@mods: pls help me with my Toyota Avalon 98 model. I noticed mild jerks frm gear 1 to 2 a while ago, it later graduated into having to rev the engine so high with little acceleration. A mechanic askd me to change d transmission oil frm the seahorse I was using before to Mobil dextron II which I did and d problem was over. After a month i noticed the gear was slow is responding to acceleration sometimes. The car also started overheating. Sometimes too, the car wudnt climb a hill, I usually change to D2 to move up any small height. But this problem comes n go! I attempted scanning the car, but was told that the brainbox has been changed by d dealer and so it can never be scanned (it uses a Sienna engine), that its only guesses that can solve the problem.
A mecho checked d transmission oil and said its not smelling burnt. Another one said its smelling burnt, am just confused.
Pls what do I do?

I also want to ask if it will work changing a manual trans to auto on the above mentioned car

It's possible, but weigh the cost of selling your current car, adding up money and buying the automatic Tranny version.

Conversion was poorly done. Heat from the engine bay area is getting into the cabin. A lot of leaks from cutting and welding not properly sealed.

Unfortunately I would not be able to help you with this job.

so quicky way but effiecent way is the best, reason dont take long doing a car becoz you would be loosing on cars waiting, here things work on time

I have done my alignment and wheel balancing three times within a month before it was dicovered that it was ball joint issue.

My Mechanic got one that was worked upon since he could not find its actual size. This had made things worst to the extent that the steering will be forcing itself to go leftward while driving.

Please I need help if there is any spare part in Abuja environ that has this part of Mitsubishi.

You need to stop self medication self diagnosis, get a qualified mechanic to look at your vehicle.

I had a lot of 1MZ and 3MZ engines in the office this week(highlander ,RX300) and most of them had 1 thing in common P1349 or a related VVTI code.

This is how I solved most of them, open up the filter for the OCV and have it replaced.

They usually get clogged with sludge and oil residue.

Accord 93 (bullet ) 2.3liter I4 manual tranmission

Problems

-Suspension kpom noises
-Vibration when clutch pedal is released
-Oil leaks from under engine
-slugish takeoff engine is really underpowered
-Vibration and sway to the right when brakes are depressed from speeds above 60km/hr
-Unburnt fuel fumes getting into the cabin area
-Oil leaks from valve cover
-Vibration on sharp acceleration

Culprits.

Clutchplate/disk
Cv joints(inner)
Balljoints
Brakedisks(rotors)
Brakepads
Valve cover seals
Timing marks reset
Leaking exhaust
Engine tune.

Sorry parts came in late, worked thru the night and couldn't take pics.

New headgasket reinstall every part back in reverse order and car started like it was never opened in the first place.

Will keep vehicle till Monday, to look out for oil leaks and shortage of coolant.

For now case closed.

Dear All,

I use a Honda Accord v6 2006 with 3.0 engine. Whenever I start the car recently, the engine tunes high than normal, VSA light pops, and when I put it on reverse it jerks making a loud noise from the front tyres, it then rolls but the engine doesn't respond to acceleration. Same when in Drive.

In the same vein, if I allow the car to steam for more than 5 minutes and I switch off the engine and restart it it normalizes. VSA light disappears and the car moves properly. After a long night pack in the morning it begins same symptoms.

What could be the problem?

Part 1 there might be nothing wrong with your car. Normally from cold start the engine will run at about 1.5k rpm until when ir warms up a bit (say 2mins) then rpm will come down to 650-700 rpm.

Part2. You have a leak in your system. (Gas can be in a car for 10years without re charging) that's why when you charge the system it solves the problem momentarily.

Hello all, I need expert advice.

I just noticed this very recently. Sometimes when I step on the accelerator I feel resistance from the pedal, the car keeps moving but at it's own pace.
It's like the pedal is stuck and I can't get it down even with a little applied force. It happens for 10mins or less and then it frees up. I haven't noted any cause, it happens very randomly.

Please any ideas in case it's a warning sign of some more serious problem or should I ignore it?

Sorry I'm not in Lagos. They rewire has confirmed that the problem normaly shuts off the plug spark and injector as long as the hard starting last and all these restored when the car starts. We have changed the water temperature sensor also. Can ECU(Brian box) or the cold start valve be the cause of this cold hard starting?

Problem 1 is you use a "REWIRE"

Based on your query the problem is either the pressure release valve or the coolant temp sensor. A scan will rule out the coolant temp sensor, a pressure diagnosis will rule out the pressure valve. For clarity the pics are below.

Please has anybody experienced this problem before.
My Toyota Camry won't start one touch when cold.
The more I left my car packed without starting the more it gets difficult to start the very next time you would want to start it.
I have replaced the fuel pump and cold start sensor but the problem is still there. Please if you have experienced this before kindly let me know what you did to resolve the problem.

Check fuelpresure release valve and coolant temp sensor.
