I dont knw why u nigerians are so dumb, go abroad and see couples doing fetish or 3some with other people voluntarly, but in nigeria every minor tin is an issue.
Oya clap for yourself!

Congratulations, I never knew the Whiteman's ways have been declared the marital and moral Standard
Hmmm, no wonder we aren't getting enough divorces yet undecided

she is d problem here... Her inability to love someone wholeheartedly is d problem. If she says she has feelings for the other guy, then why hasn't she made up her mind yet? If she doesn't love d first guy, dats understandable, if she is playin wid d second guy den she is d problm.

Aside dat, love comes slowly so she should take it easy.
As I said, she's confused as to what the right decision would be.
Besides she doesn't want to hurt her man.
She wouldn't hesitate to marry her man if she thinks there's at least a 70% chance she'll grow to love him.

That man should have sensed her reluctance. If he goes on to marry her he will suffer emotionally. She should tell him the truth in plain terms and leave.
Hmmm... never saw it from that angle.

....I'll tell you this much; is she marries the "good man", she may not grow to love him, but if she marries the one "she loves" and he is "not good", she will grow to hate him...

It appears "your friend" lacks understanding of the basis for a sound long-term union. She should free that good man whilst she figures it out.

All the best.

TV
Thank you,
But could you please shed some wisdom on bold part?
Are you married? What are the things that truly count in these long term unions?
If she's misguided, a few words from someone more enlightened could save her years of pain

If marriage isn't abt feeelings den she may be making a huge mistake... If she cannot come to terms to love a nice responsible caring man, I duno whoelse she will fall in love with!
She admitted she has feelings for another person, but hasn't dwelt on that. She respects her man and has been faithful nonetheless.

But are you saying it's up to her to somehow make herself develop feelings for this man?
If yes, how does someone make him/herself love another?
FamilyHe's A Good Man, But Should She Marry Him? Please Advise by frisby(op): 11:18am On Oct 27, 2015
The reason I brought this to the family section instead of the more popular Romance session is because I need the views of people who are actually married, or have been married.

So, she's a very dear friend but only recently did I discover how much she's been suffering in silence.

She's been dating her man for over 3 years now and they've hardly ever had any issues; he's a good man and she has never had to worry about him cheating.
She knows he'll make a good husband, and admitted this when I asked. He's focused, serious minded and responsible. He has asked to marry her about 8 months ago. But she's been using school as an excuse. Telling him to wait till she graduates (she's in her final year in the university)

Here's the challenge however, she feels no passion for this man, in her own words "my heart is not in this relationship"
And to make matters worse, there's someone else she has feelings for, whom has even asked her out but she politely turned down.

This issue has been making her lose sleep. She has never attempted double-dating or cheating on him. She likes and respects her man and does not want to hurt him.
I've heard people say "marry whom loves you and not whom you love", I dunno if that works, I've never been married and would hate to give my friend an advice that'd ultimately bring her regrets.

So, please, dear married people.
Did does that work? Marrying someone you don't love. Do you grow to love the person eventually or something? (mind you its been over 3 years now and she still hasn't grown to love him)
People say marriage isn't about feelings, but about commitment, responsibility and mutual respect. How true is this.

Please advise.

Dear Op
first I haven't failed to notice that you indeed care for him and you are worried about your future home.
I have read through the comments and some that I see...my heart keeps beating fast and I'm afraid if I read more..oh well!
I want you to realise something, just because "men" have been generally stamped as promiscuous doesn't mean yours has to be like that.
what happened to the love our parents had? I do know we are not in their era anymore but marriage is something one must be careful and careful again before entering. so before u decide on what to do? Have a deep lovely conversation with him and if you really love your man pray for him cs if indeed he sleeps with other girls while he still has you, marriage won't change a thing.

P.S and fr those ladies here who has suffered at the hands of the wrong guys, don't create a mental picture of ur unfortunate world to the minds of some here who still believe in Faithfulness and true Love.
I refuse to believe all men are the same because I am yet to find anyone that shares the same finger print with my future husband!!!!
OP if you love your man, pray for him.
Wow. What a beautiful thing to say.
I bet you're one of the few from a true home. Because frankly I find it mind-blowing that a person from a home with mom and dad living in mutual love and respect would come here and spew thrash like "all men cheat"...their dads and brothers must be mongrels!

My heart hurts tho, that someday you may fall into the hands of someone that will make you come here to say "all men cheat" as well.
I hope this doesn't happen.

Hello Walcolm, and Anyone who uses a passport.

Please how well does the BlackBerry passport perform as an e-reader? For e-pubs and pdfs.
*not Web pages and things like that*

Whats the resolution like? And at that 1:1 aspect ratio on a 4.5" panel, can you read for extended periods without hassles?

Would you recommend the passport for an avid reader who spends at least 2hours daily reading books?
Or do you think a small-sized tablet will still be needed?

Hello OP.

I observed you just registered on NL for the purpose of this inquiry, meaning it must be important to you.

I don't have answers to all your questions and will leave that to those who do.

However,

1) for mobile plans, I would advise that you find out what network you'll be calling the most (a.k.a partner's number) and get a sim card from the same service provider. Calls to same service-providers are generally cheaper.
Sim cards can be purchased, registered and activated within 12hrs.

2) I do not live on the island, but lagos is generally secure for movements. [s] Except you're a criminal, in which case you should watch out for our law enforcement patrols [/s]. Just kidding grin

Provided you don't plan to keep late nights (11pm/12am) you should be fine.

3) souvenirs. That's no problem. You can easily ask around the local markets. Lots of things you can buy.
[s]Or if you can pay good money, I can rob my village shrine for you.[/s]

4) there are more superstores than you can count. And yes, there are also a few shoprite outlets.

5) local dishes?
Don't worry. Just visit the restaurants here and ask them to "surprise you" grin
They got you covered.

6) two weeks should be enough to learn about the Nigerian lagos way of life. Nigeria is vastly diversified culturally. And whatever is left of said culture will be there for you to enjoy. (it's sad, but our people are hurriedly dropping our rich culture for ways of the whiteman. It's a good thing you're visiting now, because in 10 years, there might be no "nigerian culture" to learn of)

We'll be glad to have you in our wonderful country.
I hope you enjoy your stay.
All the best.

What are some interesting places to look out for?

Any caves, wildlife parks, museums, lakes/rivers/waterfalls, mountains, zoos, etc

Bro, why are you surprised? They're all like that, the only fault of the OP is that he's still sleeping with her. The mentality of most gals is so twisted you can't even hold them responsible for their actions cos they'll always blame the guy or claim they were offered a better deal like monkeys they're, won't wait to leave 1 branch before getting a grip on the next. All the duplicitous gal had to do was break up with OP and move on but instead she was bedding the 2 guys and they're all forming solidarity for her.
You will live long.

I'm not surprised some "men" won't call a spade a spade especially when it comes to women.
