Do you think spending over 500K on a 3 months job seeking trip is worth It now?

What's your take or advise?

Yah if it yields the result intended.

I will never advise anyone that has a good thing going in Nigeria to leave everything behind and come here looking for jobs. It's better to stay put in Nigeria and work on migrating to Canada, Australia and the likes.

On the other hand if you are struggling in Nigeria, you are young and not married, I see no reason why you can't come here and try.

Please is it true that visa to all Africans has been on hold for now? That's what the agent that is handling my employment visa told me today.

The agent is lying. There is no such thing as that.

Thanks so much for the response...

He later let me realized that it's not from the embassy but from the said company that's processing my employment visa.

According to him " They are saying we are too corropt and Africans are terminating there jobs for another after company had invested in there stay which make company to run to loss"

I’m regretting because the stupid agent talked me up on getting jobs that pay 500k and above only for me to get here and the jobs he’s offering are construction jobs and helper jobs that don’t even pay enough for a decent accommodation. I mean c’mon I was making that much in Nigeria. I had a 2 bedroom apartment with another 5 months rent but instead I’m here sharing a room with 5 and a toilet with what feels like the whole of Ras Al Khaimah.
80% of the jobs available on job sites would rather employ any other national.
Actually I’m just so disappointed in myself that I fell for this.
Well if I don’t get a good job by 19th next month I’ll just use my return ticket to come back home jeje.
Oga steezyhere how much did they say is the salary for the helper's job?

Dunno about Doctors but know of two Nigerian nurses. One is a paediatric nurse actually and attended to my grandson when he was sick on one of our trips.

Both worked at Latifah children hospital. There might be Naija doctors in UAE but you'd get better luck searching on professional websites like LinkedIn, not Nairaland.

Yes it is possible but could be very hard. And pay in most cases is not much. Usually averaging 3000 dirhams. Do you have a contact centre job in Nigeria? Don't leave that looking for a similar job here, it might be better to take leave from your job and try your luck here. Contact centre for banks and telecoms I know of but I haven't come across contact centre for oil and gas here. I am not saying there aren't any but haven't seen yet.

Sure there is, but I won't advise u set out for uae binding ur mind on juz such job, have an open mind for smaller jobs in case things didn't fall as planned. Also, considering the discrimination against Nigerians over there, I think u really need to think twice, if u hv a reasonable paying job here in naija already, mayb u shud considered the risk (90-10) before setting out for uae.

my advise/summation is based on what i've learnt from this thread and advise of frnds in uae
