Obi will shut down the highway. He does not want that road to cut off his region, the SE.
On the contrary, I think Peter Obi will continue with it so as to use it for 2031 campaigns.
As for president Tinubu if he gets reelected in 2027 and then abandons the road, is there anything anyone from the Southsouth or anyone at that can do to him other than complain.

U people and hatred for S.S.

Buhari also borrowed to fund 2nd Niger bridge.

Did u see any S.S raise objections about it.
If Igbos hate the Southsouth, they wouldn't have supported Goodluck Jonathan almost 100%.
If the Yorubas love the Southsouth, I don't think they would have joined others to humiliate and bully him out of office.

Shut up.

The project is 70% funded by the contractor, and the FG pays 30%.

It’s a Build-Operate-Transfer project, whereby the contractor will toll the road to recoup his cost and profits before handing it over to the FG.

Did you IPOB emergency Nigerians complain when Buhari spent over a billion dollars building the 2nd Niger Bridge?

Of course not.

Selfish, pathetic reprobates.
The first Niger Bridge had been in a very bad shape. It was carrying a lot of load and there was fear it would collapse leading to loss of lots of humans and property. The issue had been a big issue from the electioneering campaign of late former president Shehu Shagari down to former presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari who completed it.
Is there any danger to lives and property if the Lagos Calabar Coastal highway is not urgently executed at such huge cost?

You mean the coastal highway of fraud?

Where in the world does a broke country borrowing up and down get N7 trillion naira to complete a super highway as a priority project among all other priorities?

People already know that this project will be used for campaigning for 2027

The same way Tinubu and the SW betrayed Jonathan Goodluck in 2015 and made him a one term president is the same way SS will betray Tinubu.

Karma is a b!tch

PoliticsDifference Between The Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway And The Second Niger Bridge by FreedomfromtheT(op): 4:35pm On May 19, 2024
Somebody compared the Lagos Calabar Coastal highway with the second Niger Bridge.
He claimed that Peter Obi didn't criticize the second Niger Bridge so why should he criticize the Lagos Calabar Coastal highway?
It seems that some people are trying to cause a deep divide and rule between the people of the Southeast and their Southsouth brothers through this Lagos Calabar Coastal highway project.
Obviously, some people are trying to make it look like the Igbos are not happy about the coastal highway because it does not benefit them.
Really?
The first Niger Bridge had been a very busy passage across the Niger river for decades.
A lot of vehicles used to pass to and fro the busy bridge on a daily basis.
Due to the bad shape of the first Niger Bridge and the fear that it might collapse leading to astronomical loss of humans and property, there was an idea for the construction of a second Niger Bridge which started during the electioneering campaign of late former president Shehu Shagari in 1978/1979, continued to the regime of Ibrahim Babangida, down to that of president Olusegun Obasanjo.
For more than 30 years, this huge national project affecting Nigerians lives and economy had been subject to political talks until president Jonathan signed the contract which his predecessor former president Muhammadu Buhari perfected and completed.
Can that be said about the Lagos Calabar Coastal highway?
Do the people of the coastal areas need the high way more than deep seaports?
What about the existing roads in the Southsouth line the East West roads and other roads in need of upgrade?
What are the economic benefits of this highway compared to the cost?
Do we really need an alternative high way for the Southsouth people that much?
Is the Lagos Calabar Coastal highway not a white elephant project meant to play to the galary and get Southsouth votes?
The question is: will president Bola Tinubu actually complete this project or will he just use it as a ploy to get Southsouth votes and abandon it if reelected and blame the minister of works, David Umahi an Igboman as someone predicted?
PoliticsBetween Obi And Tinubu Who Will Continue With The Lagos Calabar High Way? by FreedomfromtheT(op): 3:57pm On May 19, 2024
There has been so much talks about the Lagos Calabar Coastal highway.
Some Nigerians see this long and expensive project as a ploy by president Tinubu to get the votes of the people of the Niger Delta otherwise called the Southsouth people of Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo and Rivers States.
Some people suspect that if Tinubu is reelected, he would dump the project so long as the Lagos end has been perfected as he would not be needing anybody's votes anymore.
Somebody even said the blame would be laid squarely on the feet of David Umahi the minister of works, an Igbo man, as the supporters of this present government seems to be so Igbophobia meant on causing disaffection between the Igbo and other tribes in Nigeria.
Peter Obi on the other hand, has criticized the project in terms of the humengous cost as well as it not economically beneficial to the states and not what the people of the Southsouth really need. (I think they need deep seaports to be working in virtually all the major towns of the Niger Delta, their current roads completed and others put in better shape).
Since the project has commenced as we are informed and is not likely to be completed within four years, I believe Peter Obi if elected, would most likely want to continue with the project in order to please his Southsouth inlaws and also get their support for 2031.
I believe Obi would in addition cause the deep seaports to be functional for economic vibrancy of the Southsouth region and the nation at large.
After all, president Buhari completed the second Niger Bridge which was started by his predecessor, former president Goodluck Jonathan.
God bless Nigeria.

Tinubu had done more for Nigeria than all the president since 1999 add together.

We have the highest inflation rate since 1999, the highest unemployment rate, our currency has moved from bad to worse, cost of living is now trippled, Nigerians are less safer, just to mention a few.

You now see that the good work should continue?
Hmmmmmmmmm!
But some people feel that president Tinubu is entitled to 8 years irrespective of his performance in office.
Don't you agree with them?

It is all part of the strategy of the few empowered apc miscreants who have determined that the overt & covert use of 'racism' is the best way to distract from the present calamity in power.

Obi is far from a saint and under better circumstances, would not be in contention for the post of president. But, what has Obi done or said that the apc has not done twice over and in far worse ways?

Has Obi led or called for a protest march against the draconian policies of apc like bubu & bulaba did against pdp? No.

Has Obi held a press conference & said the blood of humans & baboons would flow in the streets if he lost elections? No. But we know those who did.

Has Obi sworn to make Nigeria ungovernable because of election loss? No. But those who did are in power today.

Has Obi called on foreign governments to stop selling weapons to combat terrorists in Nigeria thereby sabotaging the efforts of government to fight terrorism? No. Those who did are today in power.

Did Obi insist on same faith ticket in a religiously diverse country like Nigeria? No. But we can all see those in power today who displayed crass insentivity to our religious diversity.

Did Obi ever call another ethnic group a 'dot' or use other derogatory descriptions against them? No. But we know those who turned the dot insult into a mocking slogan and supported it.

Is it Obi that has been implementing punishing financial and economic burdens on Nigerians that has made Nigeria the country with the highest population of poorest people in the world today? I don't think so. But we know those in power who have been instrumental in increasing the 'poverty net'.

So OP, just know that you are dealing with strategically empowered touts.
I think this is a technical knockout on the anti-Obi propagandists who seek to divert people's attention from what Nigerians are suffering.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the president of Nigeria.
He is the commander in chief of the Nigerian armed forces.
Since he became president, the situation of Nigeria economically and security wise has gone from bad to worse.
There is so much hunger and poverty in the land including kidnappings on a regular basis.
Unfortunately, instead of pilling pressure on president Tinubu to aliviate the dire situations of Nigerians, his media and propaganda machinary including Reno Omokri are bent on bringing Peter Obi down with lots of character assassination and campaigns of calumny.
From every indication their aim is to cause further ethnic divisions especially against the Igbos and divert attention from the inadequacies of the current federal government.
Please how does attacking Obi and Igbophobia help Tinubu meet the needs of the suffering Nigerian people?

The point I get is that according to Paul Ibe, Atiku Abubakar wouldn't have contested if former governor Wike and others who are not from the Southeast had stayed away and agreed to zone the presidency to the Southeast for equity sake.
I don't know how sincere Atiku Abubakar is.
Perhaps 2026/2027 will tell.
