I presume the kids are here with you. You will only qualify if you are a wife or sibling of a citizen or PR holder.

Ok. My understanding is they give length of passport. I am not sure if there is a CAP to the length of years.

This thing can be painful. My TRV was approved when I had just 18months left on my passport.

No. They give the validity based on the expiration of your passport. At least if you’re a Nigerian passport holder. If you’re passport is expiring in 5 years, they give you 5 years. If it’s expiring in 9 months, they give you a 9 months visa.

Biometric on October 2019.
Nov 2019. This message is being sent to confirm that the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to the visa office in Accra for further processing.
Feb 2020. I went for medical examination instructions.

Pls someone needs an advice. I have a valid visitor's visa and my wife's immediate brother is in canada as a Permanent Residence. Having applied for authorization to unite with him, IRCC sent a message to fill a form IMM 0006 [Statutory declaration] and sign by a lawyer to declare my relationship with my brother in law.
The form could not be completed by him because there is no space that fits our relationship. Spouse's sibling is there, but sibling spouse isn't there. I am confused on what to do next. My visa expires in less than two months! Can I risk traveling without authorization letter?

Trying to compare staying in Canada and staying in Nigeria should be treated as a Criminal offence.

Apply online. You will get biometrics letter from IRCC. Its after your biometrics is updated, that's when review starts.

Yes. You will scan your statement and attach it to the appropriate place.

You will keep your passport and it will only be requested when your application is approved.

Even if the event has passed, once you qualify for a TRV you will still get it. The rationale is, you will need it for another trip. Canada usually grant the length of your passport.

Like I stated earlier, I reached out to Gimporter who was worried his response to the allegations was taking down, that made me assume his post was reported. I apologise to poster if I wrongly accuse him. Now that his response is visible for all to read and it is quite explicit. It is actually not a case of scam, but things not going as planned. Easily? Are you sure? A mother being invited by her child on a tourist visa or a sibling inviting sibling which is seen as family reunion which Canada gives lots of regards cannot be compared or have same approval chances to someone who just want to travel on a personal leisure trip. The purpose of this thread is to guide ourselves on what will enhance our best chances. I am of the opinion purpose of travel must be logical.
