SportsRe: ‘Enyeama's Retirement Is Sad’ – Oliseh Opens Up On Crisis by Gabygaby: 6:01pm On Oct 09, 2015
[quote author=robosky02 post=38817270]The Nigeria coach has opened up on the incident that led to the goalkeeper’s untimely retirement from the national team on Thursday before their friendly defeat to Congo

Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh has said Vincent Enyeama’s retirement from the national team is very sad, as he finally opened up on the incidents that have shaken the Super Eagles since Tuesday.

Enyeama, the country’s most capped player, announced his retirement via Instagram on Thursday after alleging insults to his mother as well as being thrown out of the national camp by hotel security in Verviers, Belgium.

However, coach Oliseh has debunked the claims, stating that he was surprised by the goalkeeper’s allegations on social media, something that has turned many fans against him as the team lost 2-0 to Congo DR in a friendly on Thursday night.

In an interview on Brila FM, Oliseh stated that the goalkeeper had insisted on airing his views during dinner after Tuesday’s training, despite the coach’s instruction to stand down and allow his observations be discussed at another time.

The goalkeeper was unhappy with the fact that he was overlooked as captain of the side in favour of Ahmed Musa during a routine meet and greet with the Nigerian ambassador to Belgium after their work out.

The coach said he told Enyeama to either remain quiet or excuse himself from dinner to enable him address the other players. Oliseh stated that a few of the senior players attempted to calm the goalkeeper before leading him away from the room.

He said he didn’t call security to take him out and was surprised to find out that Enyeama claimed on Instagram that he was thrown out by security and that his mother had been insulted.

“How can I insult your mother? Never did the issue of Vincent Enyeama’s mother come up, ” said Oliseh, while stating that Musa and John Obi Mikel came to his room to apologize on behalf of the goalkeeper and he had forgiven the Lille player.

The coach said that Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick mediated in the crisis and asked Enyeama to apologise to the coach but he didn’t.

Enyeama decided to leave camp on Thursday following the invitation of young goalkeeper Dele Alampasu as back up for the two goalkeepers in case of any injuries. Oliseh said there was joke about preparing goalkeeper coach Alloy Agu as back up in case the need arose.

"He said because I invited Alampasu, he’s going,” Oliseh said.

Enyeama then announced his retirement from the team after 13 years in a very emotional post on Instagram, stating that “it’s been the most trying period of my life”.

“It’s very sad,” Oliseh said about the goalkeeper’s retirement while hoping that the team gets back on its feet soon enough for Sunday’s friendly against Cameroon.

Despite the 2-0 defeat to Congo, Oliseh took positives from the performances of Mikel and debutant Alex Iwobi, while stating that the reason for the friendly matches is so that the team can have better understanding ahead of the upcoming World Cup quali ...............................................................................VERY SIMPLE ISSUE,A CAPTAIN WANT TO AIR HIS VIEW OF WHICH YOU STILL HAVE THE POWER TO TACTICALLY delay the view from implementation ,you short him down and even sent him out with hotel security, what a shame on you, DID YOU EVER CONSIDER HIS CLUB INTEREST KNOWING THAT A FAILURE TO YOUR TEAM WILL AFFECT HIS CLUB INTEREST,A GOALKEEPER IS NEXT TO A COACH IN A FOOTBALL MATCH BECAUSE OBSERVE EVERY ERROR FROM HIS POST YET YOU DIDN'T SEE HIS VIEW AS IMPORTANT IN THE SUCCESS OF THE TEAM PLUS THE FACT THAT HE IS also a CAPTAIN. You went ahead to use your employers to intimidate him by asking him to apologise to you. YOU LACK WISDOM.

God bless u for ds bro! I appreciate people who have a cosmopolitan view on the issues that bedevil us as a nation. Sometimes I wish God will make most Nigerians to be born outside their state of origin or comfort zone because just like u, it gives u a balance view to life than tribalists in here who have only seen Kaduna, Enugu or Ibadan on TV and cant find it on our map. It makes u see d Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba man as first a human being before d "my brother" syndrome we have ds days dt hasnt gotten us anywia!

This reminds me of a corper who only "knew" of d existence of Borno state when he got posted there! He told me he had to go check the Nigerian map to find where it was....

If only we can unite nothin can stop us!
Children with little knowledge full here, if Nigeria divide today, what are you people going to loose,OIL,and that is why many of you keep chanting one Nigeria. Start thinking beyond oil,and work towards your freedom as a human being because currently you are in a cage designed by British not your great grand fathers,if Nigeria was designed by our great grand father,it would have been easy to handle knowing where they came from, but to accept this yoke will never work.

Very true.... Hausas to me are the nicest tribe in Nigeria.

I remember a story one of my Big bros told me when he went over there for his service. He and his friend went to their market, he wanted to buy potatoes of N200 worth, when they got there to buy it was like half a bag for that amount and they felt it was too much and tried to buy just N50 worth. The Hausa man selling it said it isn't possible, but instead he gave them for free. They are very kind....

The only thing I think is wrong with Majority of Hausas is "Ignorance", that's where the issue of education sets in, because they can easily be brainwashed into believing crap.

Western Education should go along with their Islamic Education
THIS YOUR BELIEVE IS THE MORE REASON WHY SOME OF ARE SLUTERED CARELESSLY,AND WHEN IT HAPPENS THISAME SOME OF START CRYING HOUSE PEOPLE HAVE KILLED MY BROTHER. Only a fool will submit himself to be killed because of 5% good people in a whole tribe.

CultureRe: Is Traditional Marriage Complete Marriage? by Gabygaby: 9:06am On Aug 09, 2014
eldoradoxx: People most times ignorantly have to borrow money to organise 3 types of marriages which have only one effect. Traditional marriage(Customary marriage) is as valid (if not more valid) as Court /Church Wedding. Church or Court wedding are one and the same thing. Infact a proper church wedding starts from the Marriage Registry of the Court where the intending couple obtain license to marry and the 21 days marriage band is published for objection. If your church marriage lacks the above mentioned ingredients, simply know that the Marriage Certificate you have is invalid and all you did in Church was merely a Church Traditional Marriage and not a Marriage under the Act. If you wedded in Church properly, you re merely waisting your time and money conducting a second marriage in the Registry. If you have done Customary Marriage, Nigeria's law recognises this as a 100 % valid marriage. Infact Church Marriage has no biblical basis whatsoever. Church Marriage is simply English Traditional Marriage which the English people have enacted into law. Even in the law, there is no place it is stated that it must be inside a church. It must only be conducted by a licensed person and in a licensed place. So if your club has license to conduct marriage according to watever style they wish, why not. Infact a Muslim can conduct Marriage under the Marriage Act if the Imam obtains a license and the place of conduct of marriage is also licensed. The only limitation is that he must not marry more than one wife. So whether it is traditional alone you can afford, it is valid marriage before God and man. Any pastor that tells you traditional marriage is not valid and you must not touch your wife after traditional marriage until you do church wedding is a liar from the pit of hell. All Jesus attended at Cana of Galilee was Jewish traditional marriage and not church wedding. If you have plenty money u can do both.
--------------------------------------------------- You are confused and at the same time contradicting yourself, from your statement you does not regard wedding in the church and you said you are a christian. at the other hand you couldn't declare the one you fully support,in that case you are waiting for majority vote, negative or positive. This is a complete sign that someone is not groom into the spiritual guidelines of the church of which he/she claimed to be a member and this rampant among christian. NOW LET ME EXPLAIN IT TO YOU MAYBE IT WILL BE OF HELP IF REALLY YOU ARE NOT A HYPOCHRIST. Firstly ,Traditional marriage is a perfect spiritual arrangement on her own which will attract both physical and spiritual blessings from both parents of the new couple. secondly, church wedding is a sacrament (For we Catholics,it is the Sacrament of Marriage, or Holy Matrimony, is a public sign that one gives oneself totally to this other person. It is also a public statement about God: the loving union of husband and wife speaks of family values and also God's values.) this can be done in the church or any where considered to be sacred. NOW why is it done in the church? Just like baptism,(for we Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. Whether we are baptized as infants or adults, Baptism is the Church's way of celebrating and enacting the embrace of God.) IT IS A TOTAL INITIATION INTO CHRISTENDOM which in theology means (the collective body of Christians throughout the world or throughout history) The issue here is if you are initiated or baptized in christian church you are obliged to obey the rules of initiation or you end up being mess up in life.so in the case of marriage you must wed in the church or as permited by the leaders of the church. failure to do that will amount to disobedient ,and the same Bible tell us christian that obedient is better than sacrifice. And if I may ask, is double or triple blessing a bad thing? if not why do people purposely fight the church unreasonably? Finally the two ceremonies have their great advantage and if you are a christian you are strongly advice to do the two completely so as to get the blessings from both and as well fulfill your obligation as a christian,God bless you as you do.

If not for our copy-copy mentality in Africa/Nigeria, the case should have been such that the couples simply CHOOSE ONE format. But culturally, we seem to have our feet in our mouths - A lady's performs the full traditional rites of marriage, and then as if that were invalid, she starts agitating for "white wedding" and I'm like "why white? why not GREEN, PURPLE or BLUE wedding?" grin grin grin grin
In fact, we are the only ones who show utter disregard for our own traditions, and utmost respect for others'
YEYE angry
ammyluv2002: Yeah! White & court wedding are just ceremonial. You can decide not to wed in the church but you must perform the traditional rites on a lady before she can be called your wife....is in the bible and as a Christian, I always go with my bible principles not trendy principles.

Although some say is ok to get a marriage blessing from a priest/pastor which isn't bad------------------------------------------------- You are confused and at the same time contradicting yourself, from your statement you does not regard wedding in the church and you said you are a christian. at the other hand you couldn't declare the one you fully support,in that case you are waiting for majority vote, negative or positive. phantom: consultants are paid heavily in the US but what of their colleagues here.
.....and I have no problem with resident doctors earning less than other health workers BUT you must also remember they are temporary staff unlike the others who are permanent.
CONSULTANT IN NIGERIA EVEN CHARGE MORE THAN US,HAVE YOU OR UR RELATION BEEN TO ANY NIGERIA HOSPITAL WHERE CONSULTANT IS REQUIRED IN YOUR CASE? a consultant in Maitama general hospital Abuja charge us 300,000.00 naira just to handle a bone fracture ,( one leg) this outside hospital bill that took about 200,000 naira again. Majority of Doctor in Nigeria are too greedy .every one of them want to have a private hospital,no one want to serve the nation. under this development, are they not paid well? and even they do not, do they deserve pity hence their poor service and lack of commitment? I personally doubt if they do until they change.
