@Topic, why do guys like to complain that women like money? dont men like money too? who no like better thing? if you were given the opportunity to chose between two cars, one a 2008 model benz and the other a 1992 model honda which will you chose? of course u will take the benz? so why do you expect the woman to act different when presented with lots of varieties? if two men are chasing a woman and one lives in a mansion in beverely hills with ferraris and bentleys while the other one stays in ikorodu, ofcourse she will take the guy in beverely hills because is the natural human instincts to chose comfort over suffering, even the guys here complaining will do the same thing if they were in the woman's shoes,
so quit complaining and live with the reality of life!!! |

Image123: As usual, unbelievers are busy fumbling with their bellybuttons and telling the whole world how busy they are. Learn to come out straight with your ignorance instead of using sty-sty to ask questions. BTW, the scripture doesn't say that Joseph believed Mary. It says an angel appeared to him to convince him. It was needful that Jesus be born of a virgin because it was the seed of the woman that was to bruise Satan, not the seed of the man. That's what makes Him(Jesus) the second Adam, a first of His kind. The second Adam is needed because a spotless sinless lamb is needed for the sacrifice on calvary. And maven, Jesus is also son of David literally. Luke 3 traces His maternal geneology. Matthew traced His geneology from Joseph. Joseph was 'technically' his father one way or the other, should we say step? Lemme stop here before tudor and friends blow up in confusion. it is hightly possible that he was in on the lie and deception, come to think of it, it would have been highly embarrassing for him that his babe was banged by someone else, so in other to save himself from being laughed at, he decided to join in on her lie so what do you think image123 |

@poster you are such a misogynistic d.i.c.k head, were you not the same clown that posted this rubbish: Before I commence, I must "tell" a short story. A young Christian wife organized a crusade, and as she was about to leave the house for church, her husband gave a directive that she was not to leave the house. She pleaded with her husband that she was the main organizer, and that her absence would portray her n a very bad light, and more so that the crusade was just between 6 - 8pm, but her husband was adamant. She left for church all the same. When she returned around 8.15pm, her husband had locked up the houses. All her knocks and calls were fruitless. She finally resigned herself to the floor by the back door, troughout the cold mosquito-filled night. In the morning, her husband, nonchalantly opened the door (as if to say that, same fate awaits you today). As the woman came in she said, "morning dear, what do you want me to prepare for you before you go to work". The man stopped in his tracks. He was expecting fire from his wife, not this. The woman reached him and put her arm around his shoulder lovingly, leaning slightly on him, and repeated, "what would you like to eat this morning". When the man turned to face his wife, tears sprang into his eyes, and the reality of what he had done hit him like a stone. He cried, "I locked you out? I don't know what came me! Please forgive me!". The woman replied that she should be the one apologising as she refused to follow his instruction, but the man replied that he knew when she returned, but intentionally refused to yield to her calls, and pleaded for forgiveness. The lessons to be learnt: 1. For several weeks to come, after that incident, the man appreciated his wife anew, and, on many occasions, when returning from work, bought gifts for her. 2. The following sunday after that incident, for the first time since their marriage, accompanied his wife to church. If you were the woman that was locked out, what would have been your reaction? I'm sure you would have released a good hiss, first. the following posts hit the nail on the head about how i feel about your stupid stories: sugar pp: @ poster enuf of all dis senseless examples! wat stops d guy bringn another woman wat guarantee that the other woman wld b sensible enough to leave. No wonder Nigerian women settle for less because they hv people like u advisin them on how to be used n abused n thinkin they r fortunate! your subject shld b understandn lowlifes nt men vivaladiva: i swear this poster is mad, okay now me i want to bring a new husband into the house, i have never seen such a •misogynistic society in all my life, come n try this foolish non sense in the uk, if u will not loose your house n pay child support till your anus bleeds, stupendous intete GL: @ Pogistega,
the story is unrealistic. like iice said, in reality the new wife would take advantage of the first wife's kindness. even if the story were realistic, the only woman who can learn any lesson from this story is a very desperate one. why on earth would i want to stick with a man who had the guts to tell me he is bringing in a new wife. and even worse, was angry with his wife when the new wife left. what kind of a pastor gives such advice anyway? well, i say any woman who reacts that way deserves whatever she gets in the marriage. why should a man tell his wife he is going to bring a new wife if he truly cares for his wife's feelings? its a ggod thing that all nigerian men are not like you and the stupid men you talk about in your stories, we are in 2010 and you are still thinkin like a bronze age man, i pity the woman that marries a clown like you fu.c.k.ta.rd |

Mavenb0x: Ilosiwaju, Jesus being a son of David is not literal and ancestral. It is symbolic, a figurative expression of his spiritual messiahship. You need to understand Jewish tradition and prophecy to unlock that.
G1, i thot u said you were not a troublemaker? I would usually not enter a thread like this, but i thought you were talking about Mary sister of Lazarus and Martha, who by gospel inference was a love-peddler before she changed when she wept at Christ's feet (John 12:3 in light of Matt 26:7, Mark 14:3, Luke 7:37). But you were not bothered about that Mary, rather, you were stirring the hornet's nest. I am disappointed. Not like I expect you to care anyway. what do you mean by being a trouble maker? you mean i should not ask questions about stuff that i find questionable? i am not a trouble maker in the sense that i dont go around trying to shove my atheism on others, like i said before anyone has the right to worship what they want as long as they dont force their belief and morals on me, i am just asking, if today a woman becomes pregnant and after being confronted by her husband and family about who is responsible, and her response is that it was god/holy spirit who made her pregnant, who will believe her?, i am sure you will be one of the first people cracking up |

Tudór: Damn right. . .and joseph was in on the whole thing too.
I wonder how someone would impregnate my daughter and tell me it was the holy spirit who did it. ilosiwaju:
For me, the miracle about jesus' birth is not because he came from a 'virgin', the real miracle is the gullibility of joseph. Think about it, my girlfriend, my fiancee who probably has been keeping se.x away until a certain time now suddenly brings in a big tummy saying it's the holy spirit. I usually describe myself as a pacifist but for that occurrence, i'll just lose it. To make it worse the bible said "and joseph was a good man". the truth is that tolerating what mary did is actually against what was advised in the bible. The old testament made it clear that such women should be stoned to death so how does joseph's disobedience make him a good guy. Mary was not a descendant of david, so if joseph was not jesus' biological father why do they now say he is from the line of david which happens to be joseph's lineage.

The bible says many things about salvation, but my dear it certainly doesn't say that. Or maybe some of us are just wired different? we all take different paths, go through different experiences, what may work for me, may not for you. But I do believe the knowledge of God is inherent in all of us - its when we struggle with questions and life we begin to doubt and deliberately strip ourselves of that knowledge.

JeSoul: 1000% right brother, 1000%.
Thank for for sharing that little bit about yourself and your family. I'm sorry you lost your dad, and I'm glad that you were able to reason and feel that way in spite of the pain that everything would work out fine.
There's a scripture that says this "And we know that everything works together for the good of them that love Him". And it simply means that in spite of all the good and bad things that may happen in the life of a christian, God is still in control of their lives and future, and He will use those good and bad things to work together to an end that will benefit the christian.
This is not far off from what you said above, about "everything happens for a reason". While I don't really rationalize every tragedy I experience that way, I view it as "even in spite of this terrible thing, God will still use it to bring about good". The earthquake was a terrible disaster, so many are still left in that situation now, homeless and hopeless. But even in the chaos, even in our darkest times, God's providence still occurs, which is the point I was trying to get with the story. God doesn't save everyone, He doesn't answer every prayer, but when He chooses to act, I pray we be able to recognize it and understand it and be touched by it.
yeah i feel you, i still try to make the best of a bad situation though not from a religious perspective, i just accept stuff as life and nature doing what they do and move on, like i have said in another thread if religion gives other people peace then thats fine by me as long as they dont try to force their morals and beliefs on me, i have a family of christians and muslims whom i still love dearly even though i dont believe anymore JeSoul: As an offtopic, I am curious as to your journey away from islam to atheism. Care to share it on a new thread? I'd love to hear the story. yeah i hope to relay a full account of my journey to atheism soon, it was a very long one , but i can give u a little bit of it before i write a full report of it, first of all i guess it was a series of doubts about everything religion stands for, like for example one of my doubts was about the issue of hell, i couldnt understand why anyone who is not a muslim no matter how good they were will burn for ever and ever and as i understand same goes for christianity( everyone who is not christian will burn no matter how good they were), these and other issues about religion led me to atheism, i hope to relay a full story of my deconversion soon, on a final note JeSoul, i just think some of us are just not wired to believe, i just cant bring my self to believe in virgin births, angels and demons, heavens and hell, but like i said if it gives some people peace then thats fine by me, hope u understand my worldview now? |

The NL powers-dat-be are not willing to create any more sub-forums or child boards (as much as I'd like the space). But frankly, if people were simply respectful of others/threads/discussions and followed the forum rules, we wouldn't need seperate sections. it will be nice if the world was a perfect place and everyone was respectfull of other people's threads, but the world isnt perfect so i guess if we had different section then atleast if you go to the christian section then you know u r most likely to meet other christians likewise if you go to the atheist section. |

though i am atheist(exmuslim) now i can see what you are getting at after studying your post, i guess you are saying everything happens for a purpose and god has a plan , just like when i lost my dad many years ago(then i was a muslim), i said to my self god has a reason for taking him from me and he was in a better place, or anytime something bad happened to a friend of mine i consoled them by telling them that god has a grand plan and he knows best, in other words i always tried to make the best of a bad situation (i still do), so i guess what you are trying to say is that in the midst of destruction we can always pick out some good, ?, am i right? is this what you are getting at? holla back |

Hello all nairalanders, i am an atheist (exmuslim), i have gone through various topics in this section i notice that no one will be able to convince anyone on his or her beliefs, and besides we cant have a world where we all agree on everything, i.e there will always be christians, there will always be muslims and there will always be atheist just as there will always be people believing other religions(hindus, jews, zeus, etc) so as to avoid the frequent topic gatecrashing and derailing of other people's discussions, why not let the christians have their section and also let the atheists have their own section too since the muslims have theirs, by so doing the christians can discuss with themselves without much disruptions and also the atheists can have their own discussions without any gatecrashers interrupting them too. so what do you all think? |

manmustwac: @JeSoul So if it wasn't for the earthquake which killed over 200'000 people injured many more and made them homeless, your friends wife would not have had the oppotunity to get her U.S. visa from the Domican Republic. Well given the circumstances in which her visa was obtained i don't think it was a good idea to write a story about it. A boy here in the U K raised over ₤160'000 to help the Haitians thats a good story and a teenage girl was just recently pulled out alive after being trapped for 15 days when neighbours heard her screams thats another good story but yours Jesoul in respect of those who died and were made homeless i don'tthink u should've wrote this story about it.
