It's true. We were delayed for almost 1hr before they finally allowed my wife to board. We didn't have same issue at Amsterdam or at POE. I guess the KLM employee was being unnecessarily overzealous.

She cant. She doesnt have a status in Canada that will qualify her spouse for SOWP yet. Study visa approval is not a status. Anyone can apply for a visitor visa at anytime. She will try to make her case.

All she currently has is just a study visa. Study permit will be issued at POE. Which is what she will use while filling for SOWP or any other dependent visa.

Apply now. Nobody will ask the size of your house. What matters is your status and proof of fund you can take care of them.

Hi Everyone,

I'm about applying for a visit visa for my mum/dad to visit this December to offer emotional support as I'm expecting and they'll be staying with me.

Note that I live in a 1bedroom but moving to a 2bedroom 1 Sept as my lease ends August 31st. Pls will they need to update proof of accommodation (mine) in their application and if yes, will my living in a 1bed be a red flag? Or do I wait till I sign a new lease for a 2bedroom before proceeding? Planned to start asap considering processing delays. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Dont waste your money. You are perfectly fine with Nigerian driver license for your 1st 3 months before you get their own. I have been using my Nigerian driver licence for over 2 months and I even used it to register and to obtain car insurance.

What you should get is a letter of attestation from FRSC.

Generally you dont need medical for visitor visa. For other categories of visas that required medical (If the 1 year old is accompanying parent with Study or Work Permit), the 1 year old would need. Eventhough they wont take any of his/her blood or urine samples during the medical examination, except for physical observations. Yes he would need.

Spousal sponsorship is your best and most guaranteed shot bro. It may take a year, but it worth it. I hope she has a job and earn enough to be able to meet the requirement that she can cater for you. Btw, people dont help someone secure admission. You have to approach the school yourself online.

They told us we can proceed to our host place if it's big enough to accommodate us without too much contact. I.e we can be at the basement or guestroom.

You are allowed to check out once your Covid test result returned negative. We checked out on the second day although no refund.

You are most likely going to quarantine in your 1st port of entry. Thats is where the immigration will check you into Canada before proceeding to board a local connecting flight. So book your quarantine in Toronto or get a direct KLM flight to Calgary which is what I took 1 week ago. Still in my 2 weeks quarantine.

The answer is NO. Use the opportunity in Canada to partake in the rural immigration program and attend interviews, once successful, return home and apply for your Work Permit then subsequently PR. All the best

I sent mine to Abuja on Saturday, 28th March through DHL with upfront return courier payment.

I got it back on the 6th of April in Lagos despite 2 days public holiday in between.

I’ve exceeded my work permit timeline 18 weeks timeline to 28 weeks now.

Eligibility and background checks: Processing since 24 November 2020
Last webform response Feb 2021 “Application is under Active Review”

Yes Abuja is really fast, faster than I even expected. I learnt that they might charge u extra if you didn't do your biometrics with them, I am not sure though.

I dropped my passport at DHL office, they guided me what to do, they are conversant with it

The route you want to tow is tough. I will advise you allow your wife get approved for study permit first, then you can apply for Open work permit then VV for your daughter if younger than 5 years.

I was in Euless Dallas for a meeting and decided to relax for another 6 weeks, it's a white community and most of my guys dey fashe 8am to 9pm. The 2 months is the most boring period of my life. I almost called my airline to bring my return ticket forward.
