Congrats to all all who have landed and also to all who hope to land in advance. please I have a peculiar situation I want to share for your opinion. My family and I did a short landing in February and we have our PR cards already. My wife's passport is in her maiden name when we planned to change was during the peak of booklet scarcity, we then decided to go ahead with our application using the passport with her maiden name since time was of the essence then. Now we plan to have her change her passport to her marital name since the present passport is about to expire but I'm guessing it might be an issue especially with our people at muritala as her PR card still has her maiden name. I want to know if anyone knows if it is possible to change name on passport and the request for a travel document back to Canada in the new name and then apply for a new card with the new name in Canada.

Or to just wait till one gets back to Canada and the request for a change of name on the passport with the Nigerian High Commission in Ottawa. Finally if one goes with option 2 who know the average processing time for passport application at the Nigerian high commission in Ottawa as this present passport is about to expire.

Just a quick one, please I want to find anyone knows about one leaving Canada before PR card arrives and for one reason or the other there is a delay in sending the card. I know one can get a single trip travel document back into Canada. I just want to know if anyone has an idea of how long it takes to get this travel document back into Canada.

@MRSDA: the correspondence is sha the koko. I'm not sure about the country of study but for my wife we filled UK for country of study and we did not have any issues. I think the correspondence thing is a new instruction because as at when we submitted there was nothing of such on their website. Guess they've been having issues with online studies and PCC. Anyways the most important thing is for the body evaluating the degree to recognizes the school of study.

So all documents uploaded, just trying to cross the is and dot the t's.

Anyone knows if we need to write an LOE for hubby's masters? He did it by distance learning from the UK so he does not need to get a police certificate.

Does this need to be explained? Please help o...we must submit tomorrow! We have danced around this mountain too long :-)

@MRSDA U can put correspondence in bracket in front of the UK masters program when filling the generic application form.

Please another clarification, I just went to DHL office to send my passports and I was told that I do not need to send pre-paid return envelope with my package, that once the passports are ready the high commission in Ghana will send me a mail and that is when I'll then go to DHL office to pay for the package to be returned and also a letter of authorization for the high commission to release the passports to DHL. I just wanted to run this by the house for seniors to please help out.

Please I need a few clarification concerning passport submission.

1. Do I need to include the IMM008 form in my package even though my family composition has not changed, I think I should because the letter says updated family information.

2. High Commission of Canada
Immigration Section
P.O. Box 1639, 42 Independence Ave, Accra, Ghana.

Is this the address I'm to send my package to as there is nothing in the letter that states specifically where the package should be sent to.

Yes oh ITA tomorrow by Gods grace...infact as I landed, I have hit the ground running as regards preparing remaining documents. Abeg I get some few questions oh .

1. I have confirmed that KSA banks don't issue any bank letters in CIC's format oh. can I employ the method of getting a 6-months statement of account and see how I can get their normal letter of reference? In that case, what's the right CIC address to write?

2. Based on 1 above will I have to also explain the bank situation in the LOE?

3. My ubth reference letter carries job title of "Medical house officer" but in EE, I had since written "Medical Doctor". Hope that wont be a problem? although the job descriptions are on point.

@esosa4real: do you mind sharing a copy of your ubth reference letter, let me see how the job description was written. OAUTHC have some issues with that, thanks.

Good day house, I've been a silent follower of this trend and it has been very informative, i already have ITA and I'm trying to get my supporting documents. I need advice concerning proof of funds. Presently I'm servicing a car loan with my employer. do you guys think it's better to volunteer that information because I have a strong feeling that these CIC guys do a background check on applicants financial/credit ratings when reviewing applications.
