Every good deed in Nigeria must be turned into tribal politics in Nairaland. If these philanthropists think like Nairaland tribalists, Nigeria would have been a battle ground.
You must be living in cuckoo land.

Nigeria is already a battle ground, since 1967, courtesy of the great Ojukwu

While you are arguing;
I dont argue. I make bold statements why Yoruba group are the best in Nigeria, and indeed in Africa.

Many members of your ethnic group go to bed without food.
This only concerns Ibo people as most of them have been starving since 1967.  Hausa and Yoruba people are hardworking folks

Many youths in your ethnic group are being recruited into criminal gangs because they have no jobs and are hopeless.
POC: This only pertains to Ibo people. kidnapping is rife in the SE and is now the biggest source of income for the 5 decrepit states that make up Alaigbo. The other day some Ibo folks kidnapped the son of a rich Yorubaman

Many youths in your ethnic group are becoming love-peddlers out of frustration.
We all now Edo people like to Nyansh a lot. And if you do what you love, money will follow. I dont see how this is a problem.

Children in your ethnic group are chased out of school because their parents cannot afford their school fees.
Very shameful of the Ibos.  Thank God there is free education in the SW. One of the lasting legacies of Pa. Awo.

Members of your ethnic group die because the cannot afford hospitals bills. Some die because the hospitals are ill equipped.
Ibo people and money: very bad combination. Ibo people love money than their lives.

Heebo/Ebo/Ebola people love money more than they love each other.

Thank God I am Yoruba.

When did I say I was better than everybody? I'm not.

The truth is, this discussion is basically an academic exercise for me. It has no lasting consequences in the real world, so me making some points and pointing out some distortions should not be viewed as "fighting a crusade". I'm actually not even bothered by which version is fundamentally true. There would be nothing wrong with either version, actually. I merely wanted to clear up some misconceptions by certain over claimers.

Also, aren't you like 40+ years old?

Yet you're the one getting emotional over this? undecided

Pitiful.

THIEF Abiola simply gave back stolen money. Mention any decent Yoruba who have done anything for others. Ratty chipmunks
He must have stolen it from your wretched father and used part of it to get to insert his kini into the same hole you came out from. if not, you wouldnt be here talking shyyt like a mistaken product from a low class Ibo slut. grin

Ramon2:
Igbo and Northern foundations often look at Nigeria as a whole in disbursing their charity. Yoruba foundations only look at Yoruba. I have not read where a Yoruba NGO did anything for others. Selfish rats.
I guess when Abiola was doling out a million naira to every federal university in 1994, he only targeted Unis in the SW?

You are such a slowpoke and only an Ibo slowpoke would open such a debased thread without doing due diligence.

PoliticsRe: Buhari Dares Akala On Use Of Mapo Hall by fstranger3(m): 12:49am On Mar 14, 2011
eku_bear:
Don't contracts need to be honored, fstranger? I don't see how you don't have a problem with this
It depends on the nature of the contract. Who knows what new information came to the fore that made Akala change his mind. The issue here is that what he has done is not new in politics. They need to get the hall ready for the President's wife's event and they cant afford to have the hall beehive with activities 24hrs before the president's wife's. I am not a PDP fan, I just dont have any problem with what Akala has done. he is the CEO of his state and the security of the people of Oyo State is his responsibility and if he does not have the resources to hold high profile events back to back, it is his duty to take the best possible decision to safe guard and maintain the peaceful atmosphere in Oyo state. And if that requires he cancels any planned activity of an opposing party, so be it.

Regarding contracts: Well, contracts need to be respected, but they are not set in stone. The owner of the hall has the right to do whatever they want within their domain, including, but not limited to cancellation of prior contractual agreements with any group. The management of Mapo hall probably has it somewhere on the form that they reserve the right to cancel the agreement at their discretion. If this was already communicated to them(CPC), in writing or otherwise,  I fail to see how this is now a problem. The CPC is just crying wolf to whip up public sentiments against Akala solely for their own political benefit.
