slimanyd: Bro. I wan ask you a question jare , Is the annual leave a must for everyone working in UAE. And perhaps, if it is, what's the terms of the leave, perhaps , one intends to travel to his home currently for an occasion on the annual leave. And how many days is it, who covers the expenses, flight and is salary also paid aswell. Thanks. Hello, You are entitled to annual leave as an employee, days vary depending on your contract. You should be able to travel wherever you want to during your leave. From personal experience, employees are given air fare annually or biannually (depending on what it says on your contract) in the month of anniversary you joined the company. The amount is usually more than what you spend on a return ticket to Nigeria so its left to you what you want to use the money for and if you want to travel or not. But some companies will buy ticket for you instead of giving you the money. Salary is paid during annual leave. Your contract is usually a good point of reference for this sort of information. |

kid7soccer: Hi everyone, please permit to ask this question unbehalf of someone.
1) PLease in dubai what is the acceptable minimum salary per month for a bsc business admin or human resources graduate with a 1 yr job experience.
2) is a salary of 4, 000 enough for a single person to survive in Dubai for a month and would there be enough to save up considering the cost of living in Dubai (Accommodation etc already provided by the employer)
3) Do foreign degrees still pay more in Dubai
Thanks a lot support Hello, 1. It varies from company to company. Some companies will pay you ridiculously high, some others will pay you ridiculously low and others will be in the mid range. Nationality and where you got your degree comes into play here more often than not. A local with same qualification and experience will earn a lot more than a Nigerian from my experience. This might not be the case everywhere. 2. Salary of 4000 dirhams is enough for a single person as long as you don't live extravagantly, make some adjustments here and there. People are doing quite well earning less than that in UAE. 3. Yes they do more often than not. Foreign/western experience as well. |

Akunna25: Good day to u all
Please I want to find out a few things about UAE.
1. Can I rent an apartment while am on 3 months tourist visa?
2. Can I send things down to Nigeria without having a license? I heard license is needed to send things out of the UAE. How true I this? @Justi4jesu am quoting you on this since you are into logistics.....but others can contribute as well. 1. Based on my personal experience years back, you can rent an apartment on short term basis, monthly. I did it through a letting agency. Gave security deposit and paid rent monthly. There was no ejari/tenancy contract issued. I can't answer number 2 as I have no experience in this one. |

Please How can I open an account here, I have all the needed documents all authentic.
Thank You. Hi What type of account are you trying to open? If its related to your job, your company hr might be able to help. When I got my job, all I did was get a letter from HR and took to the bank, that was it. Some of these banks have partnership with companies to make opening account smooth and stress free |

Bobbyunitedfc: Guys... Pls I have a very important question that has been bothering me for months... How do married Nigerians earning less that 2000dhs cope as a couple in uae
2.lets assume I bring my wife in now, after a while she gets pregnant, is it advisable to let her deliver here considering the cost implications?
3.pls guys I need ur answers and if u in uae n u have ur woman here... Hw do u cope and let's say u have a baby too... Keep in mind only the man has a job for now As a couple, it depends on your standard of living. You might want to have privacy which might rule out living in shared accommodation. That could mean spending a good chunk of your salary on rent, well it all depends on which Emirates you live in. 3000/4000 is actually the minimum amount for family visa except this has changed recently. I know people earning a lot more than 2000 and didn't bring their family to UAE. So it all depends.... Companies usually will provide insurance for wife and 2 kids as a minimum if they intend sponsoring Visa expenses for your family afaik. Insurance should cover delivery costs depending on which hospital you go to. You will spend a good amount of money on delivery if insurance does not cover. It's not cheap. Your expenses will most likely increase if you have your woman here. With a baby it will make it more difficult with 2000 salary. This is why UAE is much better suited for singles |

You need to weigh yourself and know what your chances are before coming here. As someone said you need to have something to fall back on wherever you are coming from because you will most likely not get a job when you come here. We are in the minority in terms of numbers and expertise. What is good about UAE is that it is relatively easy to come here and search for a job but your chances are slim as a Nigerian. So you can come and search but have backup plan. If your visa expires and you never get job, just leave, don't fall into the trap many have fallen into.
If you have a good paying job or business, don't leave that and come here looking for job. Your pay might be higher here but what of living conditions say for example you are being paid 2000 dirhams which is 200000 naira. Interms of UAE standard this is very low and you may end up living in a labour camp, paid by your company, it all depends on where you are working and if accomodation is not covered you will have to secure a bed space. Can you stay in small room with so many people, some can't do it.
UAE I think favours the young. I will not advise anyone with kids to come here except you've got a very good paying job. Reason is the school fees is quite high. And how will cater for that if you have 2 or more kids. The only alternative is to leave your family back home and visit regularly which I will advise against if I were asked to give my opinion on it.
And if you decide to come here you need to stand out from the rest. Your CV should have something a prospective employer would like. There is no harm in employing the services of CV writing company to make your CV better. There are many available.
UAE is a very good country but like any other country it has good and bad sides, the good ones outweighs the bad ones I must say. You need to seriously analyse your situation in Nigeria, compare it what you think you will gain by coming here and ask yourself if it's really worth it.
UAE is not for everyone in my opinion. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Got Two Job Offers Today. Please Advice On Which To Choose by frostmate2: 6:37pm On May 06, 2019 |
Samakus: Hi guys. I have never been more confused in my life than today. I lost my contract job on the 28th of March 2018. Since then, I have been networking and applying for jobs online too.
Fast forward to today, I got offer letter from a private firm I did interview with 2 weeks ago and I was asked to resume tomorrow, May 7th. Now today again, a federal university I submitted my CV with (man know man thing) contacted me that my name is on the latest employment list released. Both jobs have almost the same salary. I'm confused like kilode! I don't know what to do. My mind is tilting towards the federal job but it will require me to relocate while the private firm's own is located in my state of residence.
I have never been this confused in my life. The private firm's employment offer demands two weeks notice before I resign or they will hold my guarantors. Please advise dispassionately. I have been looking for work for nearly two months. Now, it's coming as a confusion to me.
Mods please move this to front page. I need to think properly. Opportunities like this don't come twice Take the federal job |

LeRoyACCA: Good Day Guys!
Many thanks for all those that have been updating this thread with valid information.
Please, I have some few queries and will like those that are in the finance/accounting field in UAE to please advise ME.
I'm a Chartered Accountant-ACCA-UK Member and also have passed CFA(US) level 1 and writing Level 11 CFA Exams by June'19 with more than 8 years relevant experience in Financial Modeling, ERP, Budgeting, Financial Planning & Analysis, etc.
Currently I' work as a Senior Financial Analyst here in Nigeria and make like..N500k per month. From my experience, it's really difficult for one to make above that without knowing someone (I might be wrong though).
Looking at coming to Dubai to job hunt and will like to know from those with local experience if its worth it and whats the best way to do go about it. I've had guys that have move from here and were lucky to find great jobs but all of them are in IT and not in Finance.
Any advice 'll be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
LeRoyACCA. You might not need to come to Dubai to job hunt. You might want to apply from Nigeria online and through agencies that hire people in senior positions. Accountants in senior roles with reputable companies are smiling here. With your level of experience and qualifications you can get a good offer. Avoid start up companies and make sure school allowance for kids if you have kids and accomodation allowance is included in your salary. Aim for the big and established companies in Dubai. If you really want to come here and try, take a short leave from work to job hunt. |

Oracle55: Please i need your candid advice, i have been able to raise 800k and for now am left with two choices, am a graduate and the only son of my mom so i need a better life.
Pls i have an agent who will do for me a work visa for a security job in Dubai, salary 220k, i will pay a total of 800k for the visa and flight.
Please is it adviseable i travel or i use the money and rent a house here in nigeria. I have searched for job for over 3 years here in lagos all to no avail.
Please how is life in Dubai? What are your suggestions, should i go or stay.
Pls mods help me move to front page Do you trust this agent of yours, how are you sure he is genuine or fake. Agent scam is common. Another option you can consider is getting a three month visa and search for jobs yourself. You will most likely not spend up to 800,000, naira, there is no guarantee you will get job but imagine losing all your money to a fake agent. |

Please can I get a Contact Center Job in Dubai??....ur response would be highly appreciated Yes it is possible but could be very hard. And pay in most cases is not much. What's your take or advise? Yah if it yields the result intended. I will never advise anyone that has a good thing going in Nigeria to leave everything behind and come here looking for jobs. It's better to stay put in Nigeria and work on migrating to Canada, Australia and the likes. On the other hand if you are struggling in Nigeria, you are young and not married, I see no reason why you can't come here and try. |

Ijiimmayi: Firstly our FBI lady. Really dont know how u get ur info but I benefitted from nonnyG,natty and justi advise on this forum. I actually took my time to go through his testimony many times wen I was stil in naija. So it’s unfair calling him out like that. Then to my intending uae travellers. Yes if we ask u not to come u wil feel we don’t want u to come. Truly speaking it’s not easy at all. If you have a job back home that pays your bills , plz I beg you to remain and manage. But if u feel u have the mind to take risk then embark on this journey. But be proud of whatever outcome u see. Not coming here to stil blame people. It’s not easy here. Especially for Nigerians. By the time u go for like 6 interviews and they said they don’t need Nigerians. Let me stop here. Feeling bad already This is very true. It's not easy getting a job here man for we Nigerians. Even low paying jobs like cleaner or housekeeping is very hard to get because the powers that be like to go for one of their own rather than another nationality. This applies for better paying jobs more often than not. But I think 95-5 is a bit far fetched I must say and it's not 50-50 neither. That's just my opinion. |
