teepain: I only expressed the position of the law and not my opinion.
Did the girl steal from him? She didnt commit any crime if the rapist freely, of his accord, gave her material gifts. Let us even assume the worst case scenario; if the girl stole from the rapist he ought to have reported to law enforcement officers and not resort to self help. Judging from the law angle. Can she prove she was raped? Remember, the act happened in the bedroom and the only witness admitted doors were unlock. How will you convince a jurist that a boy raped his lover? |

teepain: Unfortunately, your opinion is at variance with the law. The OP, like every other citizen, is duty bound to report any criminality that he is aware of.
Unfortunately, the OP's friend is a felon and the OP is a potential accessory after the fact for the following reasons:
1. He promised to wade into the matter by advising his friend (the rapist) to compensate the victim monetary with the intention of helping his friend to escape prosecution.
2. He is justifying the rape action of his friend by saying that the rape was a direct consequence of the lady accepting material gifts from his friend, the rapist.
3. He was present before the rape occurred and did nothing to prevent the criminal act.
These are enough grounds for the OP to be put behind bars. She wickedly suck the guy of his finances, now you still want the girl to use a friend to her supposed boyfriend to get him into jail? Answer me, when was the right time for her to release the punny? Did the devil appoint her to terminate the guy's destiny? |

elektra: Correct me if I'm wrong. Are you implying that when two people are going out/dating and the guy beats the girl, tears her clothes and forces his pr!ck into her vag!Na, it is not rape? Why should a guy suddenly beat someone he profess love to or dating. Such situations simply means one of them is benefiting and the other is dissatisfied. It is better not to date a maniac than to think you could outsmart him and later tag him mugu. I'll counsel you to define relationship with your boyfriend before he become another rapist |

Let them report they have no case against the boy.
What were you doing in his house?
Did he force you to his house?
Is he your boyfriend?
How long have you been dating him?
These are questions she would have to answer to expose her stupidity.
.... Then did he drug you? Did he threatened you with arms?
To substantiate rape claim from a greedy lady won't be easy ooo |

SC31: pls what's your point exactly,so if I'm dating someone and I choose not to engage in premarital sex and I accept gifts from him(my supposed bf) that makes me greedy
And you're talking about morals condemning the girls action and justifying the guys action, like I don't get....no morally upright man would rape a lady no matter the circumstances Forget all this no matter what, no matter the circumstances bla bla bla needless gender fight. Did you discuss with the guy of your view on sex? What was his reaction? If his reaction is not in Concord with your view why not cut off the relationship? Why test his reservation by visiting? Look for a guy with low sex drive like you and stop taking from someone you're not ready to compromise your principle |

I just weak for some ppl oooo. Honestly I tire for people crying foul. Majority of the girls that are victims, you see their siblings telling them to bring ice cream, sugar, meatpie when coming back. Even their mothers join in the frenzy by demanding for gift packs. When she got raped afterward, you see them demanding for the guy's head. |

For ladies.....
Visit a man if both of you are involve in a platonic relationship.
If the relationship is still at its infant stage, go with a younger sibling or a friend.
If you're not comfortable, always meet with him at a public place.
Do not go to his and always complaining you're in your menses, one day he'll be forced to find out himself and heaven help your case that day if.......
As Christians, we are even forbidden of visiting until marriage. A virile young man is like a goat in a yam barn. His Penis do the thinking for him not until he is relieved of his urge |

If a lady go on a date with a guy and the lady found out he is not her type... It is morally right for her to end the relationship and look for one that fit her preference.
If she continues taking the guy for a fool after the first date by tagging around to benefit at the expense of the guy, one day she'll be raped... Force to pay for her greed.
The reason people go into relationship is for sexual gratification so one shouldn't be in it for greed.
In this case, the boy action is in correspondence with the girl's greed! Both should be condemned as she got served!
Had she been morally brought up, she won't find her self in this predicament. |

Go to Isreal and kill one soul and let them show you an eye for an eye. Imagine a tiny Israel isolated by Muslim Arabs yet they dare not provoke them then guess what will happen to the world if Jesus Christ had allow Judaism to propagate instead of Christianity. |

Let me put this to you. What has hijab has to do with what is upstairs? You people are just too myopic for my likings. There are some Muslim female students out there, their body, well covered and still rule over some departments in our higher institutions.
You're always ready to go against anything Islamic but eager to wave away anything in favour of Islam. Why?
Later on, you'll hear them say Muslims are not tolerant when you're even the one pushing us to the wall. If Christians push you to the wall, push them back to the wall. No need for violence or killings. If Jesus christ had told his followers to give back a thunderous slap when slapped, honestly you won't justify violence. |

delishpot: Hian, I thought bride price was the koko Na. That, When a man takes it back, he has given up his rights and duty and has nothing more to do with the woman and her kids. Just a question, Can the woman whose bride price has been returned go meet the man for the upkeep of the kids? In the old when a man pay your bride price and marriage ends, children are left with the father cos it is adjudged children belongs to him. Nowadays women runs away with children. So if that's the case, yes. The ex husband is still responsible for the upkeep but independent women out of hatred block the man from providing and handle everything just like Stella Oduah case |

delishpot: If they returned dowry, and you accept, that means the kids are not yours again Na. Abeg, people that know this culture better should educate me here O.
I feel this dads pain sha. How I wish they settled this ish smoothly so that everyone involved would find peace. Dowry is like a seed money. Only parents of a bride know about it and accept. A groom do not only pay bride price, there are certain rituals /obligations done to the kins men, and community. That's the real deal and those things are not refunded back cos it is regarded a taboo. So when a man collect back his bride price, he is still entitled to the spoil of that marriage while it last cos the community that gathered and gave him their daughter have not and cannot gather again to return their rights They've accepted. |

Pidggin: See confusion Can there be custom without tradition? Tradition is a part of culture. A systematic laid down procedure that is uniform to a community but might be different to another. Custom : is a laid down rule or regulation governing a society irrespective of it traditional believe system peculiar to units. Stella Oduah was married TRADITIONALLY to her Ishekiri husband. The igbos and the Ishekiri might have their traditional differences but it is CUSTOMARY for she to bury her son in the father's compound cos if she doesn't, the ex husband will sue her in a CUSTOMARY COURT OF LAW and seek redress |
