ocelot2006: Care to explain? With all our current issues, the Nigerian economy's still growing, and Africa's 2nd largest economy's pegged to overtake South Africa's in a few years. So please tell the whole house what Obama's visit will bring. Afterall, we've had visits from previous POTUSs. Keep in mind that we have an ongoing counter-insurgency & counter-terror Op up north. We don't have the bloody time to babysit Obama.
I'm not an Aso rock or a white house insider, So i can't tell you what the details of the state visit was supposed to be like. But i sense progress in most countries who choosed to stay closer to the most liberal part of the world.
Comments like who cares? what will his visit add to our pockets? he should stay away from our country he supports gay marriage, etc, is our own way of displaying our arrogance and ignorance. History proved that these approaches never helped us in the past and will not be helping us in future.
Question should be what could be his reasons for skiping this visit. Obama is supposed to be a friend to Africa as a whole, so why the loophole with Nigeria? and no one cares. Should a missunderstanding broke out in this newly found romance between China and Nigeria, who will you cry to for help? The Russians? We are walking our way towards building a strain relationship with the most peaceful nation on earth and all we 've got to say is, who cares
The same phrase we use when our money is being looted to swiss accounts.

instaforex ngr: If Obama and his wife Michelle does not visit Nigeria when they tour Africa,
then Jonathan and his wife, Patience should also not visit United States whenever the tour North America.

Localtrouble: Hush please! Obama visited Ghana in his 1st tenure..what economic significance has it added to your country? Does his visit automatically make visted countries part of the so called 'super powers'? They are just looking for new Countries to exploit..Nigeria is an old layer in that category, stop jumping at the simple announcement that he's visiting and even if he is it won't be announced cause of the security problems on ground!!
Wait untill Ghana starts deporting Nigerians in massive numbers, maybe then you can understand the economic significance.

If that's his best work i can't really say, since i haven't gone through all his work yet, but it is the most popular, Arrow of God isn't a bad novel too.

ehie: Mr man ,if you have decided to be the white man's monkey, then be my guest,i do not have the time to persuade you ,you are entitled to be a stupe..if u have been living under a rock for ages at least you have your history books,if you don't have that, you have google,if you cannot learn from your past, you will repeat it

is it not ironic that the growth of the african econony is parallel to the growth of the chinese economy?
What name did they call africa twenty years ago,
The world's begging bowl,the world's basket case,the aids continent...

What do they call africa today after the chinko flooded our market and making helping us know our left to right with cheap goods and cheap infrastructure?
"emerging economy"
My friend i know from the time the west in the 1800's took our cotton, exported it and brought it back to sell it us as wrapppers they had nothing to offer us..
So be a monkey if you wish
Since there is no way you can communicate politely, i'll rather ignore you.

ehie: i really wish we could raise a new crop of leaders who dont give three esffs abt the oyingbos,to believe in ourselves, and our ability,to be patriotic and revolutionaries, just like Murtala Muhammed, the Patrice Lumubas, the Frantz Fanons.
we all have to learn form History, the history written by ourselves, the African history and llearn from it,because if we dont we go around in circles like the blind, doing the same thing over and over again
How about the North korea style of leadership? since anything wey concern oyinbo na evil? cheesy

ehie: To a certain extent, such negligence of foreign policy may be seen as a reflection of a general state of mind of the U.S. public – when asked, "Have you ever been abroad?" and ordinary American may well answer, "Yes, I've been to Florida."
Tell me how you 're smarter than that American by deliberately refusing to acknowledge the importance of the Us president's State visit.
Nigeria and the US got more to offer to themselves compared to Isreal and the US, and we are all here asking how the state visit will directly enrich our pockets. Its a pity.

I wished Nigeria can be compared to any of these countries you just listed, despite the political turmoil going on in these countries at the moment.

Virgin Finder: When the real Americans - Carter, Clinton, Bush - were in power, they visited Nigeria.

Obama is a Kenyan. And like every other African, he is definitely envious of Nigeria and is not hiding it.

In retrospect, how many times has he visited his homeland, Kenya, since he became president?

Obama's coming to Nigeria or not doesnt add or reduce our greatness!

Chikena!!

ehie: Who cares? Not that the Americans give anything out without their self intrest out, they would let Nigeria burn to the ground,if we werent one the most powerful countries..come to think of it,arent they even encouraging it to burn, last time I heard they were arming insurgents(Boko Haram),NEVER trust the West, Gaddafi LEARNT THE HARD WAY,Mubarak learnt the hard way,Assad is learning, thank God for Putin.

If Johnny is smart, pally well well with China and Russia,as your check and balance and learn from Abacha, who gave them the finger, enuf of this sucking up..they have nothing anymore, their economy is tanking every day,the BRICS are the new super power
So the Chinese and Russians are now the new saints. Be honest, you 're only in love with their cheap fake products. The Us got a better vision for Nigeria than any other country in world.

It could, only if your government is willing to inform you about it.
Politics › Re: Obama Skips Nigeria In His Africa Visit by Freiburger(m): 9:45am On May 21, 2013
The question we should be asking is, what could be the reasons why this visit is being skipped? Security reasons?
Hilary Clinton made only a few hours stop during her Africa tour. The US has evaluated our security system and discovered that there is nothing one can rely on there.

sucess001: In three years mou won 3 trophies. In the two yrs guardiola spent with him, guardiola won 6 trophies.

You still think he is special?

Or the fact that Klopp used a team collectively worth $45m to beat his $500m team makes mou the special one?

Mou is indeed special...a special failure...
Mehnnn, i 'll Give a triple A for this.
