You’re pathetically insecure and need to go see a shrink ASAP!

The OP was talking of the political, democratic and developmental structures in place in Igboland pre and even post independence that helped drive development in the region! He mentioned the age-grade system, that still exists till today, and the fact that even foreign visitors to Igbo villages of the time commented on how neat and orderly they were! Pray, what has all this got to do with ‘cannibalism’ and a Hobbesian state of nature!? Did any of the colonial travellers of the time who visited Alaigbo write in their memoirs that they managed to escape by the whiskers, chasing ‘red-eyed Igbo cannibals’ with an acquired taste for oyibo flesh!? If not, then why do you keep banging on about cannibals and Hobbes!? Was your own ethnicity the epitome of civilisation, saintliness and good moral conduct during the colonial era? If so, can we have their name so we can use una to brag to the Europeans that there was actually a settlement in colonial West Africa that was way ahead of them in civilisation so they need to go sit their haughty, superior feeling ass down and STFU!
That deranged lunatic that calls himself KwaraRat reminds me of Adeyinka Grandson. I won't be surprised if they're one and the same person.

We are having this kind of attack second time this month and the pattern of the attack is exactly the same.

Due to farm invasion of our livestocks, we only allow them to graze at night and leave them till daybreak while we let them into their cage.

The first victim of this wild attack was Huda ram, he was sick and want missing, after about the third day, we found him with his head ripped off from the neck, likewise the second goat, brought in for mating about 12 days ago, felt sick, recovering, went to graze and the second day we met him this way.

We are currently working on installing perimeter net for the first part of the land we intend to use for livestock, that's about 3 acres, it separates the farm from the remaining land meant for crop plantation.

Which animal do you think is on the prowl?
Kindly suggest how to capture or kill this animal.

PoliticsRe: Can Lake Chad Be Recharged - Fact Check by fx45(m): 10:59am On Nov 23, 2022
9gerian:
This is debatable.

Tinubu has demonstrated his capabilities for revenue generation especially in the face of massive deprivation if we go by his performance as governor in Lagos. Lagos funds were held yet Lagos thrived under Tinubu. That is uncommon leadership imho.

I believe the edge may have come from his stated background at Deloitte (which I am aware is in dispute but await the conclusive outcome), especially with the handling of the joint venture partnership between Saudi Aramco and National Oil, amidst other projects he may have led.

At least we did see some out of his out-of-the-box initiatives that changed the status quo of Lagos State finances, even if far from perfect.

This is where Tinubu is miles apart from the rest. He has a grasp of the problems from a systems point of view, and not just from a critique’s like others.

My assertions here is why companies hire mostly based on experience and expertise, and not just oratory prowess. Simply put: what have you achieved with the previous opportunity you got?

However, and notwithstanding the above assertions, Tinubu comes across as very ill, weak and incoherent (I wish he was fit), hence, I’m looking beyond him for this election. The facts are the facts, whichever way you turn it though!
So long an epistle!

Can you please tell us why companies retire staff when they get to a certain age?

Are we supposed to bring back Jay Jay Okocha, Sunday Oliseh and Kanu Nwankwo to the Super Eagles because they were exceptional in their prime?

How many Megawatts of power does it take to pump a billion litres of water

Also why is the Lake Shrinking ? Is that cause/reason no longer there?

What impact would this have downstream in the Niger Delta

Before you start insulting your father, containing water over-spilling from the sea shore in less than one kilometer of space isn't same as recharging a Lake Chad that borders four countries.

Just curious, is it possible to channel all those annual flood from Benue and Kogi into the Lake Chad? I believe the distance will be shorter and use one stone to kill 2 beds.
Let's assume it is even possible, the flood water won't be enough to recharge 1/100 of the entire Lake Chad.

On the realistic side of it, the water you're referring to flows downwards from it's source. Lake Chad is up. I doubt the possibility of rechannelling the Benue River to flow in the opposite direction.

Tampering with either the River Niger or Benue has far reaching consequences than the disappearing Lake Chad. Unless there are other smaller rivers closer to the Lake Chad... But again it is not a Nigerian project. There are four countries occupying the Lake Chad basin and recharging the Lake should be a joint multinational effort involving Nigeria, Chad, Niger and Cameroun.

please educate me
The uploaded image is from the Lake Chad from 1973 and recently. You can observe that the water has dried up in more than 70% of the entire lake leaving only vast vegetation of dry land without water.

In order to save the lake from drying up completely, you have to recharge. The process of recharging entails refilling up the lake again with water. To achieve that you need to channel water from another source into the Lake. This can be achieved by pumping water from an ocean or diverting a nearby river into the Lake. Either way, it is not an easy or cheap process.

Please note that the Lake Chad is more than the size of the entire South East. We're not talking about a small portion of land.

I hope this gives you a little insight into what recharging the Lake Chad is all about.

Another option is to start planting vegetative covers and trees to minimize evaporation and aid cooling of the environment around the region. But it’s long term and the recovery process will be slow.
What you're talking about is a preventive measure. More than 70% of the Lake Chad has dried up already. What is needed is a fresh injection of water to recharge the lake.
PoliticsRe: Can Lake Chad Be Recharged - Fact Check by fx45(m): 7:19am On Nov 23, 2022
kingreign:
It’s gonna be a very expensive venture trying to recharge the Lake Chad. First, pipes will be laid from Atlantic to Lake Chad with powerful pumps to push the water up north into the basin. Desalination machines and tools will need to be put in place also to rid the inbound water of sea salt as Lake chad is a freshwater lake. These are no small feat, they do not come cheap and are not something that can be done in less than a year. Such project takes time and are usually divided into phases.
Another option is to divert a river to the Lake Chad. So which River is Bulaba planning to divert into the Lake Chad?
