coolzeal: The event that took place in the bible is just 6000 to 7000 yrs old and the first modern human (Homo Sapien) appeared in Africa around 195000 yrs ago and in the same bible we're told by the European that Adam and Eve were white including Christian movies. Eve was suppose to come from Adam right.. Now ask yourself this question; How they hell did Eve came from Adam when we know that you cannot bring life into this world without a woman. A man cannot give birth to a child... A black woman was the first human on earth and she gave birth to humanity. Stop deluding yourself worshiping a white man in your church( AKA Jesus) and search for the real history. Who wrote the bible = the European and the bible was also use to justify slavery in Africa in those days. Go and ask your pastor how can a woman come from man when we as men don't have womb.... The story of Adam and Eve is fictitious.. sorry but it is the truth.A black woman was the first human on earth and she gave birth to humanity very interesting! How did she get her first baby? |
emmalezy: if u know u are a true christian stop askin such question again::: jesus death has really broken all those laws... He said IT IS FINISH so wats do u think he was talkin about.. Is it only our sins or what... Open ur eyes man...no wonder the bible says ..... My people perish for lack of knowledge... Wise up.. Am sure a muslim brought up dis thread....So there are those who are true Christians and those who are professed. What makes you think you are a true christian? If you are not merely professing to be a Christian, can you scripturally support your claim that Jesus' death broke the law limiting women's activities in the church? ..... My people perish for lack of knowledge... Knowledge about what? Am sure a muslim brought up dis thread.... what makes you so sure? You sound a bit unchristian. According to you, 'wise up'. |

Ekenthman: I agree wit stilme n disagree wit logic mind. Der ar three things dat made up human being. Body, soul and spirit. D body demand for food to look fresh, healthy n good. D soul work wit d spirit to achieve common goal. Now, God communicate to man through man spirit because der ar two spirit, Holy Spirit, n man spirit. D Holy Spirit communicate to man spirit through God. D Holy Spirit is always wit man but if man sins, He wil depart. Holy Spirit is d comforter dat replace Christ after His departure. He help to direct u in evrytin u do. Sin separate us frm Him. Dat is y Bible says dat d soul dat sin shall die. Also, soul is d one dat keep u living, ur soul is everly wit u to giv u breath. If it depart frm ur body, dat is death n d soul goes to d Creator(God). God has nothin to do wit flesh. This sounds like human philosophy, can you add scriptural backing to what you are saying? |
Logic Mind: Buzugee is wrong as usual.I think there is a little mix up. You are right when you say soul and spirit are not the same, but your explanation of soul is not in line with the scripture you quote. If soul sins, according to Ezekiel 18:4 & 20, then what is soul in this context? Humans are souls. Soul is not a micro chip or storage device in man as you claim. Just like a manufacturer woul explain how he manufactured his product, the maker of man has explained how he made man at Gen 2:7. You are a product or result of something. As you read the Genesis, note that the cominOg together of dust from the ground and the breath of life from God became(=) a living soul. In short, dust from the ground and(+) the breath of life from God became(=) a living soul(you), the result. Ac 27:37 We were in all two hundred seventy-six persons on the ship. New English Translation (NET) And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls. King James Version (KJV) The Bible shows that soul has blood, which means, man, with life and blood in him is a soul. See Jer. 2:34 The Bible also refers to animals as souls. See the following scriptures: Nu 31:28; Re 16:3; Le 24:18 Man, having life, is said to have soul. In other words, soul is also translated to mean 'life' Mr 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? King James Version (KJV) For what does it profit a man, to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life? World English Bible (WEB) WHAT IS THE SPIRIT? In the Bible, the words translated "spirit" basically mean "breath." But this implies much more than the act of breathing. The Bible writer James, for example, states: "The body without spirit is dead." (James 2:26) Hence, spirit is that which animates the body. This animating force cannot simply be the breath, or air, moving through the lungs. Why not? Because after breathing stops, life remains in the body cells for a brief period—"for several minutes," according to The World Book Encyclopedia. For this reason efforts at resuscitation can succeed, and body organs can be transplanted from one person to another. But once the spark of life is extinguished from the cells of the body, all efforts to restore life are futile. All the breath in the world cannot revive even one cell. The spirit, then, is the invisible life-force—the spark of life—that keeps the cells alive. This life-force is sustained by breathing.—Job 34:14, 15. Is that spirit active only in humans? The Bible helps us to reach a sound conclusion in this regard. Wise King Solomon wrote: "Who really knows if the human spirit ascends upward, and the animal’s spirit descends into the earth?" (Ecclesiastes 3:21) New English Translation (NET). So animals as well as men are spoken of as having a spirit. Both humans and animals "have but one spirit." (Ecclesiastes 3:19) Hence, when a person dies, his spirit does not go on existing in another realm as a spirit creature. Both(humans and animals) go to the same place, both come from the dust, and to dust both return. Ecclesiastes 3:22 WHAT, THEN, IS THE CONDITION OF THE DEAD? AND WHAT HAPPENS TO THE SPIRIT WHEN A PERSON DIES? - the Bible provides answers to all of this. |
eghuan1: as a philosophy student who had a critical and robust study of the difference between the SPIRIT and SOUL, i can tell you cartigorically that there are three main views as to understanding what these actually are. we have the African, western and Asian perspective. according to the African perspective, the spirit is an animating force which at death of the individual goes to the spirit world to join the ancestors while the soul reincarnates as a new person. for the Asians (budhism and the rest), the spirit is what give the body life i.e. it is the active element of an individual while the soul is in continous state of reincarnation until it gains enlightenment to join Lord Krisna in paradise. according to the western version, which is mainly as postulated by the ancient Greeks as well as the Holy Bible, the spirit give the body a life force while the soul is the part of the human entity that retains memory. hope i have help you a littleVery interesting! Now, as a philosopher, which one of the 3 views best explain the d/f b/w soul & spirit, considering the fact that the truth in this case must be one. |

Felixjude: whenever issues that got to do with prophet T.B Joshua are raised here, lots of people begin to run their mouth..some even go as far as boasting that they could prophesy more than he does...let me ask you all thisProphets are false not only because their words fail to come true. Satan also has the knowledge of some future events. He can equally cause great things, signs and wonders to happen. For instance, the rods of the Egyptian priests turned to snake by satanic power and they also caused frogs to come over the land by the same power. See Ex. 7:10-12; 8:7 Again, reading Matt. 24:24-25 and 7:22-23 meditatively shows that prophesying, performing of great signs and wonders, all in Jesus name do not neccessarily authenticate the divinity of their source. However, prohets of old never prophesied or performed great signs without reason. In pre-Christian time, these things were used to vindicate the supremacy of the almighty God above other gods. When Jesus was on earth as a human, signs and wonders were needed as proofs of Jesus as both the son of God and the promised Messiah. In the first century, after the death of christ and subsequent resurrection to heaven, these things needed to continue for a while since Christianity was still very young. When it was fully and firmly established, apostle Paul, by means of the holy spirit, started preparing the minds of the first century Christians about the stoppage of a lot of things they used to do. See 1cor.13:8-10; Heb. 6:1; Some questions we should rather ask are: 1. is there any true prophet of old whose prophecy never come true? NO! 2. Is there any true prophet of old whose prayer regarding his prophecy was never answered? NO! 3. Is there any prophet of old whose prophecy was not specific and related to the out working of God defined purpose? NO! 4. What is the case today? The scripture is the book of prophecy. It talks about events in the past, present and future. When men bring in what God has not sent them, they cause confussion. This is very dangerious, that is why Jesus gave us repeted warnings. A true prophet is he who studies, lives by and share the words recorded in the Book of prophecy, the Bible with his household and neighbors. In other words, if you read the words of prophets recorded in the Bible to me, you are prophesying, provided your understanding and explanation of the scripture is in line with its revealed truth. |

Is cigarette smoking dangerous to health? Is it good for those who sincerely want to fashion their lives after that of Jesus to deliberately engage in things that would adversely affect their lives? If you were the life giver, how would you feel seeing people indulging in things that are detrimental to life? Or are we saying it does not matter to the lifegiver the way we live our lives? If there were cigarettes in time of Jesus, would he or any of his disciples smoke? If we claim it's not a sin to smoke because the bible does not expressly say: " Thou shall not smoke", is there any law prohibiting a child from peeping while the parents are making love? If your neighbor pour acid on you just for the fun of it would it be a sin? Remember, no scripture says: thou shall not pour acid on his neighbor. Interestingly, the giver of life has given us all the guides we need for healthy and successful living. The scripture contain all these in various forms. Compare 2Tim 3:16,17. 1. In form of stated laws such as the ten commandment and the precepts. 2. In form of object lessons from the bible stories of individual who lived in bible times. 3. Finally, in form of bible principles upon which our Christian conducts are based. For instance, watching of pornography and peeping on unclothedness of others are clear violation of the bible principle found at Psm. 119:37; Matt. 5:28; also, note some things condemn by Paul at Eph. 5:3,4. Lots of unhealthy, unclean and filthy habits one can think of (most of which we do in hidings) are condemned, hence, should not be mentioned in connectionn with Christ followers. Is Smoking Really Wrong? "WHY not use tobacco if I enjoy it? If I risk my health, that's my own business." To the millions who find pleasure in smoking, such "logic" is convincing. Yet, news reports in 1985 blamed smoking for 100,000 deaths a year in Britain, 350,000 a year in the United States, and a third of all deaths in Greece. Common sense suggests that society would not shrug off the moral implications of these figures. But it does. Why? For one thing, many religious leaders refuse to apply any moral pressure on their flock to stop smoking. The view they take is expressed by the author of a book called The Christian Moral Vision. He sees "no justification for moral pressure" on one who, "having considered the risks . . . [goes on] smoking for the sake of the pleasure it provides." But is this the Bible's viewpoint? Does "pleasure" justify taking needless risks? No, it does not. Would it not make more sense to try to stay physically and mentally in top shape? For our own good and out of respect for our loved ones and our Creator, the Bible stipulates that we should "cleanse ourselves of every defilement [pollution] of flesh and spirit." (2 Corinthians 7:1; Kingdom Interlinear) Does the harm from tobacco stop at the physical body? What It Does to Your Life The tobacco habit can grip you firmly not only physically but also mentally. Aside from polluting one's body, tobacco permeates the whole "spirit" with which tobacco users think, work, and play—the very mood of their daily affairs. A journalist admitted in Reader's Digest: "Without my daily ration of cigarettes, I could not write, eat, sleep, make love or even have fun with my children." Why does tobacco become so deep-rooted in people's lives, even to the point of causing them to look the other way when facing its ultimate harm—death? Concerning Britain, psychiatrist Judy Greenwood wrote in the Glasgow Herald of January 3, 1985: "If 100,000 people had died from any other preventable cause, . . . it would have provoked a national outrage. . . . But smoking is different . . . This particular social addiction is so ingrained in our culture and commerce . . . that we seem to have developed a blind spot in our national commonsense." The Spiritual Harm of Addiction Yes, addiction, not pleasure alone, produces this moral blind spot in the public "spirit" today. And Dr. Richard Pollin, director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (U.S.A.), asserts that cigarette smoking is now the most serious and widespread addiction in the world—even worse than heroin. The Bible's viewpoint has no such blind spots regarding addictive substances that would make us slaves both of a habit and of the men who traffic in the habit: "You were bought with a price; stop becoming slaves of men," states 1 Corinthians 7:23. Were addictive drugs and herbs common in Bible times? Yes, says Tobacco and Kentucky, citing "the evidence of prehistoric pipes excavated at . . . the Mediterranean Sea and inland in Asia Minor [used in smoking] . . . cannabis (marijuana) and other herbs." In fact, adds the book, "fumigation with, or the inhalation of, the smoke of various substances has been a sacred, healing, or pleasurable practice . . . since time immemorial. . . . As with cannabis and opium, so with tobacco." According to McClintock and Strong's Cyclopedia, the term "pharmacy" was used "in the early ages of the Christian Church" for the "art of inventing and preparing medicaments to do mischief." What view did the Bible take of such substances and those who trafficked in them? Alcoholic beverages are readily available in many lands. Is it wrong to partake of them? Drinking wine, beer, or other alcoholic drinks in moderation is not forbidden in the Scriptures. (Psalm 104:15; 1 Timothy 5:23) However, heavy drinking and drunkenness are wrong in God's eyes. (1 Corinthians 5:11-13) Surely you do not want overdrinking to ruin your health and disrupt your family life.—Proverbs 23:20, 21, 29-35. |
The Bible's View of Self-service or Masturbation There are those that have said that the Bible describes masturbation in Genesis chapter 38, and that Onan was put to death for the offense. But this is not true. The Bible says that when Onan "did have relations with his brother's wife he wasted his semen on the earth." (Genesis 38:9) So apparently Onan interrupted sexual relations with Tamar, spilling his semen on the ground rather than giving it to Tamar. He did this because he did not want to raise up children in the name of his dead brother. And it was for this failure to perform "brother-in-law marriage" that Onan was put to death. Two other passages in the Hebrew Scriptures have been discussed in literature dealing with the Bible's view of masturbation. The first, Deuteronomy 23:10 and 11, tells of the situation when the Israelites were in a military encampment. According to Today's English Version, it says: "If a man becomes unclean because he has had a wet dream during the night, he is to go outside the camp and stay there. Toward evening he is to wash himself, and at sunset he may come back into camp." But what is mentioned here is not masturbation. Masturbation is defined as: "Erotic stimulation of the genital organs commonly resulting in orgasm and achieved by manual or other bodily contact." (Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary, 1981) Jehovah God so created males that, when they do not engage in sexual intercourse, they will from time to time spontaneously emit semen during sleep. This emission is often accompanied by an erotic dream, hence the expression "a wet dream." Since the emission usually occurs at night, it may also be called a "nocturnal emission." The other passage discussing this matter is Leviticus 15:16, 17, which says: "Now in case a man has an emission of semen go out from him, he must then bathe all his flesh in water and be unclean until the evening. And any garment and any skin upon which the emission of semen gets to be must be washed with water and be unclean until the evening." Apparently this passage is not referring to masturbation. Evidently it is referring to the aforementioned "wet dream." Although the Bible mentions an 'uncleanness' in association with the emission of semen, this is a ceremonial not a moral uncleanness. This is obvious when we note in the next verse that an Israelite man and wife incurred the same uncleanness when engaging in their God-approved marital relations. Well, then, do the Christian Greek Scriptures say anything about masturbation? No, they do not discuss the subject. Not even wet dreams are mentioned. But does that mean that the Christian Greek Scriptures give no direction in forming a proper attitude toward masturbation? No, it does not. Consider Colossians 3:5, which reads: "Deaden, therefore, your body members that are upon the earth as respects fornication, uncleanness, sexual appetite, hurtful desire, and covetousness." And 1 Thessalonians 4:4, 5 says: "Each one . . . should . . . get possession of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in covetous sexual appetite such as also those nations have which do not know God." Such counsel applies to married Christians as well as to those who are single, but even more restraint needs to be exercised by single persons since finding relief of passion by sexual relations is limited to those who are married. Can you see that masturbation is a practice that violates the command to deaden "sexual appetite"? True, Jehovah created humans with an appetite, or desire, for sex, even as he created us with an appetite for food and drink. So the Bible is not saying that having sexual appetite is wrong, just as it does not condemn having a natural, proper appetite for food and drink. Yet we know that in our imperfect condition, appetites can get out of control. A person can come to have an inordinate desire for food or alcoholic beverages and become a glutton or a drunkard. Similarly, sex can become a chief or prominent part of a person's life, and he can thus become like people of the nations who have a "covetous sexual appetite." A person who masturbates is putting improper emphasis on sex. He feeds and enlivens his sexual craving in a wrong way. Yet not only men are involved; there has been an increase of masturbation among women. God, however, provided humans the gift of sex to use within the arrangement of marriage. But a masturbator is using sex outside the marriage arrangement for personal gratification. Such a person needs to deaden his sexual appetite in order to please God. He needs to cultivate the self-control that is necessary to de-emphasize sex in his life and to leave his sexual organs to adjust to any pressures in the normal way. Jesus taught: "Everyone that keeps on looking at a woman so as to have a passion for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." (Matthew 5:28) A masturbator often has such kinds of passionate thoughts, fantasizing about having sexual relations. Such a person is certainly not living in accordance with Christ's teaching. There can be no question that these who feed their sexual appetite by masturbating are violating God's instructions to DEADEN their sexual appetite. But how can a person deaden his sexual appetite and keep from masturbating? True, for people who have practiced this type of self-abuse, it can be a real fight to stop it. But one should not give up in the fight! With Jehovah's help, a person can succeed. He should first develop a hatred for the practice. (Psalm 97:10) Then it is vital that he make the firm determination in his mind and heart to stop masturbating. He must make it a continual subject of his prayers; then he needs to work at what he prays for. He cannot, as it were, feed the flames of passion by reading or looking at things that stir his sexual appetite. Nor can he be talking about matters that feed his inclination to masturbate. Rather, he must keep busy in theocratic pursuits and helping others spiritually, and he will receive the strength to control his sexual appetite. There is no question about it—keeping integrity to Jehovah calls for a hard fight. But it is worth it! |
All you supporters of self-serving or masturbation, would you encourage your son or daughter to masturbate? If no! Why? Would you tell your wife you are not in the mode for lovemaking because you have just finished masturbating? If no! Why? Are you a sincere and faithful worshiper of God? If yes, after masturbating how is your conscience like? If troubled, why? The simple truth is, most of us write in support of this ungodly practice because we are either ardent listeners of the said preacher or are masturbators. Sometimes we sound hypocritical. Where is the word 'Christmass' written in the bible? Where is the word 'rapture' written in the bible? Where is the word 'purgatory' written in the bible? Where is the word 'trinity' and many other pagan-adopted unbiblical teachings written in the bible? Yet we accept them like garbage comfortably and unquestionably. Hahaha, HYPOCRITE is what we are! |
