure at the just-concluded two-day Ogun State Investors Forum held in Abeokuta, the state capital. Speaking at the forum, the Petrolex boss hailed Ogun State as a front-burner in industrial development, including oil and gas. He also commended the governor, Mr Ibikunle Amosun, for the robust support provided during the construction of the Petrolex Mega Oil City at Ibefun, beginning in 2011, when he shared the plan.

According to Mr Adebutu, he was elated when the first phase of the mega oil city, a 300 million-litre capacity tank farm was completed.

“Many people thought an oil and gas hub in Ogun State was farfetched and impossible” Mr Adebutu said.

“On December 12, 2017, I declared that Ogun state is now home to the largest tank farm in Sub-Saharan Africa. But that is just Phase 1 of the project,” he added.

He said the next phase of the Petrolex Mega Oil City includes a 250,000 barrels per day refinery, a lube plant, gas bottling plant, and a fertilizer plant. According to him, the project will gulp over $5 billion within the next 5 years and already, over $330 million has been invested.

Crime / Benny Peters: Everyone Deserves The Benefit Of A Doubt by freakyamanda(f): 10:21am On Mar 27, 2018
The recent court judgement delivered in favour of Benedict Peters, CEO of the Aiteo Group has brought to the fore of national discussion, issues of victimization of innocent people by prosecuting agencies without following due process.

On March 22, 2018, Justice O.A. Musa of the Federal High Court, Abuja declared that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) has no right to declare anybody wanted without obtaining a court warrant. The court then ordered EFCC to remove the ‘wanted’ declaration on Peters from its website.

Benedict Peters will heave a sigh of relief after being hunted and maligned for over a year with intense attack on his reputation and public perception. Peters was declared wanted by the EFCC in 2016, ostensibly on allegations that he was involved in an incident whereby $115m bribe given to officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission by a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, during the build-up to the 2015 election.

More than a year after being wrongly labelled ‘a fugitive’, Benedict Peters is back to clear his name. He sought the court to declare EFCC’s actions, severally in declaring him a wanted person without a prior valid court order illegal, and a flagrant violation of his fundamental rights. He explained to the court the circumstances surrounding his encounter with the EFCC.

On the facts, Peters asserts that he was requested to attend EFCC but at the time of the request, he was not in Nigeria as he was receiving treatment in France, providing specific details of his medical circumstances and the location where he was being treated. He sought the rearrangement of the appointment by communication through his solicitors leading to the appointment being rescheduled for June 2, 2016.
Before that date, his medical circumstances made his attendance impractical. He sought, in writing, a further deferment of the interview to the end of August 2016, through his lawyer, Wole Olanipekun, SAN. However, prior to the date, EFCC started making a series of aggressive, dangerous moves, including the arrest of some of management staff of the Aiteo group and Benedict Peters’ aides and workers.

On 15 August 2016, the EFCC declared Benedict Peters wanted without an order of Court and in the absence of a valid charge in a court of law. The declaration was published on the official website of the EFCC with his photograph placed. It also circulated the declaration to media houses and some of them, including Sahara Reporters put it on their front page and kept promoting it as a news story, even after a year. This is against the legal mantra of ‘innocent until proven guilty’.

EFCC’s defence to its actions is that it acted based on a warrant of arrest issued by a magistrate court. Justice Musa scrutinized the contents of the document and realized that the signed document was received a day before it was actually signed by the person who purported to have signed it. He therefore, declared the warrant null and void. Besides, the judge said:
“there is nowhere in the purported warrant … that the Magistrate authorised the 1st Respondent(EFCC) to declare the Applicant (Benedict Peters) wanted. The warrant simply authorised the Complainant(EFCC) to bring the Defendant (Benedict Peters) before the Court to answer the complaint made against him.”

The judge therefore gave the judgement in favour of Benedict Peters and declared that the EFCC had no right to declare anybody ‘wanted’ without obtaining a valid court warrant. Furthermore, the judge ordered that EFCC remove the ‘wanted ‘declaration on him from its website.
Since last year, Benedict Peters has been winning a series of court cases as he responds to allegations levelled against him in the public and in the law court. This case is the most recent of them. Last December, a money laundering charge against him was thrown out in court for lack of evidence and the court declared his earnings legitimate.

The anticorruption mantra is one of the cornerstones of the Buhari administration. However, the execution of this policy has not worked out well because of several issues in the legal and law- enforcement framework. These issues include arbitrary behaviour by law-enforcement and prosecution agencies like the EFCC.

The EFCC needs to set its house in order and follow due procedure in prosecuting alleged cases of corruption. The case of Benedict Peters is an obvious infringement of human right and in saner climes, the agency would be made to pay for damages to the victim’s reputation. Wrong moves like the one made on Benedict Peters make it possible for the innocent to suffer, and the guilty to be free. This is why everyone deserves the benefit of a doubt.

Sports / We Fought Like A Boxer! Wenger Praises Arsenal After Defeating AC Milan by freakyamanda(f): 11:57am On Mar 09, 2018
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger likened his team to a boxer struggling to get up after a knockdown as they overcame their recent poor form to win 2-0 at AC Milan in the Europa League.

The Gunners’ last-16 first-leg victory in the San Siro meant they avoided a run of five straight defeats, which they last experienced in 1977.

Arsenal put their recent problems to one side as a polished performance at fallen giants AC Milan gave them the upper hand in their Europa League last-16 tie.

The Gunners arrived at the San Siro at arguably the lowest point of manager Arsene Wenger’s 22-year reign, yet responded to a run of four straight defeats with a confident and controlled display against their Italian hosts.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s first goal for the club put the Premier League side ahead, cutting in from the left to fire in with the aid of a deflection off Milan skipper Leonardo Bonucci.

Wenger spoke before the game about his team showing fight without compromising their attacking principles – and they delivered in a dominant first-half performance.

Aaron Ramsey deservedly doubled their lead before half-time, collecting Mesut Ozil’s piercing pass through the centre of Milan’s defence to round keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and tap in.

Milan tried to up the tempo after the break, wasting a clear early chance to pull one back when Giacomo Bonaventura spooned over the bar.

But Arsenal were largely unruffled from then on, limiting the home side to half chances with a solid defensive effort.

The two away goals now make the Gunners firm favourites to reach the quarter-finals after next Thursday’s second leg at Emirates Stadium.

“Overall it is important to win, but it is not qualification. We have to finish the job at home. I am happy with the spirit and response we gave,” said Wenger.

“We were not in a position to take risks, but we could not be too cautious as you lose fluidity. We defended with resilience until the end.”

Politics / Government Has Kept Its Promises To Niger Delta Nigerians: Osinbajo by freakyamanda(f): 11:26am On Mar 07, 2018
The vice president, Yemi Osinbajo has said that the Federal government has kept its promises to the Niger Delta people.

The vice president said this during a recent interview with a group of journalists and bloggers.

Read what he said below:

First of all, the dialogue started in 2016 and it continues. We began to dialogue with all the groups in the Niger Delta and we hold very regular meetings with PANDEF, which is the umbrella body. We also hold regular meetings with many of the groups in the Niger Delta and they are all actively involved with us.

I don’t know whether you are familiar with the Maritime University. The Maritime University has taken off, you know. Only a few days ago, the announcement was made that they are eligible for JAMB (the University was recently granted approval by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence undergraduate degree programmes effective from the 2017/2018 academic session). Interviews are taking place for the Maritime University, forms have been provided and we are talking to all of the principal parties in that zone who are interested in the work the Maritime University is doing. Many people are involved in that process. That is the kind of thing we are talking about to provide the kind of facility to help people in the Niger Delta, especially in Maritime University.

Also, look at modular refineries, 38 licensed modular refineries investors have indicated interests (10 of the licensed refineries are at an advanced stage of development). One, of course, has started in Bayelsa; another is being shipped in at the moment. There are about three or four different engagements with modular refineries operators. So we are putting that together, and one of the critical things with modular refineries is that we are trying to ensure that, first of all, it is private-sector driven. Government has to provide the licenses, but also there is community involvement; communities also have a stake in the modular refineries. So we are doing that as well. We are working very hard on that.

When confronted about statements by PANDEF leader that FG is not doing anything in the region, Osinbajo said:

I don’t know when Chief Clark made that statement. I think that, by and large, all of what I’m saying is being done. It is obvious for everyone to see. I’ve no real problem demonstrating this, but as a matter of fact, if you look on our website (www.ndnewvision.gov.ng), on the all of the Niger Delta issues, we have almost a blow-by-blow account of what we are doing, including the Ogoni clean up.

I think there is a lot going on. You can’t address all of the problems at once. We have provided plenty of information. We have Inter-ministerial meetings where the different stakeholders meet constantly with leaders of the Niger Delta. I think you can imagine development is something that no one can be completely satisfied with at any point in time; that’s why it’s called development.

Business / Aiteo/nff Awards: Benedict Peters Another Contribution To Nigerian Football by freakyamanda(f): 5:19pm On Mar 05, 2018
Benedict Peters, CEO of Nigeria’s energy giant, Aiteo Group, has taken another step towards changing the face of football in Nigeria with the sponsorship of the Nigerian Football Federations(NFF) awards, writes Bonny Kant.
The Aiteo group, under the leadership of Abakaliki-born Benedict Peters, has taken a couple of giant strides in the past two years. Its heavy social investment into football in Nigeria and at the continental stage has endeared it to the hearts of many and increased its brand recognition. Within two years of significant intervention, there had been a remarkable improvement in the country’s football.
A few weeks ago, it was a night of glitz, colour, and glamour at the Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos as the best performers and greatest icons of Nigerian football were celebrated. This is the maiden edition of the Nigerian Football Federation(NFF) awards, and Aiteo has once more stepped up to take responsibility.
Benedict Peters is a man with a remarkable passion for youth development in Nigeria and he sees football as a veritable tool for empowering the population and fostering national unity. His passion for the round leather game is summed up in an article he wrote in the Huffington post, where he said; “like a shared pursuit of a pan-African economic powerhouse, football should be held up as one of the new pillars of a pan-African future. If economic bridges can be built in trade; then cultural bridges can be built in sports.”
Aiteo’s intervention in football began in 2017 with the injection of 2.5 billion naira into the Nigerian Football Federation(NFF). After funds began to flow in, the National team, Super eagles were able to end a dry spell that had lasted for about 5 years. They qualified for the 2018 world cup after defeating Cameroun and Algeria; two of the most highly rated teams in Africa.
To help the development of local football teams, Aiteo also financed the Federation cup, the oldest competitive sports tournament in Nigeria. With the injection of funds, the tournament, rebranded as Aiteo cup became a tremendous success, with a final match that was watched by the largest number of spectators in recent Federation cup history. The prize money was also the largest, with the winner going home with N25million and the runners-up pocketing N10million.
The continued success of the super eagles both in Africa and at the global stage is a testimony to the Aiteo group’s tenacious pursuit of excellence and Benedict Peters astute vision for football in Africa
Aiteo never stopped at the national stage. The company stepped up its involvement in football to the continental stage with the sponsorship of the CAF football awards on January 4, 2017. The CAF awards reward the best in African football in the course of a year. The event, which took place in Accra, Ghana, heralded Aiteo’s arrival as a major football financier on the continental stage. It is a terrain in which popular brands like Total, Glo, MTN, and Orange had been players and now Aiteo joins them.
At the Aiteo-NFF awards, Deputy Managing Director, Francis Peters assured of the company’s continuous commitment to football in Nigeria. He announced that Aiteo has paid the sum of $600,000 and N320 million to cover its contractual obligation of providing support to the technical crew of the Super Eagles for the whole of 2018, well beyond the World Cup.
Benedict Peters may not strike you as the typical African billionaire; he has not been on the list for a long time. He doesn’t seem to have a larger than life image and he doesn’t court the attention of the media. He however, sits atop what is arguably the largest indigenous oil and gas firm in Nigeria with an average daily output of 90,000 barrels. Now he has also become the biggest football financier in the country. The Aiteo-NFF deal is another in a positive direction.
Benedict Peters’ unwavering commitment to sports and youth development was underlined when his brother, Francis remarked at the event; “we celebrate my brother, my mentor and boss, Mr. Benedict Peters, the Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of the AITEO Group, whose extraordinary devotion and dedication to youth empowerment through sport has led to the remarkable outcomes our various interventions have achieved. Benny, I salute you! Thank you for what you have done for our sport and for being the consummate patriot. Only time and posterity will measure the true value of your efforts.”
Aiteo’s moto says the company is the future. With its immense contributions, the future of football in Nigeria is gradually looking like Aiteo.

Editor’s Note

I am a very optimistic person and usually believe most stories I am told even when they sound incredible. I once gave a presentation on creative writing where I talked about a genre called ‘Twitter fiction’ I couldn’t find an example then

I think I have just found the example I was looking for. It is the story above!–

Celebrities / Meet Top 5 Nollywood Actresses Who Are Overdue For Marriage by freakyamanda(f): 12:32pm On Feb 28, 2018
They are beautiful. They are successful, and they are popular. But they have also been ripe for the altar for a long time. The fact that they are pushing close to 40 and still single may bother us but it’s subject to debate whether they are as worried as us. Today’s Echo brings you a short list of the hottest single Nollywood actresses who are overdue for marriage
1. Geneveive Nnaji 38
Eight years ago, dark, delectable Genevieve was literarily the face of Nollywood. She won the hearts of fans with star roles in several hit movies. Even now, she is one of the crème of Nollywood A list actresses whom every Director want to feature and every man drool over. She was once romantically linked with top politicians, including former vice president Atiku Abubakar. Genevieve is 38 and single.
2. Rita Dominic 38
If Geneveive is the dark chocolate, Rita Dominic is the brown chocolate with caramel topping. Also among the Nollywood A-listers, the pretty, fair-skinned 38-year old actress once revealed that she could have gotten married a long time ago but things didn’t work out. She also described dating as a nightmare, probably because of her ordeals. She has also been linked with Nollywood bad boy Jim, Iyke in the past. Jim Iye recently revealed why he didn’t marry her, saying “Rita and I met when I was just beginning to embrace fame, and the comforts that came with it.”
“I don’t think Rita at that time was looking at longevity, truthfully. Don’t forget, I was the kid with the crazy afro, ready to start a fight anywhere.”
3. Bimbo Akintola
A well-respected veteran of both Yoruba and English language Nollywood movies, this buxom, well endowed actress is over 40 and doesn’t look like settling down soon. She once revealed that she cannot date any Nollywood actor and that she is open to the idea of being a baby mama. There have been rumours, however, that she had secretly gotten married to Nollywood actor, Yemi Blaq. We wish her good luck in her quest and will recommend Flavour, the professional baby mama developer.
4. Ebube Nwagbo 35
Unlike Geneveive and Rita Dominic, Ebube Nwagbo is a more recent face in Nollywood. Yet it is undeniable that the 35-year-old Warri-born Anambra University graduate is one of the prettiest in the industry. She is also one of the most overdue bachelorettes in the industry. Recently, she was asked why she is not married yet and she replied: “I believe that everything happens at the right time, which is the time that God ordains. I don’t like abandoning things halfway; I prefer to stick with it till the end. That’s why I have to be very careful about marriage.”
5. Halima Abubakar 38
Halima is the real brown chocolate. The sexy, curvy, well endowed actress is of northern origin and has been in the industry for quite some time. Pushing close to 40 and seemingly unbothered, Halima feels good in her own skin, to the delight of her fans. She has recently undergone surgery to remove fibroid.

Politics / Aisha Wakil, Mama Boko Haram, Vows To Rescue Dapchi Schoolgirls From Her Sons by freakyamanda(f): 10:37am On Feb 28, 2018
Aisha Wakil, the Maiduguri based lawyer and rights activist, with links with Boko Haram, said she will do everything possible to get the 110 abducted Dapchi schoolgirls freed.

Aisha, also called Mama Boko Haram, believed the girls were captured by the Barnawi group of the terror sect. She appealed to the group to free the girls. She said she was ready to get them out even at the risk of her life.

“Wallahi I will go after them, even if it will take my life to save these girls. They call me Mummy, but they don’t listen to me. I keep on talking to them, begging them to lay down their arms and embrace peace but they will say ‘Insha-Allah mummy we are going to stop.’ Sometimes they will say they are scared they are going to be killed but I will tell them nobody is going to kill you, ” she said in an interview published on PRNigeria website today.

She appealed to the abductors to release the young female captives, said to be aged between 12 and 19 years. Acccording to a list published by the Federal Government on Tuesday, 37 of the girls are in JSS1-3, while 73 are in SSS1-3.

Aisha Wakil, was a former member of the Committee on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution of Security Challenges in the northern region of Nigeria under the administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan.

She had, in previous efforts, brought military officers and Boko Haram Commanders together during negotiations.

She was also credited for the release of some abductees, including Chibok schoolgirls, from the Boko Haram sect via phone calls to the leadership.

PRNigeria quoted her as saying she was ready to sacrifice her life to rescue the girls from their abductors.

The activist was reported to have helped in the circumcision of some of the Boko Haram members when they were kids over two decades ago.

Her relationship with the sect members earned her the name ‘Mama Boko Haram.’

Disturbed about the latest abduction of 110 students of Government Girls Technical College Dapchi, Aisha has renewed her commitment to fight to end the Boko Haram insurgency.

The activist who cried during the interview said : “This thing that is happening, is really breaking my heart. These children don’t even know what they are doing. Some of them were not even born at the time this thing started.

She appealed to the leader of the Barnawi group to release the girls:

“I heard you are now being called ‘Abu Mussad Albarnawi’ but I know you as Habib and I am begging you to stop the killing and abduction. I have sent many messages to you. I don’t know if you are getting these messages or you just choose to continue to hurt your mother and make her cry.

“Dear Habib, Nuru and others, I was told you may be the ones responsible for the kidnapped of these girls. Wherever you may be if you are listening to me, I beg you in the name of Allah to release the girls back to their families.

“What type of children will continue letting their mother to continue crying. Dear Habib, I pray Allah touches your heart and that of your colleagues to stop what you are doing. Please come out. I will never deny you even if the whole world did. Those who know you know your heart. They know you are no longer interested in the fight anymore.

“I will hold all of you and wrap you with my wrapper and bring you out and no one is going to shoot you. If they will shoot you, they will have to shoot me first. I don’t mind sacrificing my life if you will stop what you are doing. If I die stopping Boko Haram, I know I will go to paradise.”

Aisha Wakil has been actively involved in efforts to end Boko Haram through her NGO “Complete Care and Aid Foundation” aimed at restoring peace to the northeast by rehabilitating the youth against warped ideologies that mislead them to join the terror group.

The organisation is designed to provide a free feeding centre, fight drug abuse, sex hawking, human trafficking, female genital mutilation and de-worming among persons displaced by the insurgency.
