Politics › Re: How Governors, Senators, Others Stopped Magu by Freshtee(m): 1:00pm On Mar 16, 2017 |
Princedaniel: The governors and other corrupt senators in the house are not up to 1/3 of the entire house. Then how come the rest of the senators (mostly APC) didn't vote in support of Magu?
Truth of the matter is that even though the senators may have voted him out for selfish interest, but its hard to blame them for doing their job. Should they have given him a free pass even with the indicting report from DSS?
Even though there seems to be schemings from people in high places against Magu, I'm more interested in building and strengthening our institutions and selection processes.
We have over 700 LGA in Nigeria and I can authoritatively tell you that each of these LGAs have the capacity to produce 5 candidates way better, efficient and corrupt free than Magu.
For the record, I can never hold brief for the senate. But we have to say the truth when the need arises. What you simply don't understand is that there is power play in the Senate. when some senators talks on the floor of the Senate, others shuts up. Do u know how many former governors that are occupying the Senate at the moment. Do u also know that some of these governors foisted the present governors( some of which have been caught in the web of this malfeasance) on the people in their respective states. So like the story reads, there is conspiracy of aggrieved forces being displayed in the Senate. If a first-time senator dare acts contrary to the interest of either the former governor turned senator or present governor on whose back he rose to become a senator, then he is a goner. |

Career › Re: How To Look Busy At Work Without Really Working by Freshtee(m): 7:42am On Jun 24, 2016 |
Cieno: Whether or not you are getting your work done, it’s important to look busy. If you look like you’ve got a lot of downtime at work, people might think you are expendable; here are some great tips to looking really busy, even if you’re not . .
1. Always walk around the office briskly and Often with a sense of urgency. It doesn’t matter where you’re going: a meeting, the bathroom, or on some random stroll around the office. When you walk the halls, keep a brisk pace. If someone tries to stop you for a chat, give that person a quick hello or wave without missing a step. You’re too busy to talk and can’t waste one second lollygagging around.
2. Always keep a stack of paper or binders in your hand while away from your desk The papers can be blank, or the binder empty. It doesn’t matter. No one will know. Better yet, stuff the papers into the binder. Either way, it will look like work. This is especially important when hanging out at a coworker’s cubicle or workstation. An armful of paper makes it looks like you’re talking about work when you’re really just talking about how wrong America was for not choosing your favorite person to win the Voice.
3. While at your desk, run the tape on your adding machine with random calculations (if applicable). Not only does it make you look busy, it makes you sound busy. Rip the tape off and sigh loudly every few minutes to make it seem like you’re working diligently to solve some major problem.
4. Stare intently at your computer screen. Keep your hand on the mouse and click three quick times. Then feverishly type on your keyboard. Repeat. To be even more convincing, open an email draft and start typing stuff. Create a shopping list or something.
5. Constantly write things on Post-it notes. This is works if you don’t use a computer at work. You can use them to jot down that shopping list or a playlist you want to create on your iPod. Perhaps you want to practice your signature or come up with a list of potential names for the kids you plan to have one day. Or, maybe you just want to doodle. Whatever you do, keep that pen moving. Make sure at the end of the day to collect all your notes. You don’t want any evidence of your busy work laying around for prying eyes.
6. Wear your glasses. Even if they’re just for reading, keep them on. Always. And if you don’t need them, buy a fake pair. Busy people wear glasses.
7. Don’t talk. Don’t say a peep. If a coworker calls your name, ignore her. When she comes to your desk, pop your head up from your pad of post its, computer monitor, or adding machine with a surprised look on your face. Apologize and explain how all this work has made you completely oblivious to world.
8. Use your cell phone to call your desk phone. Answer it and carry on a fake conversation. Keep it brief and throw in a “right, yes, and ok” every few words or so. End the conversation with “I’ll get right on it”, and clumsily hang up the phone. Throw in one of those loud sighs for good measure. It seems the boss has just assigned you with yet another project that is sure to keep you busy for the rest of the day.
9. Type and Scribble Furiously Whether you are doing actual work, finishing up your shopping list, or chatting with your mates, you should always be typing or scribbling furiously. Because you are a busy person and you need to finish this task as fast as possible to move on to the next . . .
10. Do some actual work..but not too much Use this as a last resort. When all else fails, do a little work. But don’t spread yourself too thin! Easy there, tiger. Don’t do today what can wait until tomorrow.
Source: http://www.naijasauce.com.ng/how-to-look-busy-at-work-without-really-working/ To do all of those things you have mentioned are more demanding than doing the work.....instead of you to encourage people to be hardworking and diligent in their respective day to day activities, you are here advocating laziness and redundancy. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Primate Ayodele Unveils His Prediction For 2016 by Freshtee(m): 8:48pm On Dec 28, 2015 |
EzePromoe: The year 2016 is coming and with it many prophecies from respected men of God. The founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has unveiled his prophecies for coming year in an interview with the Sun News.
Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele
Nigeria is currently facing many challenges. The deadly Boko Haram insurgency that Buhari’s government is said to have crushed, the upsurge in pro-Biafra agitation, corruption and many other political battles.
Read below the top 14 prophecies from the prominent cleric:
1. Nigerians should not expect President Muhammadu Buhari to achieve much in the anti-corruption war as the whole effort will backfire as several notable people who are close to him will be indicted and thereby tie his hands such that he will not make progress.
2. Buhari’s administration will have more problems by removing the oil subsidy. If care is not taken, we are going to buy fuel at N200 per litre. The removal of oil subsidy will spur militant youths to damage pipelines to steal products for sale.
3. Nigeria army will not be able to defeat Boko Haram if the air force is not fully involved. They can only defeat the insurgents with combined air and ground assaults and using satellites to target their leaders.
4. People in the south west and south south must be careful because the Boko Haram will infiltrate these areas. The insurgents will still carry out more suicide bomb attacks in Plateau and Abuja.
5. If the All Progressives Congress is not careful, the party will crack. Also if the PDP does not go back to beg the founding fathers, the party may not recover, because some PDP governors will flee to the APC.
6. A northern party will emerge. CPC is not yet over. A group from the north will recreate the CPC with a northern person in charge. APC as it is now will have problems if they are not careful. APC and PDP need a lot of prayers.
7. More political parties will be registered. Not all House of Assembly speakers will finish their terms. It is only prayers that will make the Taraba woman to go back to that seat.
8. Seriake Dickson has to pray very well to retain his seat.
9. The Halliburton case will come up again.
10. In probing Jonathan, Buhari will end up shooting himself in the leg. What I mean by that is that as he tries to trouble Jonathan, it will cause problems. He will only be able to hit corruption, but will not make much impact. In the process of the corruption battle, some people who are close to Buhari will be indicted. That is why I said that Buhari will shoot himself in the leg.
11. Buhari will make efforts to make Nigeria better, but his efforts will be frustrated by a cabal in his government. He will step on many toes, but that would frustrate his administration the more.
12. Buhari must not overlook Biafra. He should dialogue with them. He must not hold dialogue with Boko Haram. If he does it, he will destroy his administration. Nigeria will face a lot of agitations by different groups. His government should not see these predictions as doom messages, but as a warning and follow the advice appropriately.
13. NFF will have crisis. If our club sides play very well they might win a cup. They have to be motivated or they might not perform well. Government efforts to alleviate poverty will not be easy, fruitful. I see a lot of crises: Kanuri-Fulani crisis, Hausa-Fulani crisis. We should pray against massive fish poisoning in the river.
14. Atiku should seek the face of God very well because some people want to create trouble around him and destabilize his political machinery.
https://www.naij.com/679025-read-top-13-shocking-prophecies-coming-year-buhari-biafra-boko-haram.html These ain't predictions not to talk of prophecies... Anyone who is well grounded with Naija politics can make these calculations. Believe these rubbish as prophecies at your own peril. Is there even real men of God in Nigeria? |

The money this guys took to the UK will never return to nigeria. The money is currently being used to develop UK. I wish all this politicians can be smart enough to know that moving money from Nigeria abroad only makes Nigeria worse and develop the countries they move them too. money laundering is like investment for the countries they land. i neva knew u could also think in that direction.... The foreign governments are all aware of these funds stashed away in their land by our politicians but rather kept mute knowing that the more money they have, the better the development in the country which in turn rub off on their economy.
Femi Falana, a famous Lagos lawyer, has criticized President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption strategy. The Lagos lawyer while speaking on Channels TV programme said that “contrary to the general belief that former President closed his eyes to corruption, President Goodluck Jonathan did so much in the fight against corruption including the sack of three of his ministers for alleged graft.”
Falana added that Jonathan carried out the most positive loot recovery without making noise about it.
It should be noted that during the Jonathan’s tenure, the administration presented the Single Bank account for the country, saving billions.
Their electronic payroll payment system and the Bio-metric registration of federal personnel recognized 68,000 ghost workers and over 50,000 ghost pensioners.
The previous government also introduced the Single Contract Requisition system with a legislative oversight.
The cashless economy was the cause that “Ghana-Must-Go” vanished in the National Assembly and around the corridors of his government.
This falana guy is two facet jare...everyone one knows how he accused GEJ of cluelessness when the latter removed fuel subsidy in 2012. Y is he praising him now? I think some people's mouth needs to be shut forever. |

If he had tared d road to his village it is pple like op that will still come here shouting "Emeka Nwogu diverted public funds to tar d road to his home town".
That road is an equivalent of lets say Benin-Ore road(both are federal roads). Imagine u blaming a minister of Agriculture hu is from Benin for not fixing d Benin-Ore road when dat road was bad. it will be better if he could fix the road for the benefit of his people instead of lodging the looted funds in one foreign account for his personal use. |

Politics › Re: Buhari's Planned Probe Of Only Jonathan Administration And The "Far Past" by Freshtee(m): 10:02pm On Jul 23, 2015 |
barcanista: Since his March 28 electoral victory, President Buhari has been credited with some statements that are so unworthy of his office as the President of Nigeria. The latest of them is the President's determination to limit his probe to Jonathan's administration only. Add to this, Presidential Spokesman Femi Adesina insulted our sensibilities by these words...
“If you recall, that was already settled before he got inaugurated as president. He has said he will not waste time digging into the far past,” “The far past will includes Obasanjo and others. But the president has said he will not waste time to go that far.”
In addition to the above statement, the Spokesman also said... "He can’t afford to go too deep into the past or else it will be destructive for his administration." https://www.nairaland.com/2471364/buhari-probe-jonathans-govt-only
1. The "Far Past" Exclusion:
There was no time during the electioneering or transition period that Buhari made any statement like excluding "far past" administrations. What is "far past"? This obviously is a new creation aimed at protecting certain persons.
Let us do a recall that before the election, APC Chairman John Oyegun was quoted to have said.. “It is clear that from the Buhari’s perspective and that of the APC, the future of the people of this country is too important for us to spend valuable time trying to dig into the past...”
Oyegun further made clarification that the "past" is pre-2015 (not pre-2010) when he said
“And we are going to go into a situation, post May 2015, where the law will normally take its course. There will be a line drawn on the sand; on one part is the past, the other side is the future." www.punchng.com/news/only-corrupt-nigerians-oppose-buhari-says-apc/
We also recall that Buhari himself on March 11, 2015 in a campaign rally in Kaduna state made it clear that he will only probe post-May 29, 2015 corruption cases. www.newtelegraphonline.com/i-wont-probe-former-leaders-says-buhari/ www.thenationonlineng.net/buhari-i-wont-probe-past-govts/
There was no talk of "far past" at any time.
2. Obasanjo, Atiku, IBB etc And The "Far Past"
Isn't this laughable? If Buhari had changed his mind from his earlier position, isn't it sane that he probes former administrations especially from the IBB regime? If he insist on probing democratic administrations, then why not start from May 29, 1999? Nigerians will like to know what happened to the billions recovered from Abacha. We will like to bring those indicted in the PTDF scandal to Justice (Obasanjo, Atiku and co). We will like to know what happened to the N2.3trillion the Obasanjo allegedly spent on power. We will like to bring to justice the Haliburton "thieves" among others.
Is Buhari now trying to protect Obasanjo, who happens to be his military benefactor in 1977 and his navigator to the March 28 electoral triumph? Is he trying excluding the Abacha regime because he was part of it? Is he protecting Yar'adua administration because he was his kinsman and certain officers of that government contributed to bring him to power? Why is Buhari making nonsense of leadership?
3. Going Too Deep Is "Destructive"?
What is destructive in bringing officers of past administrations that has looted our common wealth to justice? Is he trying to say that he can't probe his benefactors (Abacha and Obasanjo), his kinsman (Yar'adua) and his Northern military comrade (IBB), but will only probe Jonathan's administration because he neither benefitted from Jonathan nor is he a kinsman to Jonathan?
Finally, I want to reiterate that I am not against the probe of Jonathan's administration(PDP and Jonathan also share this sentiment). However, it amounts to injustice, unpatriotism and "unstatesmanlike" for the President to come up with a new "jargon" such as "far past" in his bid to shield his benefactors from probe. I to appeal to patriotic Nigerians to call on President Buhari to tow the path of sanity, fairness and statesmanship in leadership.
May God Bless Us All. wont u just leave this man alone and let him concentrate on what he's expected to do,why are u so cynical, why is it dat u dnt see anytn gud in ds man.. If mr President says he will limit his probity on the immediate past administration alone, so be it.. Jonathan had every opportunity to probe his predecessor but he wouldnt do it. And if in future, buhari's successor decides to probe him too, he would be highly welcomed... Moreover, the misappropriation of funds during GEJ regime was too much that any meaningful citizen who wants the good outta this country will just overlook..i am not saying GEJ didnt do anything, he tried his best but it was his regime that public funds looting got to a head...pls for once be constructive in ur criticism |
