GenBuhari:
Can somebody help me to explain to my Grandmother in the village how the International Conference centre would impact her life positively?
It's not feasible for everyone to benefit directly from every project undertaken by the government. From an economic perspective, an International Conference Center will attract visitors/conference attendees that will spend money in restaurants, grocery stores, hotels etc which will in turn stimulate the local economy. So if your Grandmother in the village seeks direct financial gains from the ICC, nothing stops her from going to the city and becoming a vendor of some fast moving good, assuming she's in good health to work.

Health / Re: Please Help! I Forget Things Easily, Do I Have A Medical Condition? by fuugee(m): 6:11am On Mar 05, 2022
The mind is a very complex virtual space so you have to explore different memory enhancement techniques to understand and train your mind to remember things. First off, make conscious effort to keep track of the kind of things that you mostly forget and those that you recall effortlessly. You might see a pattern in the kind of information that fails to stick. We tend to recall things that are meaningful/important to us and that have an emotional connection. You can practice writing things down, that way it reinforces the memory and aids in consolidating the thought after you review the notes.
Think through things you want to recall and repeat them mentally. If you can remember academic material needed to excel in school as you have alluded to, then your condition isn't medical. You just need to train your memory and use some well know techniques that are available online. Do a Google search and you should find a lot of resources on this subject.
Good luck!
Travel / Re: Nigerians In USA, Do You Save More Than N15 Million Yearly? by fuugee(m): 8:14pm On Mar 07, 2021
Depends what you do in America. If you work for somebody or company, I don't care if you are a doctor, engineer or lawyer, or mere warehouse worker, your income will be limited by tax even if you live frugally because you have no control of your taxes and you will shed almost 50% in taxes if you make more across taxes (federal, state, property and estate). Lets say you make $150k, government collect almost $75k in taxes across. You are left with $75k, after your house, car, emergency and personal expenses, you re left with $10-20k in the bank every yr. You can live a comfortable life but you will never be wealthy!

Now, if you own your own business, not mom and pop kiosk, I mean real business over $500k in revenue, you will have more control of your taxes. Once you understand how America works, which most Nigerians or black immigrants never understand anyways...just living the American dream blindly( big house and nice cars) and fatally in debt, you will know that America rewards business owners and entrepreneurs. Most Asian immigrants understand this which is why they own their own business and don't work for people!

Any Nigerian you know that is very very wealthy in America, has his/her own big business. These are not small boys and girls, they have over 5 employees (that's over $200k/90million in payroll a year assuming $45k each employee a yr), business location cost $500k-$5million. They rarely pay taxes because their business give them that advantage. Go and read why and how the rich in America pay zero to no taxes...actually government doesn't want you to if you create job, invest or an entrepreneur!

You've made very valid points overall, but there's no way someone who earns $150,000 in gross annual income will be taxed at 50%. in the U.S. It should be more like 35% max depending on their marital status and number of dependents. Agreed the tax codes favor business owners more than paid employees but the disposal income available to people will depend of several factors like: location, lifestyle, spending habits, financial responsibility etc.

Travel / Re: With N20M, Should I Travel To USA Or Stay In Nigeria? by fuugee(m): 6:26pm On Feb 22, 2020
If your dream and desire is to leave Nigeria for a well thought out plan you want to execute in the U.S, then go for it. N20m is a reasonable amount of money to cover your expenses for a while in the U.S. Life abroad has its challenges but overall is more rewarding for hardworking and enterprising folks. I live in the U.S and I'll tell you that there are a ton of opportunities to make money here. Many people keep talking about starting a business with the savings you have but the business terrain in Nigeria is not conducive, unpredictable and volatile. So dude my 2cents to you is to leave if you can.

Politics / Re: How Would You Spend 4.97 Trillion-naira ($31.8 Billion) Nigerian Budget by fuugee(m): 12:15am On Oct 18, 2011
Delta007:

$31Billion for a country like Nigeria is not alot of money. I see a few of you folks appropriating numbers around without understanding the real cost of these services or commodities. To put things in perspective, Mississippi is one of the poorest states (if not the poorest) in the US with a population of 3million people. It's 2011 budget was $4.5billion. South Carolina's budget for 2011 was $21billion with a population of 4.5 million people. So how would you spend $31billion on almost 150million people.

Point of correction, the said amount is the budget for the Federal Govt and excludes the amount appropriated to the 36 states from the federation account which is quite substantial,Lagos state alone had a budget of $3billion for the 2011 fiscal yr.
The key issue which has been stated is the misapplication of our commonwealth by the prodigal sons in govt.
As for me,I'll embark on massive prison construction to accommodate all those that a virile anti corruption body and balanced judiciary will displace.
Romance / What Really Binds Couples Together After The Romantic Flame Is Out? by fuugee(m): 10:11pm On Sep 25, 2011
Most marriages seem to be contracted for social conformity and procreational
needs rather than for complimentary partnership.
It's said that people should be (best) friends with their spouses to
sustain their union when the initial romantic spark(sexual appeal)
inevitably burns out.
Yet the difference between the sexes seem to be in the way of true friendship
which is based on mutual interests and goals.
Most females are very narrow minded and shallow about male pastimes with
a lot of them without proper hobbies.
Generally speaking, can men and women really be friends? with the obvious
divergence in their dispositions.
Knowledge is superior to ignorance.

Its a complex mix.
1. The economic downtown is a major factor as it deters young men from starting families early.
2. The movement for gender equality allows more famales pursue careers and seek professional growth before marriage as oppossed to what obtained in the past.
3. Spiritual/unseen hinderances. With the increasing quest for material possesions, Godlessness and decline in their spiritual growth, many ladies are undercover brides to aquatic husbands who would ensure these babes remain single in the ethereal.
4. Greed, sugar daddy syndrome i.e aristoism ,early pregnancy etc
