Employment with a major oil and gas for over 4years is a strong tie. I wish you all the best in the new application. There is a myth that the longer your application the more chances of approval. It means they are working on it. So dont panic bibiliscious: High paying job - yes I work for a major oil & gas company for over 4 years and recently got a promotion and salary increase which I attached in my new application , Assets - not much though I have a registered event planning business and running since 2016 - attached all CAC documents |

Do you have a high paying job and assets? bibiliscious: No kids , single though engaged (didn’t mention I was engaged in my previous application )
Reapplied 24th june and wrote in my LOE that I’m engaged to be married later this year amongst others . It is officially 50 days today and yet no response /eligibility not yet reviewed |

Valid question. I know for sure applications are treated at different countries but when passport is requested, are they sent to the country where the application is processed? May be this will explain why some get their passport back before others. dotcomnamenamee: Where do they normally issue their visit/tourist visa? Some people said Ghana, some said Lagos, some said London, and now the attached screenshot is showing Kenya. Confused! |

This indicate the average time it took them to process an application in the past 3months but I still feel that their processing time is just generic. Unlike UKVI that once 15 working expires they will contact you telling you "your application is not straightforward". IRCC will never contact you after the expiration of the 45 or 64 days CAP. Even if you contact them they hardly respond. So patience is the word. granmurdafucker: Happy holiday house! Please can someone throw light on this processing time question. When I applied it was 45days now it showing 64days. Thank you all |

I have read from this platform people getting passport request even after the event has passed. I am a living example although when I noticed my initial date has passed, I booked another related appointment and I attached it using case specific web form. So if your event is flexible, you can do same. IRCC accesses your admissibility beyond your present trip. Their focus is to be sure there is a higher tie back home that will be taking you out of their country every time you visit. ABOVE IS MY MERE THOUGHTLarrydogged07: Good day guys. I am new here my family
I applied Canadian Visit visa and I did Biometrics on April 24th, 2019 and filled as August 5th as the day of my Visa and it has elapsed. I haven't heard from them yet.
What's the probability of getting this Visa. Please I will appreciate responses. |

You are not too early my brother. I applied in March and got passport request in July and if you see my earlier post till now my passport is not yet returned to me. That's almost 6months. Some are lucky though they get decision early. But bottom line is October is not too early. @bolded After arrival at where? London or back home Enick: Hello, great men and women in this forum,
I intend traveling to the UK for the first time in the month of October and immediately do a biometric for Canada visa application a day after my arrival. Does it show a sign of desperation?
It is a wise decision to do a biometric in October for a travel plan for April 2020?
Please kindly offer your candid opinion. Thanks. |

Yes, I was able to track it today and it showed "still being processed ". How long did your own take? I am yet to receive counterfoil message either. Was it an email or from cic account? I Really need the passport back asap for an urgent trip. oriazowan: Have you tracked it with the new tracking number you were given when you submitted your passport? They wouldn’t send you a message that it is ready like in my case. I only got a counterfoil message from cic stating the validity of the visa. |

I dont think that is the implication of that clause in the offer letter. It simply means you cannot use the offer letter to process a work permit. You can use it to gain point in the express entry pool. It is after you have secured your PR you can then work with them. Also note that the applicant is not under any obligation to work with them. PR allows you to work with anyone and anywhere. If what you insinuated is the case, they will help the applicant get an "unopen" work permit that will restrict him to only work for them. Rence22: 'Thank God it wasn't translated but written in plain English language. It means what it reads. Such a person would be employed indefinitely after receiving Permanent Resident Status. It's a form of exploitation. If the number of years the person would be under their employment after obtaining PR is stated, it would even be better but it is NOT stated. My advice-don't accept the offer or you re-negotiate making them state the number of years after PR status is obtained in the same contract letter. The document can and would be tendered in the court of law if violated. Don't make them think you are a fool and desperate for immigration otherwise you have placed your freedom in their wicked hands which you will forever regret. Think seriously about it again. Please. |

Yes. But the route is as good as impossible. Your employer will have to file an LMIA for you proving to IRCC why only you and not millions of their citizens and PR can fill the position. If by some stroke of luck your LMIA is approved then you can apply for your work permit. I don't know about children schooling. Since you are there on a short visit why enroll your children. I will not advice break the terms of your visa akinajibola: Good Morning All,
Please I would like to confirm if I can obtain a work permit with a tourist Canadian Visa and if my children can attend school in Canada considering our status.

If you see the second bullet point it clearly stated you can use the form to update or add information. When my application passed the event date, I used the form to add new event so that it won't appear my purpose for the trip has passed. Few days after the upload I got a ghost update on my account. This are my understanding though. granmurdafucker: Exactly my thought!

"Almighty pedantic " means someone or something that is extremely careful and it is a taunt not a commendation. Please dont misquote me. No one can take the place of God. I agree with your other assertion though. NothingDoMe: They are not almighty. The only almighty is God. Anything run or created by humans will inevitably have errors. It is normal for people to try to circumvent a system and sometimes they succeed despite the checks and balances.
There was a couple that had their visa approved in the US birth thread. They later got a mail a few days later that they should return for interview and were refused. My personal opinion was that they applied to US first and while waiting for the interview they applied to the UK. Then before UK gave decision they applied online to Canada. This way they can circumvent declaring refusals. Canada refused but the UK granted. The US visa officer asked her about the UK visa but not about the Canada refusal because it didn't appear on the DS-160. But finally the biometric checks revealed it later on. This is just an example of circumvention. |

I doubt the pedantic IRCC will approve an application when they are yet to verify all submitted documents. I think the only verification they might conduct will be on the visas in the passport since that is the 1st time they are seeing the passport physically. NothingDoMe: I am not sure why. Maybe we have learnt how to fly without perching and they've learnt how to shot without aiming.
What I am sure of is secondary verification after passport request. |

Things have changed from the way it used to be. You need to write them immediately attaching all that you can. Livy2018: Hello house,
Please I need help and insights from you all here.
I submitted an online TRV application for my Mum on June 11, got letter for Biometrics on June 12 and she did her biometrics at VFS Lagos office on June 13. Her application was never updated. Biometrics never changed to received. This morning I got an update to her account and logged in to see that her application was refused because she didnot comply with teh rerequest for Biometrics. Her visa office is London.
This is a bit weired becaue she did Biometrics and got an email on June 13 VFS titled "Application accepted". Was there suppose to be another email from VFS?
Please whats the best course of action at this point? Raise a Case specific enquiry post-final decision? Write an appeal letter? I feel my mum's application was not fairly determined, the officer either didnt check thru properly or VFS didnt submit her biometrics, which was paid for, anyways.
Pls your kind and quick responses would be appreciated.
Thank you. |

I like your faith. It's not VFS that will request for your passport. It's the Canadian Embassy that will request for it once your application is approved. So it is not a guarantee. You will only submit through vfs Doitall29: Good morning everyone in the house. Please I did my biometric on 12th July 2019. Please house how many days will it take VFS to request for my passport though I applied online. Please I need a response. Thanks everyone |

Apparently you have shared some information before this one which I didn't get to read. So my answer is based on your last post. Note that this is an open program you are admitted for (Kindly correct me if im wrong) ECO do not take such program as priority so your application will be treated like a regular tourist application where you are not expected to spend more than 2.5× of your monthly disposable income. I have been refused before when I applied for visa on the back of an admission I secured for a short code at Cass Business School, University of London. I was refused because the total budget was 7.5x of my monthly disposable income. Saying someone want to contribute towards a non certificate course will also raise a red flag EasyMoney007: Help anyone ohh |

True. I can boldly say they don't read cover letter at all either long or short. Always use the additional information page to summarise your case. Nevertheless still include your comprehensive cover letter please. ibukunpops: Hi,
Want to lend my voice if you dont mind
You should use the part of more information on the form very well but brief, state clearly her statement is just for proof of address (they sometimes dont read cover letters well if too lengthy)
Include an introduction letter for your mum and state clearly what she is doing and who is paying for her trip.
Include a budget breakdown of the cost, flight, etc should all amount to the 1,500 as stated.
Best of luck |
