Politics / Ohinoyi Of Ebiraland: I Supported Yahaya Bello But He Is A Different Thing Today by fresho4real(m): 12:48pm On Apr 28, 2019
Abdul Rahman Ado Ibrahim, ohinoyi of Ebiraland, says Yahaya Bello, governor of Kogi, is being misled by money and “extremely wrong people around him”.

Ibrahim said Bello has lost the goodwill of the people and it would be difficult to convince them to vote him for a second term in office.

Speaking in an interview with Daily Trust, the traditional ruler said he supported Bello in 2015 because his assessment of the governor was positive, but “he is a different thing today”.

According to him, Bello does not listen to the counsel of traditional leaders “but he gave more time to those who idolize him”.

“So there is this issue of the boy not knowing what he should do because he has extremely wrong people around him. Bello is a nice young man and highly intelligent; that is why I recommended him at that time,” Ibrahim said.

“People said I was supporting Bello because he is my cousin. Well, partly, that could be one reason. Two, he had money to do it, and that money is what has misled him so far.

“A good person should always put money aside and put reality in the front. Money should just be a palliative anytime you need it.

“The governor did not allow traditional rulers to advise him. I haven’t sat with him to advise him on issues that are required to stabilise the peace of the people. I think I should advise him on policy issues, but he gave more time to those who idolize him. He is enjoying that.”

Asked to comment on Bello’s performance and the non-payment of workers’ salaries, the ohinoyi said he cannot say much.

“For the assessment, I can’t say much, I can only talk about what people are saying and what I read in the papers,” he said.

“I don’t know how he does it. If people say he didn’t pay salaries, I cannot say why he didn’t do that. As far as I am concerned, he is paying salaries. I cannot comment on whatever they say he is doing.”

Ibrahim said despite the not so good comments about Bello, he does not want the relationship between them smeared.

He said he prays for, and is working to see the governor’s re-election, even though the people of Ebira “don’t want to hear me say that”.

“Whatever I want to say is that my human relation with him should not be put to shame. I introduced him and favoured him in place of others. I did my own assessment of him at that time. He is a different thing today, as far as I’m concerned,” he said.

“His relationship with Ebira people is a bit dented because he has more relationship with the Igala people, who are leading him in government. And they are the people I am now talking to so that they will have a change of mind and vote him back.

“Honestly, they have the votes. All I am trying to do is to get them to give him another term, after that if they don’t need to see his face anymore they can seal his fate. Whatever term they want to give, I’m prepared to go to any length.

“I’m really trying to get my people to support his second term, but I know that they don’t want to hear me say that.”

Politics / Bello Pledges To Pay New Minimum Wage In Kogi by fresho4real(m): 7:55am On Sep 30, 2018
In keeping faith with the demand of labour union to avoid frosty relationship in the present dispensation, the Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has pledged to pay the minimum wage that is agreed upon by the tripartite committee set up by the federal government.
The chairman of the concerned Kogi State Workers’ Forum, an informed organisation based in Lokoja, Kogi State, Com Adex Shaibu, made the statement at a conference in Lokoja, yesterday.
Com Adex stressed that this is in spite of the impasse in the committee’s meeting that led to the national leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) giving a 14- day ultimatum to finish and announce a new minimum wage.
The chairman stated, “I am however pleased to assure the Kogi State workers that the state government, ably led by Alh Yahaya Bello, has expressed ability and willingness to pay whatever is agreed upon by the federal government.
Adex said that labour was not happy with the unnecessary delay on the issue of new minimum wage, particularly since the tripartite committee was set up in 2017 and held public hearing in the six geo-political zones in Nigeria.
“We condemn in strong terms any attempt by failed politicians to distract the present administration in the state from its “new direction agenda”, Com Adex hinted.
Calling on the workers in Kogi State not to subject to lies and rumour and unsubstantiated news, Com Adex noted that governance is about physical, socio-economic development, accountability and integrity.
He said Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration was laying a great and sustainable foundation for the welfare and economic prosperity of all the people of the state.
However, Com Adex urged Governor Bello to key into the policy direction of the national chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Com Adams Oshiomole, which is anchored on the principle of “Let the people lead”, adding that by this singular action, there will be sustainable development, good governance and transparency.

Politics / PDP Leadership Surrender Osun by fresho4real(m): 12:05pm On Sep 28, 2018
What's on your mind?
The PDP leadership surrendered Osun.
When it came to crunch time, the PDP let Adeleke down. He must have felt like an orphan
Almost everyone knew Omisore would be vital. You can ask the US embassy. The PDP sent no one. Saraki went with Okupe who is just coming out of retirement. Saraki's entourage had looked rich until the APC visited Omisore.
The APC showed desperation. And put its birthright on the line. The party chairman was there. 6 governors went with him. They must have seen the chickens offered at that shrine by the PDP. And they must have offered cows. Even if Omisore were a pastor.
The PDP chairman was in Wike's boyquarters in Port Harcourt. Wike himself was not interested. He is peering down his political microscope looking for the most painful ways to deal with the party if they mess with him.
Okowa didnt show up. Fayose was working out his exit route. Even that refugee , the governor of Kwara, didn't show up. They left it to Davido and his uncle.
The APC meticulously took back Lasun whose intimidating influence in Orolu LGA was proved last week. While the APC patched up its net, the PDP ran helter skelter, from pillar to post and then to court. It was injury time.
Even Fani Kayode who is from Ife was nowhere to be seen. He must have been in Abuja. From there he was calling Omisore. And must have warned him not to join hands with the Fulani jihadists! He saw no need to lend a helping hand in knocking at doors for Adeleke. But he will take to twitter today and let out emotions.
Where was Ben Bruce? Where was his love for the party? He was tweeting it from Abuja while Ganduje was sleeping in Ile Ife.
We can forgive Dino Melaye. He is not sure of his own ticket yet.
But where were Gbenga Daniel and Atiku? Atiku was needed in Orolu!
These social media noises cant help anyone.
The leaders of the PDP failed Adeleke. And they failed him big time.
But you know what ?
They will blame it on Buhari.
