PoliticsRe: EFCC Arraigns John Abebe by frog12: 10:23am On Aug 01, 2018
so efcc was sleeping for 23 years, and when back to ribadu's drawer for cases he hid away. haha

akelicious:
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday arraigned a businessman, John Abebe, for alleged forgery.

Abebe, who is a younger brother to the late former First Lady, Stella Obasanjo, was arraigned on four counts before the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja.

The EFCC, in the charges, claimed that Abebe “knowingly forged” a November 30, 1995 letter written by BP Exploration Nigeria Limited to Inducon (Nigeria) Ltd.

The anti-graft agency claimed that the businessman “illegally inserted” into page 2 of the said letter “the following statement: “Also note that the ‘Buy-Out Option’ only applies to the pre-production stage of the NPIA. The $4m buy-out is thus irrelevant from production of oil in any of our fields.”
According to the EFCC, Mr. Abebe also attempted to “pervert the course of justice” by tendering the allegedly forged November 30, 1995 letter “as a fabricated evidence” in court, in Suit No. FHC/L/CS/224/2010 between Dr. John Abebe, Inducon Nigeria Limited and Statoil Nigeria Limited.
The EFCC accused him of making an attempt to “mislead the court” by using fabricated evidence, contrary to Section 120 (2) of the Criminal Code Cap C17, Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2003.
The EFCC prosecutor, Rotimi Oyedepo, told the court that by attempting to pervert the course of justice, Abebe violated Section 126 (2) of the Criminal Code Cap C17, Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2003.
The prosecutor added that forgery was a violation of Section 467 of the Criminal Code Cap C17, Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2003.
But when the charges were read to the businessman on Thursday, he pleaded not guilty.
Justice Mojisola Dada, while adjourning the case to enable the defence counsel, Mr. Uche Nwokedi (SAN), to file an application for his client’s bail, ordered that Abebe be remanded in Ikoyi Prison.

PoliticsRe: Special Report: Salary Of Nigerian Senators. by frog12: 12:22pm On Dec 13, 2014
Is it not madness even if your lawmaker makes N100 million a yearhuh?

Craziebone

By virtue of my job, I am privy to some info. The Op's analysis is not entirely correct. Most of the allowances there are annual. The basic salary however is monthly and dat alone is approximately 30 million naira. There is no way in this country that a lawmaker would earn 2m annually- that's an entry level salary in moderately paid govt offices. The constituency allowance too is not annual, it is released quarterly. There are lots of other hidden allowances not reflected here. The documented annual take is not up to 353 million but it is also not 29million naira. It is in the region of 80-100 million for an average law maker.

Craziebone pointed out that all the other allowances took bearing from the basic allowance. Now this is true, and the implication is that, since the basic is monthly, every other allowance is calculated on monthly basis. Now this is a good point but It wasn't done that way. That data originated from 'Osun Defender'- a tabloid during the occupy Nigeria saga. I think it was exagerrated for effect.

Ishilove dear, like I stated above, there are lots of other allowances not declared so it is very possible that their eventual take home is higher than the amount bandied. if u have any information pls share.

I'm sick and tired of the sham we call government.

Good

Bimboscoo:
Much as pension scheme sounds so good, it's the business of some people who have absolute control over your own hard earned money. For Christ sake, why not use your money to build a rental apartment in a low cost area and have full control of your pension by yourselve. Have you ever asked yourselves where the mechanics and bricklayers collect thier pension from? These people collect thier pension from the houses they built when they where in active service. They are the landlords while the office workers are the tenants. Think about it.
CareerNNPC/OIL Salaries Of 1m To 5m NAIRA A Month A WASTE? by frog12(op):
Why should NNPC employees or any of the government owned oil companies get atleast 1million NAIRA in salaries every month? It is even reported that some receive up to 5million NAIRA a month, when there are many unemployed youths around?

Should the government restructure NNPC and stop this waste, and use that money to create more employment?

I simply think this is a big waste of money!
It is an idea of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and I'm beginning to lose confidence in her intelligence nowadays.
BusinessRe: YouWIN Final Awardees/Winners Announced by frog12: 2:54pm On Aug 27, 2012
This is a waste of money!
It should have been allocated to sponsoring employment training programmes with existing companies.

This is a product of Ngozi Iweala.. frankly, I'm not impressed with her plans nowadays. They are too costly, and would not develop us.
CareerRe: 800 Sacked Mainstreet Bank Staff Protest by frog12: 2:17pm On Aug 27, 2012
We should discuss intelligently.
What ought to be done are simple:

-CBN banking exercises of 2009 was just a mess; it should not have resulted in people losing their jobs!
-for that, sorry to say, Sanusi should be sacked.
-Mainstreet Bank, Afribank will not exist anymore; it's only a matter of time. It's been destroyed.
-so also the others, hmm... keystone bank, etc.

How can you sack 800 people from the Banking Sector in a developing economyhuh?? That's disaster!!!
