To me, the most cost-efficient option would be to get 24 new jets, for 4 main bases, and a bit more drones. Drones are a lot cheaper to fly, especially on a daily and continuous basis, and can be well-equipped with surveillance stuff. On the contrary, flying a plane like MiG29 costs well over $5000 per hour (fuel, maintenance, replacement parts etc). |
What comes to my mind is the possibility of purchase of certain number of new or refurbished jets... F18, MiG29B or MiG29M, Su27 or such, along with armament, pilots training, consultancy etc. |
Little enlightment: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigerian_Air_Force Especially the first paragraph is important. Very small number of aircrafts is still airworthy, and that was the whole point of my first post in this thread. |
Check the numbers I stated, if you have a couple of them (probably MiG21 or F5), that is nice indeed, but hardly enough. btw, there are other (cheaper and most of the time more reliable) ways to to aerial surveillance and/or engage the targets. DANILSA: Come malam, u be Bokoharam CIA or M15? Why u wan know every. It was more a hypothetical question, I am not really interested in knowing the exact figures. |
Black Mamba: hey Mr,why do you want to know all these details? huh? which one u dey? U be BH member?LOL, chill out. I don't want to know, I do know instead. THe point is, there is no operational interceptors here. Nigeria has 910,768 sq km territory, 13,000 sq km territorial waters, and 4047 km of borders. For the country of this size, you need at least 4 to 6 pairs of aircrafts in the air at any given moment, plus at least 3 times that number on stand-by and under maintenance... Nigeria has many transport planes (C5 or C130), but I highly doubt it has any fighter jet that is fully operational and has enough supplies (spare parts, ammo etc). |
What jets are they planning to use for this purpose? How many OPERATIONAL fighter jets/interceptors do they have at hand? |
MikroTik has RADIUS server built in. |
1. Proper router (such is MikroTik, it can run on even older PCs, with 2 network cards) 2. Remote access and control software (such is RAdmin), so that you can remotely access their desktops and see what they are doing. Then you have to decide how to deal with offenders 3. Alternatively, KERIO CONTROl software, which is more flexible than MikroTik, but also much more costly |
If you believe that the God is in control of everything and you have his backing, why would you be afraid of anything, flying a plane included? |
It does. Saw a girl 10 years ago... then I was trying to meet her again for some 6 months, and in the end succeeded. Now, 10 years later, we are happily married and with 2 nice kids. |
Usually, hotels have to pay: 1. All sorts of PR to PHCN officials, in order to get more power and to use the generators less... 2. To pay the police for protection 3. To pay PR to all sorts of government officials in order to avoid problems etc etc etc. In Germany, for instance, any government official caught accepting gifts (not even talking of bribe) would not only lose the job but would also show up in court. Take, for instance, their now ex president. He was forced to resign after it has been discovered that his PhD project was, mostly, done by someone else etc etc etc. As for high prices abroad, you absolutely can't compare what you get for (for example) $300 in Lagos and what you get for the same amount in Europe, Middle East, East Asia or North America. |
Former deputy governor of Imo state used the (most expensive) presidential suite of Imo Concorde Hotel, Owerri, for well over 6 months straight, along with some 5 or 6 other rooms for her staff. And they did not pay a kobo for it. Cost? Some N18k for a double room, and about N70k for the presidential suite, per day. |

I wish my Nigerian friends are as busy with fixing this country as they are with bitching about those revealing all the bad stuff happening here. What is a bigger problem? 1. Ms Nelson revealing the laziness of the airport employee, or that airport employee himself? 2. A journalist photographing open sewage in a large city, blocked by garbage, or the people dumping the garbage there? etc etc etc. Don't hate the messenger, hate the message. |
Few things: 1. Microsoft.NET is not a programming language. .NET is a framework, which can be utilised by one of many programming languages such are VB.NET, C#.NET etc. 2. Domain registration data is, based on a WHOIS query, as follows: Registrant: bariansystems Abuja Abuja, FCT 234 Nigeria Registered through: GoDaddy.com, LLC (http://www.godaddy.com) Domain Name: NATIVEDGE.COM Created on: 14-Mar-12 Expires on: 14-Mar-13 Last Updated on: 19-Jun-12 Administrative Contact: Obaike, Daniel barisader@live.com bariansystems Abuja Abuja, FCT 234 Nigeria 2348069076873 Technical Contact: Obaike, Daniel barisader@live.com bariansystems Abuja Abuja, FCT 234 Nigeria 2348069076873 Domain servers in listed order: NS09.DOMAINCONTROL.COM NS10.DOMAINCONTROL.COM 3. More precisely, you don't need a web site name but the domain registered, and an account with e-mail option. Godaddy offers exactly that (package that includes domain registration, web hosting space, unlimited number of e-mail accounts, MySQL databases and many other nice things). |
What is the exact model number of this VAIO? |
People drown in water every day in this world. Water is the ingredient of all drinks, and some of these drinks are dangerius. Therefore, drinking of water should be banned ![]() |

You will be able to rightfully say power supply has improved if one day you realise you can't remember when was the last time NEPA went off... And when in the night you walk on the streets, without hearing brrrr brrrr brrrr generators ![]() |
1. In the subject line you say it has a 160GB SSD, while in the details it says 250GB HDD. WHich one is inside?! 2. What is the price? 3. Can you deliver in Abuja? |
More preciely, how much would it cost monthly to have 1024/256 kbit, unlimited, and shared max. 1/16? p.s. 2W on Ku band is VERY sensitive to rain. |
If you can deliver in Abuja (payment on delivery only!) VAIO series S or, preferred, series Z, let me know. |
A lot of whites, especially with little of no black population simply don't have an opinion on blacks. In areas with some or significant black population, there could be tensions. But those focusing their hatred towards a race and not a single person (that gave them trouble) are nothing but racist a$$holes. It does not matter if they are white, black... or even green. |
Please comment. Which one you think is correct and why? Michael vs. Micheal Israel vs. Isreal Billboard vs. Bill Board Dash Board vs. Dashboard etc. Feel free to add your examples as well. |
Certain European country I come from produces just under 9000MW in peak periods, but with the population some 20 times less than Nigerian. |
Garki area of Abuja, Friday to Saturday night, just after midnight... Light first went off, then came back after like 20 minutes. Shortly after it went off again, and like 2 seconds later a loud explosion was heard... Am I wrong or is it another transformer AGAIN?! |
You can't deport someone who has already left. |
I am happy Nigeria as a country has solved all its problems and can now focus on breastfeeding. |
With or without makeup, she is simply fugly. |
2 people make a couple. One man cannot be a couple, only a partner. Just my 2 cents. |
