It was still close to toks wen I sold it. The buyer is here on NL so I know wat I'm saying ok. I hv even seen a camry 2005 bought brandnew so If u don't know ask and learn.

And it's obvious my writing 350 instead of 330 was an oversight while rushing to post.

Calculate the age, you know nothing about car.
First,you said it's a 350#.
This car was used outside Nigeria before it was shipped to Nigeria.
Ask the direct owner and he/she will explain this to you!!

Bitter truth!

I just received a call from my younger brother, a final year undergraduate of a state university located in south east.
He have been mandated by some military guys to report to them by 10 am tomorrow with two other persons who are also his neighbors in the same lodge(hostel) because a girl (his co-tenant) claimed to have lost her phone in the lodge.
They soldiers gave them till 10 am tomorrow morning to provide the phone or pay #25000 (#75000) for the purchase of the lost phone.
My brother politely told them he is a final year student and have exams at the said time and they rejected his plead stating that he will be dealt with mercilessly if he fails to make himself available by 10 am with his part of the #75000.
Am very angry because no investigation was conducted by the soldiers, they just decided that her close neighbors most pay for the lost phone even when my brother have never been to her room or have any relationship with her. He was not even around at the time the girl reported about the stolen phone.
My brother only offence is that his room is very close to the girl’s room and the nearest three rooms most replace the phone.
I have called my lawyer and will be meeting him tomorrow morning! And follow it up legally.
Does it mean I can just wake up one morning and accuse my neighbors of stealing my #5m and involve soldiers and said amount is shared within them and I get paid?
Is this really the duty of a military man?

You guys are making me scared. I just concluded d foundation for my 4 bedroom bungalow in phc. With this 14million, million million you guys are quoting, how can one build from his salary?

Taste is the major factors that make a building project cost go high.

To cut cost use:
1. Long span (metro tiles is expensive)
2. Use sliding widow (casement window is expensive)
3. Use pvc ceiling (pop is expensive)
4. Use the normal cheap tiles that is popularly used for commercial houses.
5. Use locally made doors
6. Avoid parapet
7. Surface wiring

The above will save over 4m for you.

@Mrmarley: at the end of the project with fence and interlocking he would have spent close to 18m to 19m.
The fact is that taste determine the total cost of a project.

I went for a friend's wedding celebration few weeks ago at owerri and everything was moving fine until Quincy and this guy arrived under the umbrella of UMU-ABA connect.
Honestly,they made everybody look broke,some top government officials present had to leave the event early because of them.

Honestly,i think he spent over 10m with his cartel that day!

I do not see myself as rich but i like good things and go for it if i can afford it.

Looking at the house that lead to this arguement, you will agree with me that it is been built to standard.

I know about contruction very well and the fact remains that it will cost more than already already spent to be completed, am sorry if you feel insulted but i have been to bungalors worth more than 20m and profesionally the total cost of a house is dependent on taste of the owner.

Standard is subjective when it comes to cost
I am talking about what the average nigerian can afford.
I built a two bedroom bungalow by using electronic jacuzi for all my bath does not make it standard.

I will go through my archive & post the comprehensive cost analysis of the five bedroom.

Pls note i am not including fencing & other auxillary facilities like compound interlock & filling etc. Just the building...

You read through it, and deep inside you,you understand everything!
How much does wire cost?
What about the piping work
What about chandalin lights?
It's close to a 1m. Unless you do surface then with 300k you can achieve that.
My house have 4big toilets and a small visitors toilet and 2 single jacuzi at the cost of 180k each = 360k + piping 160k then other accesories.
Check the roof, it's metro tiles!
I understand you type and the kind of project you execute because a profesional will not argue like you. The are bungalors worth over 20m, it all depends on taste.

I have friends that completed houses recently and all complained about high cost of building materials.
When it comes to standard building 12m to 15m is not a big money.

People sometimes forget that. The discussions on Hajjs thread regarding columns on bungalows and soak aways is an example.

I use to argue this way previously, 2014 i built a nice 5 bedrooms bungalor with less than 8m in my village and but i started almost same house late last year and have spent 12m + the fence and sand filling the total is 14.5m and i dn't even tell people because the will never believe u but that is the honest truth.

According to him he have spent 4m already.
Balister and septic tank will cost =500k
Pop=500k to 600k
Electrical=1m
Toilet piping/fittings = 700k
Roofing 3m depending on the roofing sheet
Plastering = 300 to 400k because the parapet will also be plasted and it's charged differently.
Doors and frames :500k or above depending on choice.
Stainless hand rails maybe upto 150k to 200k
If good tiles are used and all rooms are suite then tiles,cement and labour could get to = 1.3m
Screeding/painting = 500k
Tank stand: 200k

*casement windows/burglary prove: 700k

If you add kitchen unit and wardrop it may cost another 300k to 500k


You did not complete a 5bedroom bungalor,what you did is not upto 40% out of 100% if it is going to be a standard bungalor.

This is all i can remember now,am sure other expensis will come up during construction.

Do not argue! The cost of building material is very high and may take more than that amount depending on the finishing.
My is four bedrooms and i have spent almost 12m and still need extra 1.5m before painting.

There is a big difference building a commercial house to rent out and building a personal house.

This is the main reason there are many uncompleted projects everywhere.
That amount can not complete the block work of a standard four bedroom bungalor,my four bedroom bungalor took upto 5000 blocks and the amount for rod is crazy.
From my expirence burget above 7m for the block work,don't be deceived.
You can start with that amount but do not hope to go far,maybe just foundation.
Attached is my ongoing project and i used over 5000 blocks for it.

I supervised this project myself and i have spent 11m but this is because i used the best of materials(expensive tiles,pop round the house,casement window,stainless rail,metro tile roofing sheet is also costly etc.
I think if less expensive materials are used you should get to this point with 6m to 9m.
The actual cost of the house is dependent on your choice of material.

My Ayuub did such a good and honest job. I never saw him, but he carried out an honest job with his staffs. Is glad to know that we still have honest Nigerians. I highly recommend him for your roofing project!

Secondly with regards roofing. I was given this quote for wood if I am roofing with metro tile

2bags each of 3inch and 4inch nail

for aluminum roofing sheets he quoted
25pieces of 3 by 4
130pieces of 2 by 4
130pieces of 2 by 3
250pieces of 2 by 2

please everyone I need your contribution. He could not tell me the estimate of the metro tile or aluminum since the wooden aspect have not been done. does anyone know the cost of metro tile/aluminum for a four bedroom bungalow. Thank you everyone.

That is the image of a similar project,total sqm is 501 and i bought 1 sqm at #2850 and labour 180 per sqm.
Atleast 200k - 250k should be able to get the other components you need.

The actual cost of roofing sheets is dependent on the total square metres of your house and also the material you chooses to use.
