Kia Cerato 2007
Vehicle also had a history of a/c problems and in the course of taking down the compressor we spotted some oil in the compressor pressure lines, checked with the leak detectors and confirmed with another detector and it seems to be the source of the primary leak. Will continue checks after I'm done with bringing down the engine.

Take down intake manifold, remove serpentine belt (remember how it was b4 you removed it) take out alternator, take out starter motor, unbolt a/c compressor but do not remove the pressure lines.

Take radiator down and strip engine of its harness, a drain tap is not provided for this radiator so it could be a bit messy.

Vehicle had a history of sever overheating prior to this.

shedyman: Thanks all. I guess I will have no choice but to change them then. I was reluctant in changing it when my mechanic said signs of a bad ignition coil were not evident in the car, this is after he physically inspected each of the coils and found them to be good. Thanks anyway, I will make moves towards changing it.
Do you think it might be one of the ignition coil that is bad? Can scanning detect the exact one? Thanks Come for free diagnosis if in lagos. Expires sat 5th Sept 2015 |

austech200: Please, I need expert advice on a Honda Accord (BabyBoy) 2002 model which I bought in MAY this year. But since I bought the car, I have serviced it once after to experience shortage of engine oil. I usually use Mobil super 1000 XHP for my car service and I hardly travel out of my town in Portharcourt
Please, I want to know if it is the car engine that is faulty or that the engine oil is not compatible with my car because my mechanic advised me to change it to AP Visco2000. I did just that but the problem still persists.
Thanks Austin austech.nwekoyo@gmail.com If there are no oil leaks, get a new engine (toks) start afresh but this time lubricate with 5W30 every 6k miles. |

Car Talk › Re: Please Recommend A Good Toyota AC Technician by GAZZUZZ(m): 10:08am On Sep 02, 2015 |
Coldplay007: Gazzuzz! If you can help fix that AC, you got yourself a loyal customer in me forever... Once your OEM AC compressor spoils, you are in trouble. I don't believe any Naija AC technician is competent. Once they change your OEM compressor/condenser You either keep replacing compressors every three to six months or you keep re filling gas every 2-4 months... All the parts of an A/C can be gotten OEM, might not be brandnew, but will work effectively. I recently restored a camry 2008 back to its factory ac settings, (compressor,condenser,a/C pipes, expansion valve) it was quite pricey, but owner got his monies worth. Had to replace the compressor 2wice before delivering the vehicle. Most times the problem is with fitting wrong parts or faulty parts, other times the a.c system is very dirty and damages the compressor/ blocks the expansion valve. Finally there's the problem of leaking parts, and I have my leak detectors to take care of that. |

EHITZ: My toyota Avensis 2000 drags a bit when I am rolling freely without acceleration. Though the drag is not so obvious, you will only notice if you are used to the way the can runs, It never used to hesitate. I have bought 2 different injector cleaners and still no improvement. what is actually the purpose of injector cleaners? could this engine hisistation have resulted when I was on reserve and almost ran dry on fuel? Could it be the fuel pump?
There is also a repeated clicking sound I hear in my engine when I start the car. And the mechanic thinks its the power steering engine. What could be the cause? You need more of diagnostics on your vehicle. 08023251039. |
