Nairaland General › Has Anyone Here Ever Disowned Either Parents? by Gabaleve(op): 6:27pm On Dec 05, 2020 |
Good day Nairalanders, I was having an argument with a friend of mine, he argued that the Nigerian law does not support a situation where a child disowns his or her parents while I argued that an adult can choose to disown his or her parents by simply swearing an affidavit in a law court, denouncing every relationship and ties between he or she and any of the parents he or she has chosen to disown. Nairalanders I'd like to read your take on this issue, make i fit learn one two things. Thanks.

litigator: He should send a pm then. We can always work something out. One way or another. This is so thoughtful of you. May God give u d strength to keep showing assisting others in need.. That's what humanity is all about really But for now the OP is not even responding anymore... I'd even prefer the victim himself opens an account and tell us what actually happened |

litigator: Get a lawyer to write a strongly worded petition to the CP of Lagos, you can also file a Fundamental Human Right action against the police.
Join the owner of the account, IGP, C.P , AIG and O/C SARS and claim the money you lost and 10million naira damages against them jointly and severally. Once the person you sent the money to provides the names of the forcemen, join them in their personal capacity.
They have breached the provisions of the Public Officers Protection Act, it won't afford them cover.
The owner of the account will fish them out for you and you will get your money, cost of action, plus damages.
If you want to take it a step further, you can now institute a seperate civil action against them. Let them use their personal money to get a lawyer and start doing case. Shabi they want trouble? Give them real trouble us you can.
It shouldn't take long to see results of you and your lawyer know exactly what to do.
Until we take actions, things like this will never stop. Social media is never enough, so while you run to social media, also take actions to protect your Human Rights as enshrined in Chapter 4 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Imagine if your topic had been a Nigeria sues SARS officers for extortion. How does it sound like?
Shalom.

laosy: It was in Lagos, Ojuelegba bridge side precisely according to him. It happened earlier last month. He was stopped by two of the officers on the road then they told him to enter their bus while holding gun, while he was in the bus, they searched his phone and when they searched his phone and didn't see anything complicating cuz my friend was never into any cyber crime or anything. They checked his transaction details and saw his balance was over an hundred thousand naira which doesn't belong to him though. They asked him where he got the not from then he explained that the money belongs to his mom as his other siblings uses his account to send money to his mom cuz he stays with his mom. They didn't agree with that and started assaulting him with different punches and blow to his face , they opened his mobile app, and forced him to transfer all the money(over 100k, I can remember the exact figure now) to one Emmanuel Chidi account and then left I'll attach the transaction details here too.
We already lost hope about the case until I came across yours on nairaland. Someone advised me to create a trend on nairaland here. And I hope someone help us get the money back. Just create a new thread |

laosy: Good morning nairalander, I'm here to give an account of how my friend was illegally assaulted and extorted of over an 100k naira by our indigenous legal robbers, SARS Operatives. My friend is not on nairaland hence the reason I'm giving his account of the scenerio. It happened last month and we almost lost all hope until I came across a trend of how nairalanders helped a man here.

Sir uboma Sir Gabaleve, this is the trend sir pls help me push this Sir. The extortion of the police force is increasing daily! From ur story, u seem not to have an idea of the division and station of these officers, these will help the force easily track and get the DPO while ur friend's bit is to identify and testify, if he's ready |

studentofTruth: I have always said that spy cameras are the only solution to police extortion and brutality. Refund is not enough. Even suspension or dismissal of the erring officers isn't enough.
Our lawyers should sit up. With correct video evidence, citizens should start sueing them for damages left, right, and center By the time they spend more than their yearly budget paying for damages, they will learn to be civil by force from the top to the lowest officers. U very right bro |
