The health of the immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, has reportedly worsened, sparking rumours that he might have died.

However, Ajimobi’s spokesman, Bolaji Tunji, told The RoyalNG on Thursday evening that his principal is alive.
“I spoke with those around him not long ago and they confirmed to me that he is still alive. Please disregard news of his death as fake news,” Tunji told RoyalNG.

A video that went viral years ago showed a meeting he had with students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso, who were protesting the closure of the higher institution which had lasted eight months.
In an arrogant manner unbecoming of a state governor who is supposed to be accountable to the populace, he displayed a lack of empathy as he told the students off.
Apart from telling them that there was nothing strange in a higher institution being closed for eight months, he also told them that they had no right to protest the school’s closure.
In the video, he even admitted not paying workers for several months and said he was not the only state governor owing salaries.
In a boastful manner, he accused the students of not respecting the ‘constituted authority.’
I cannot understand how a state governor can talk in an inhumane way. I am certain his children attended private universities abroad and thus have never felt the pain and agony of sitting at home because academic activities have been halted for no fault of theirs.
What makes it even more painful is that some of these students are the reasons why he was elected as the Governor.
I don’t see something like this happening in developed nations. Nigeria is fast becoming totally irrelevant on the world stage because of the type of leadership we practice. How can a governor say to protesters, “Go and do your worst. Am I the person that closed your school?”

Oyo State Asks Pry 6, JSS 3, SSS3 Students To Resume June 29, Says Religious Centres Can Reopen
The Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force announced on Monday that students in Primary 6, Junior Secondary School 3 and Senior Secondary School 3 are to resume classes from Monday, June 29.
The task force, which made the decision public after a two-and-a-half-hour meeting presided by its chairman, Governor Seyi Makinde, added that this is to enable them to prepare for various public examinations.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Makinde, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, said one of the decisions reached include the resumption of classes for Primary Six, JSS3 and SSS3 students from Monday, June 29; resumption of work by all category of workers at the state secretariat from June 22; opening up of mosques and churches, which are to operate at 25 per cent capacity; and the decision to limit public gathering to not more than 25 persons.
According to the statement, students in critical classes are to resume at the end of June to ensure they are well prepared for the public examinations ahead of them.
The statement read: “The schools are to observe the COVID-19 protocols as released by the Task Force, ensure that stations for washing of hands are provided in all schools, while all students are to compulsorily wear face masks.
The resumption of critical classes at the end of June 2020 would be two clear weeks ahead of the state’s drop-dead date of July 15. By that date, it would be decided whether other categories of students will return to the classes.”(Read full details)

Igbo women are known to be beautiful and smart but Chioma's case is likely different, Her fiance presses her breasts in front of his gang and even films it and puts it online, I knew this guy has zero respect for Chioma.
A man that loves you would understand the importance of privacy. Knowing the kind of person Davido is, she should have waited for him to marry her properly before taking in but she took in, moved in with him, dropped out of school, had a baby boy and thought she's finally the owner of the house because she had a ring on her fingers and the first boy, but OBO himself Davido being the usual Yoruba demon we all know, went ahead and had another boy from another woman.
I think Chioma has learnt her lesson and I'd be very glad if indeed she left Davido, it shows she still has a little dignity and self-worth left. I pray she goes back to school and gets a degree and moves on with her life, she's still very young and has a bright future if she starts focusing on the important things of life.

The immediate past Governor of Oyo state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi is currently receiving medical attention at a Cardiology hospital in Lagos State, over what has been diagnosed as corona virus infection.
We have gathered that Ajimobi was rushed to hospital in the early hours of last week Tuesday after his health Conditions deteriorated in the middle of the night, causing panic in the family.
Ajimobi and his wife have been in their Lagos residence for couple of weeks, with the former governor only dashing in and out of Ibadan, Oyo state capital, to hold court with his lieutenants and political associates.
It was learnt from a source close to his friends in Lagos that the former Governor had woken up early on the fateful day to urinate and upon his return from the bathroom, fell on his bed and became unconscious.
His wife, Florence Ajimobi, who was with him ,was said to have quickly called on the security details in the house for help.
A security source said the security details attached to the former Governor, on seeing his conditions, rushed him from his room to the car on the ground floor and ferried him to the hospital.
According to sources, the tests so far carried out on the day Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Showed a problem with his lungs.
He was said to have had “serious difficulty” in breathing, following which he was said to have been attached to a ventilator at the hospital where Mallam Abba Kyari, the late Chief of Staff to the President Muhammad Buhari, was also hospitalised.
It was learnt that Ajimobi had been complaining of fatigue for couple of weeks, prompting his physicians to advise him to rest.

A group of Nigerian Catholic priests have developed a supposed cure for the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, a drug called Pax CVD Plus.
The disclosure was made in a statement released and signed by Father Anselm Adodo OSB on Wednesday, April 29, on the official page of the Pax Herbal Clinic and Research Laboratories, Outcome News reports.
Father Anselm said that plant-based drugs are seemingly the best approach for coronavirus because these drugs are easily produced, stored and distributed and can be handled by medical and non-medical personnel as they pose a low contamination risk.
He said the constituents of the drug are antiviral and immunomodulatory agents which help to stimulate antibodies.
The cleric said: “The Pax CVD PLUS contains herbs and active phytoconstituents with documented scientific evidence based on clinical reports of their efficacy and safety.”
According to Father Anselm, the research is a joint effort of experts from University of Lagos and University of Benin, a tertiary health institution—Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Edo state and experts sent by Prof Tunde Salako and Prof Catherine Adeyeye
Professor Salako is the head of the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development, while Professor Adeyeye is the director-general of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control.

As the federal government relaxed the ban on religious gatherings in the country, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has highlighted the conditions to be met by churches before reopening.
The national religious body said it expects churches to start reopening in the first week of June after meeting the conditions.
The guidelines were released by the president of CAN, Samson Ayokunle, The Cable reports. The cleric said the measures are put together to ensure the reopening of churches does not cause a spike in Covid-19 cases.
Below are the suggested guidelines released by the religious leader:
1. Disinfection of church premises
2. Provision of alcohol-based sanitisers, soap and water for worshippers with supervision by medical professionals
3. Mandatory use of face masks
4. Strict adherence to social distancing; one-metre gap in the sitting arrangement
5. Provision of temperature readers to take the temperature of every worshipper before admission into the church
6. People with high temperature should not be allowed into the church but be advised to go and see their doctors
7. One and a half-hour service is enough for a start, with a gap of 25 or 30 minutes between one service and another where there are multiple services.
8. Handshaking and hugging should be avoided before, during and after the service
9. Churches observing Holy Communion service should use a separate cup for each participant
10. CAN in each state and local government should constitute a committee together with law enforcement agencies in their area to enforce full compliance. Read full details

The federal government has given an update about its plan to employ at 1,000 persons from each of the 774 local government areas in the country.
The minister of state for labour and employment, Festus Keyamo, announced on Thursday, May 28, at a press conference that the employment initiative will start by October 1, Premium Times reports.
He said the beneficiaries of the projects will be selected by special committees constituted in each state of the federation.
According to Keyamo, the special committees would be tasked with recommending the names of the beneficiaries from each of the local government areas in the states to the ministry of labour.
The minister disclosed that a website would be developed where the list of the selected beneficiaries and chosen projects would be displayed for the public.
Keyamo said beneficiaries will be paid N20,000 monthly to carry out public works.

The Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force, on Sunday, relaxed the existing curfew imposed on the state in respect of the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic to between 8.p.m. and 5 a.m.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, confirmed that the decision was reached at the COVID-19 Task Force meeting presided over by the governor on Sunday.
According to the statement, the state has so far recorded 233 COVID-19 positive cases, while 171 of them are active cases.
It stated that a number of creative measures were approved for implementation by the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), which coordinates the operations of the thematic segments of the containment drives.
One of such is the approval of a facility in Ibadan for use as observation and isolation centre for a category of patients after thorough reviews.
“The Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force headed by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde has approved that the curfew currently in force in the state runs from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. The new directive replaces the initial order which pegs the curfew at between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.
“Agreement has been struck with the management of a facility in Ibadan to provide bed spaces for a number of positive cases, whose status have been well considered by the experts,” the statement read.
It advised farmers in the state to take advantage of the decision to stop the curfew at 5 a.m. to enhance their farming activities.
According to the statement, the state government is also wrapping up further renovation and face-lifting activities at its Isolation centres located at Agbami, Jericho, Ibadan, Igbo-Ora, Ogbomoso, Saki and Aawe, near Oyo town.
Besides, the statement also indicated that the planned community testing, which could not be kickstarted at the weekend owing to the festivities and public holidays, would commence by the end of the week.
The Task Force stated that training of health workers who will participate in the exercise will commence in the 10 locations after the holidays

The Republic of Madagascar has offered its herbal drug – COVID Organics (COV) – to Nigeria and other African countries.
The drug is for prevention and cure of Coronavirus.


Nigeria’s consignment has been sent to Equatorial Guinea from where it will be airlifted to Abuja.
For ease of transportation, African countries were divided into zones leading to the freighting of Nigeria’s consignments to Equatorial Guinea.
Nigeria’s COVID-19 positive tally moved to 4,399 last night with 248 new cases announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
Lagos recorded 81 cases, followed by Jigawa State 35 and Borno 26 cases to top the chart. Kano recorded 26 cases, followed by Bauchi with 20 cases.
There is pressure on the Federal Government by different medical and scientific organizations to allow the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD) and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to subject the drug to further analysis.
Some others are pushing for clinical trial of Covid Organics before being used in the country.

The Federal Government was yet to take a position as of weekend because the AU has mandated its Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) to review the scientific data gathered so far on the safety and efficacy of the COVID Organics.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) last week insisted that the efficacy of the drug was unproven.

Also, as part of steps to contain COVID-19, the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has started negotiating with the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) on how to source volunteer doctors and health workers.
The health workers will help to assist ravaged states in the North-West and North-East especially, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Bauchi, Yobe and Borno states.
The Chairman of NGF, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, is coordinating the talks with the two professional associations with juicy welfare package.
According to a source, who spoke in confidence, the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has been notified of the offer from Madagascar and arrangements were being made to bring Nigeria’s allocation to Abuja.
The source said: “The consignments of the drug are being distributed to different countries in Africa based on zonal grouping. We have been told that Nigeria’s consignment is in Equatorial Guinea from where it will be airlifted to Abuja.
“When the herbal drink is brought into the country, we will know the next step. But some medical and scientific organisations are pressurising that the drug be subjected to clinical trial.
“Some countries like Tanzania, Congo-Brazzaville, Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea have subscribed to the drugs. Also, while South Africa has offered to conduct a scientific analysis of the drug, Senegal said it will subject it to clinical trial.
“I can assure you that the Federal Government will take the best decision on the drug in the overall interest of Nigerians.
“Before any food or drug can be administered in this country, there are certain protocols that must be followed. The government will not circumvent these protocols. We want solution; we want the best for Nigerians.”
On April 28, the Chairman of the PTF on COVID-19, Mr. Boss Mustapha said the nation was ready to give Madagascar’s herbal drink a trial.He said: “I want to assure you that whatever is happening in the world, we are mindful of it and we are keeping a tab.
“I was reading of the experiences in Madagascar– of why everybody is drinking some solutions that have been prepared. This morning I was sharing with my wife, and I told her that probably I would request that Mr. President allow us import a plane load for a trial.
“We are all navigating an unchartered cause. Nobody has ever been on this road. So, every attempt to find solution that would bring succour to our people, be rest assured that this task force is very responsible and we would do everything to ensure that we get what will benefit our people, what will help them in the processes that we find ourselves today.”
On the talks with the NMA and NANNM, Dr. Fayemi said: “We have started negotiations on how to secure the services of volunteer health workers to help contain COVID-19 challenges in the North-West and in the North-East.
“The reality is that many states in these zones have problem of manpower, we need more volunteer health workers to assist them. We know we can draw these volunteers from the private healthcare sector without hurting the Public Health Sector.
“We are ready to offer the volunteers good welfare package, including robust incentives and adequate security. Our ultimate goal is to avert trouble in the affected states; this is why we are pooling resources together.”

Proactive Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-olu has reaffirm his commitment toward good governance in Lagos State Especially during the era of the new invisible enemy called covid-19.

In his latest remark released on his official handle .... He advised lagosians to strictly pay attention to the following information:

In a few hours, we will begin the first phase of #EasingTheLockdown. At a press briefing today I shared updated guidelines for all sectors.

The work guidelines for members of the public service have been amended. ALL civil servants must work from home on Monday...

Food markets across the State are to be opened only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9am to 3pm and non-food markets shall only open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays within the same stipulated hours.

There will be a daily curfew from 8pm to 6am and all movement within these hours are prohibited, except for people on essential services, which are agro-products, petroleum products, relief materials and food supplies.

...and only officers from Grade Level 15 and above have express permission to come to work from Tuesday. All other essential officers that may need to be at work will be informed by the Accounting Officer of each Ministry.

We have amended and extended the operating hours for eateries and restaurants from 9am to 7pm, due to the Ramadan fasting.

Restaurants and eateries must operate only take-away and delivery services. There will be no dine-in services allowed.

Banks and other private firms are allowed to open with a maximum of 60% of their staff strength, operating within the hours of 9am and 3pm.

We urge private companies and manufacturing firms to arrange for the transportation of their essential staff that would be at work.

All places of worship will remain closed.
The same for educational institutions; they will remain closed till further notice. We encourage parents and school authorities to dialogue on alternative means of learning and come to an understanding.

Public transport services are to operate from 6am to 7pm daily. Vehicle capacity regulations will be communicated as the NUTRW/RTEAN have been in full engagement on achieving these regulations.

Residents who had their vehicles seized by @followlastma or the Police for minor offences can still get their vehicles back free of charge from Tuesday May 5th, 2020. Contact their call centres and digital channels for more information.

It should be common knowledge by now that it is absolutely mandatory that we ALL wear a facemask in public spaces.

Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved the appointment of Mrs Bolanle Sarumi-Aliyu as his Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora.
This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday in Ibadan by Moses Alao, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Print Media.
Sarumi -Aliyu was the governorship candidate of the National Interest Party (NIP) in the 2019 election in Oyo State.
The statement also announced the appointment of Dr Anthony Adepoju and Mr Akeem Ige, as Chairman, Oyo State Water Corporation and Special Adviser on Tourism respectively.
The appointments were with immediate effect.
” Sarumi-Aliyu, who was appointed SSA on Diaspora, is a daughter of the late Ibadan politician, Ali Balogun Sarumi.
” She had her primary and secondary school education in Ibadan before proceeding to the United Kingdom where she earned various certifications in Social Work and Welfare, Psychology and Sociology.
Sarumi-Aliyu is currently the CEO of Bees Bridal Ltd and many others.
“She is also the founder of Childhood Bridge International Initiative and BASA Foundation; both of which are non-governmental and non-profit making organisations,” the statement said.
It also said Adepoju, who was appointed as the chairman of the State’s Water Corporation, is a financial planner “and an analyst of many years standing
He holds a Higher National Diploma and Bachelor of Science in Accounting as well as an MBA and Ph.D. in Business Management and Administration,” the statement added.
According to the statement, Ige, the Special Adviser on Tourism, is the immediate past Minority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly and a former Chairman of Ibadan South-East Local Government.
Makinde urged the new appointees to serve the state with loyalty and dedication while wishing them success in their new assignments.

As part of its proactive measures, four foreign students of the University of Ilorin, Kwara state, have been screened by the Coronavirus preventive Committee of the institution to ensure they are free from the pandemic disease.
Dr Adurotoye Idayat, chairperson of the committee, who disclosed this to newsmen at the University campus in Ilorin, Wednesday said three of the students were Ghanaians while one was a Chadian. Their names will soon be released once the result of the test is out.

Meanwhile, the results are yet to be released.

She said since the outbreak of the pandemic Coronavirus, the committee had put in place preventive mechanism to ensure no incident is recorded.

Dr Adurotoye explained that the committee has also made provision to distribute hand sanitizers and other preventive kits in the institution.

She urged members of the university community to ensure they observed high level of environmental hygiene.

Fortune, aged 20, has narrated to policemen how her father started having sex with her when she was 13 years old, and that he would demand sex before paying her school fees.
Her father, the Presiding Pastor of Mount Zion Light House Full Gospel Church, Obio Imo Lane, Uyo, Apostle Williams Okon Bassey, has been arrested by operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Odiko MacDon, who revealed that six others, including another pastor, were arrested for alleged incest and defilement, told newsmen that Fortune said she got pregnant thrice.
He added: “The victim stated that her father started having sexual intercourse with her at the age of 13. The continuous sexual assault led her to become pregnant on three different occasions and the pregnancies were aborted by her mother.
“She further revealed that the first time her father defiled her was in the church vestry. He threatened to place a curse on her if she dares tell anyone about his escapades. He also demands sex before paying her school fees or catering for her needs.”
The Police Command’s Spokesperson added that “on October 31, one Anwanga Essien Udo of 7, Itiam Street, Uyo, aged 33, a Pastor with Restoration Bible Church, was arrested for having unlawful carnal knowledge of his 10-year-old step-daughter(name withheld).
“When she was left alone with him, rather than be a father to her, he opted to turn her to a sex-machine.” The police spokesman warned perpetrators of such act to desist forthwith or be willing to contend with the full wrath of the law.
He, therefore, urged parents to also make haste in reporting every form of sexual harassment when noticed to the police or other Security Agencies in the state timely, as concealment of these crimes has only led to an increase in violations.
He commended the partnership of FEYREP, the pet project of the wife of the state governor as well as the good people of the state for their continued trust, encouragement and timely information.

FOUR GROUPS TO STAY AWAY FROM, IF YOU WANT TO SUCCEED IN LIFE

I have asked different successful men and I have heard from different successful men on how to be successful, what to do to be successful, things to avoid to be successful, group to stay away to be successful. I'm going to list and explain four (4) group you will stay away for a while (a moment) for you to be successful.
1. FAMILY: You will be surprise as I mentioned family. If you are still living with your family (parents), still eating mommy thank you ma, and you are up-to age of going out, you will never succeed. When you are struggling to get money, I promise you, family problems will be eating it, especially when you are staying with much family members, you will continue with "struggle and giving out" at same time, you will have no respect, no peace of mind, no plans. Immediately they discovered you just have a little money, family problems will just appear on your head (no saving). But when you are away from family, they will never monitor you or your income, is not all problems they will call you, you will have respect, and the money you send will be valuable to them because they are not feeding you.

2. STAY AWAY FROM GIRLS: A man once told me "it is manageable with wife than with girlfriend" so many girls don't understand life, they don't understand planing, they don't understand future. You will keep on flexing, clubbing, buying weavon, two set of cream, etc. Someone once told me in school "if you want to have a girlfriend here, be ready to be sharing your feeding money" so through that as a young man that want to be successful you will not be able to save what will move you to the next step. Look for wife not for slay queen if you want to be great. Vise Versa.

3. STAY AWAY FROM DRINKERS: I said DRINKERS not DRUNKERS, I heard someone making a call on Monday telling his friend where are we going to drink on Sunday, he has started planning to flex on Sunday while we are on still Monday, and last Sunday he flexed out to drink and still planning again, no vision! No saving, no good plan. So if you have those kind of friends you will likely be like them. All your income will be on drinking and enjoyment, I promise you, you will not be better than your parents.

4. STAY AWAY FROM FRIENDS THAT DON'T HAVE SAME VISION WITH YOU: If you are dreaming to be great and you have non serious friend, he may influence you with different stupidity, and all your dreams will be vanishing away little by little.
