Soludo bans extension classes in Anambra, asks schools to dismiss by 2.30pm

Our Reporter

Anambra State Government has adopted the United Nations (UN) stipulations for schools to end daily academic activities by 2.30pm.

Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, made this known Monday in a statement n Awka.

She said the adoption was in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's desire for school children to have adequate rest and interaction with their parents before the commencement of the next day's activities.

She charged all school Heads in the State to ensure closure of all daily academic activities by 2.30pm, to give room for the children to be at home by 3pm.

The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor had expressed worry over long periods of time pupils spend in school, describing the practice as unhealthy to both the pupils and their parents.

The prelate who blamed teachers for the ugly development, lamented that the current education system makes it almost impossible for pupils to spend quality time with their parents as teachers engaged the pupils in lessons from 7am to 6pm.

He urged government to moderate the schools academic and extracurricular activities to enable pupils balance their studies with home training and other engagements.

You are the one deceiving yourself. If someone buys something from you and promises to pay in two days but reneges, it is a crime and if he kidnaps your child for a ramson, it is a grievous sin that society may ask for the death penalty while no single human will demand the death penalty for debt

sin is sin

crime punishable under the law are in different levels

During my time the number of corpers dead as a result of unauthorized travel were so alarming that ZI had to do physical head count of every local govt those not on ground were given extension after their service year.

What made matter worse was that a certain corper died and the next of kin contacted, only for next of kin demanding for death benefit of the passing corper. This insistence prompted an investigation which led to the discovery of the next of kin being a friend but not family member.

Which sin that Sanusi listed there that isn't a crime?

In the Holy Books, punishment for sins varies from simple restitution to death depending on the degree it inflicted pain on the society or the person on the receiving end.

It means God doesn't judge all sin to be the same.

It's not true. If sin is sin why do the punishments vary? If sin is the same, it will be injustice for different degrees of incarceration or even death sentences.

sin is different from crime and punishment under the law in state institutions

Meeting someone and marrying them is a lot like pursuing your dream job.

There is an opening. You get excited. You write up a flashy resume, and you apply. You follow up, pass a series of interviews, and you get the job!

Congratulations.

But, that’s not the end of it; it’s just the beginning. Because now you actually have a job to do. Daily. Repeatedly. Indefinitely.

At this new workplace, you will spend years, deciphering, manoeuvring, managing, riding a rollercoaster, compromising, learning, laughing, growing, dedicating, working overtime, placating, understanding, failing and succeeding.

The outcomes of this job will vary. You might get sacked or be made redundant. You might quit. You might last decades and retire with a fantastic pension. There are no guarantees.

The one thing everyone will tell you is that you’ll get out of it what you put into it. Mostly anyway.

That’s marriage, in a nutshell.

~Feef
