Sanwo didn't win that election
That one na clear fact
Thousands of people were stopped from voting by APC and that created the room for them to rigged
It was that simple.

The thousands that were stopped where up to 400k

Hmm.

I think a large chunk in the state's APC do not want Aiyedatiwa.

Again, one wonders how come Agboola won the PDP ticket when other big names have kept the party until now.

I think mimiko supported him

Well, Obaseki knew his reasons but I know he will dominate that Edo South with Ogie! That's where I believe he is going to throw in everything!

I know obaseki is targeting that 4 Benin lgas but he forgot that it is a cosmopolitan area with most voters being settlers.it is difficult to get bloc votes or rig in urban areas.again, most voters there are now obidients as they voted Lp heavily during the assembly polls therefore, many will still vote Akpata dividing pdp votes.his victory there was because of the godfatherism fight and the efforts being put in by them ihama not because of his popularity or pdp own.apart from ikpoba okha where ogie is from,I don't see him doing massively
Politics / Re: Ihedioha: More Resignations Continue To Hit Imo PDP by garfield1: 7:54pm

Ihedioha has always been PDP at heart.
He is likely going for a Federal position if the rumour is true, Hope is already preparing his successor, and it's not Rt. Hon. Emeka.
If na you know? Everyone is not Buhari!

Listen, the Akoko-Edo choice is a tie-breaker.
These people get nothing, they celebrated Omobayo as if he were the Governor because they rarely benefit State or Federal from positions.

Picking a Deputy from Etsako will not stop Comrade from dominating that area.

Adjoto is Akoko-Edo but not too different from Shaibu.

Since Oga died, that place weak me jareh;

So you worked under aketi? No wonder you liked him...
The plan is not to win etsako but to reduce their votes like shuaibu did in 2020 polls.pdp is already strong in akoko so no need wasting time there.omobayo might even weaken pdp chances there.you cannot undermine strong loyallists for mere boys like bayo

The pulse of the State, he is the only force that can shake Hope!
For Imolites, anybody that can shake Hope is welcome.

Yes, he was tipped for Deputy-Governor but somehow one or two happened, so he had to leave.

It's all about power.

I don't see a cunning hope handing over to ihedioha except hope is not ambitious and doesn't want to control imo after his tenure.he rather hands over to Ohakim who has little political capital...besides, ihedioha might return to pdp...

Obaseki miscalculation is funny.why gain omobayo and lose a big fish like adjoto? It would have been better if he picked deputy from owan or etsako than pick from akoko and neglect a whole adjoto
Ajayi has won ondo pdp primary.akinjo really gave a good fight l.i was thinking ebiseni or mafo can fight better
Politics / Re: Breaking: Former Akeredolu’s Deputy, Agboola Wins Ondo PDP Guber Ticket by garfield1: 6:43pm
I predicted it correctly.i knew he had the best chance to win since he came second to jegede in 2020 esp with support from mimiko.i didn't know akinjo could beat ebiseni and John mafo

They are simply following him.i am just wondering how he managed to garner such following between 2011-2019 when udenwa, rochas, hope, araraume cannot boast of such.dogara, tambuwal who were speakers talk less of Ben kalu or lasun or wase.
I heard Kabiru adjoto has defected

Agulanna was a rogue that embezzled proda money with his elder brodas the DG for his political gains ,stolen money from govt without investment is rubbish that is why they all want power, once u steal government money u can't stop cos it sweet pass sugar

Ihedioha might be the next governor

He doesn't want to lose money.
He understands power of incumbency and challenging with a new party will be difficult.

I read his people also doesn't love him that way. That his last victory was because Rochas wanted to install his son-in-law as the next governor, so he was voted as alternative. That if Rochas had announced a different candidate, he wouldn't have had the chance

Very true.he actually lost to uche nwosu but rigged himself

Nothing to do with PDP, it's APC people fighting each other. EJ effectively wants to drop in to control Ikpoba Oha and seeing as he is rumoured not to even from there, the local exco are not happy about it.

I am going off the top of my head but I believe he too was in PDP, I might be wrong on that though.

Regardless, the point is this is nothing to do with PDP, same as the situation with Akpata.

True, agbonayinma is struggling for LG party leadership of Apc with hon osarobo idahosa. .

Like I was earlier saying, the speaker was present when the king of ozalla was being insulted by cabinet members which means it's a state policy
Politics / Edo Guber: My Opponents Are Baby Politicians- Okpebholo by garfield1: 9:07pm On Apr 24
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state for the September 21 election, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has described his contenders in other parties as baby politicians.

The baby politicians, who believe in speaking fine English, according to Okpebholo, the representative of Edo Central Senatorial District, included Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP’s) Dr. Asue Ighodalo, a Lagos-based lawyer, and Labour Party’s (LP’s) Olumide Akpata, a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

The governorship candidate of APC in a press statement on Wednesday, April 24, pledged a departure from Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration, promising heightened Federal Government involvement in strategic initiatives within Edo state if elected.

He said: “My running mate, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, a two-time representative of Ovia constituency of Edo State in the House of Representatives, and I, along with other party faithful, will be speaking with the people directly during the campaigns. We will address their concerns and leave no stone unturned.

“We will not lie to the Edo electorate or deceive them. Our word will be our bond. We will address their concerns and ensure that everyone is carried along. We will speak with our people directly, and give them reasons they should give us a chance to serve them. We have done it before. We will do it again.

“The good thing is that my running mate and I have contested and won elections before. We are currently members of the National Assembly. Those trying to challenge us are baby politicians who believe that speaking fine English will translate to victory. On election day, we will teach them a political lesson that they will not forget.”

Okpebholo also declared that no amount of intimidation or blackmail by his political opponents would stop him from campaigning and winning the crucial poll.

He said: “When we unveil our manifesto and our winning campaign team soon, we will hit the ground running.

“For us, this is a marathon, and we will win the race in the end. We are in this contest to win, and we will take over Edo State, by the grace of God.”

The standard bearer of APC in Edo also gave an assurance that he would succeed Obaseki on November 12 this year.

The Ọba (gha to kpere baba) absolutely has no interest in backing someone in the elections.

Obaseki was a disloyal subject, same as his ancestor, but he is not contesting and Asuẹn has distanced himself from him anyway.

The Ọba isn't going to take sides, I keep telling you, Edo South just did 8 years, why would The Ọba tacitly support another 8 years, granted Akpata is not an Edo South homeboy per se.

It is Esan's turn, Akpata is there to cash out.

The oba will not back someone openly but he can secretly have someone in mind na.even though it is zoned to Edo central,it is not illegal if a bini man wins afterall the akpata family is friendly with the royal family.
Back in 2016 the oba was skeptical about obaseki and he was proven right.if obaseki who is from Benin has no respect for royalty, his stooge who is not from Benin and who doesn't understand local culture will do worse
