Good morning all, I recently moved to Lagos for a new job, having been here for a year I am planning on going back to Abuja for Easter, not really a fan of public buses and due to the surge in traveling Flight rates are astronomical for me and my fiancé, so driving would be my surest, most convenient and cheapest alternative. I have gone through previous travel threads but they all seem dated so I’m looking for an update.
I plan on leaving Thursday morning 5am, Im driving 2012 Honda Accord coupe. My questions would be:
1. First time driving such long distance, is it advisable? I’m not such a tough chap but I’m sure I can manage
2. How safe is the trip? With the kidnapping trend going on.
3. How much would it cost me to fuel? Car is a 4 cylinder without a cat(catalytic converter)
4. How rough will it be on the car? Car is less than 5months old, wouldn’t want to rough it up just yet
5. How accurate is google maps? It estimates 12hrs through Ibadan and 14hrs through illorin.
Aside from the above any other advice or assistance would be welcomed.

I have a 2005 Camry..... I can’t use the aircon while on the highway because the temperature will rise above normal level, and the gear selection will be slow till I accelerate more than usual.... my mechanic told me it might be as a result of damaged catalyst, which will result to cutting it open and confirming that.... so I want to ask you sir, if catalyst might be the cause and if it is, can this device help in this situation?....

I don't think that Hilux is a cast iron block. Except if his Hilux is the Y series make of engine, with an iron block (old model).

2008 is modern, and has engine block and cylinder head, made of aluminum.

I tried buying the advertised from Gazzuz this evening but when he saw the fault codes he promptly told me that it won't solve my problems and refunded the money I had transferred.
He asked that I post the scan result here for explanation. So here I am to see how I can be helped by the guru himself.

Oga Gazzuz, please permit my naivety please. Does the sensor spacer replace the Catalytic converter's primary function (emission control)? Also if the Catalyst is bad and has been removed and then O2 sensor spacer alone is installed, would the space (in the pot. Especially the one under) not cause a loud engine sound ?

Considering the spacer for my 2003 Highlander.

I got a truck like 3months ago for my business .
It was a used truck.
Have been using it for long hauls since,but I noticed something.Oil problems.
That thing drinks oil like crazy,but it doesnt smoke.
After coming back from calabar today to PH,the thing kaput after climbing a hill.
It still starts but the sound is awful,clanking noises from the engine.
So I am thinking,what could be the problem?
Is the engine dead?
Do i rebuild it?how solid is it gonna be after rebuilding it?
Is it a good thing to do with a hilux?
Mehn ,i cant wait to start buying brand new cars,nonsense!!

It will be better to sell off the engine and get a new replacement. That's the solution..if you repair it won't last and it will exhaust your money..

Gazzuzz, my '99 CRV goes off in motion and sometimes becomes hard to start after using it for a while(when system is hot). What could be the possible cause? Thanks

Most times you did a job on the engine which resulted in removing your coolant and filling the cooling system again can cause this. especially for V6 engines if the cooling system has air traps in the block this can happen so please first open the radiator and leave the car on for some minutes, fill the radiator, when the thermostat opens the level of the radiator will drop chase it with water and keep revving the car to about 2rpm. until you see no bubbles from the radiator. then try to drive and repeat it till the block is full this should solve the issue. if not then according to GAZZUZZ radiator is restricted

Chiefs, I noticed I would need to start my Pontiac torrent jeep twice nowadays before it come on. mostly, when I leave it unused for hours/days but this only happen during the first encounter, every other encounter during that day, the car doesn't have issue starting it.
