[/color] Please My Honda Accord (EOD) 2003 always goes off after starting, My Mechanic said i need to change the Governor with cable. I want to be sure that is the cause of the problem. And what really is the function of the Governor because i cant seem to find it over the internet. Thank you
First picture is the throttle body.
2nd pic is the Idle air control valve .
If the idle air control is salvageable he should service it and try again if not replace the in. Pls note that because of the age of the car , the replacement part will most likely need servicing too as it would be stiff due to long time without use.
The IACV videos in the link below will guide you into understanding how it works.
Activity77: My camry 2008 v4 cranks but won't start on first start in the morning but when tried for the second time it starts perfectly for the day and this only happens in the morning.. I was told it was coolant sensor which I changed though second hand which I don't trust but still the issue persists... Please help
Kingdemmu: 2021 will be bad for majority of the people in southern Nigeria. I smell an unprecedented level of hunger if they don't pacify the northerners. From dealers of perishables to now cattle dealers. If dealers of grains should also embark on strike hunger go kill some people soon.
Lagos port is still very active, land borders are open.
Kingdemmu: I can see my fellow clergy have already done the needful. We still invoke the spirit of Baba40 and our resident car blogger cum Lexus sales expert to not guide us today. Ameen ya Allah
This happens after the car has sat for a while. The car will start well, drive well. Then after 3 or 4 minutes, the engine starts jerking.
It will return to normal after a minute. Then this won't happen again.
When I leave work in the afternoon or evening, it will repeat again after I have driven for 3 or 4 minutes and stop after a minute. Won't happen again and car will drive well afterwards.
Mechs here are very confused and I have rightly not allowed them tamper with anything.
sadly cases like this turn out to be very easy. Let's wait for your scan tool.
If I start in the morning, it starts well immediately. No issues. Then I allow it to idle for like 30 seconds before I drive off.
It would drive well and all.
Then after driving for like 2 minutes, engine would start jerking and making some pulsing sound. If I open the bonnet, I will see the engine jerking seriously.
If I park and disengage the gear, the jerking will continue and RPM will hover slightly above 1. The car’s normal idle RPM is usually around 0.8 (or 800). If I reengage the gear while this is ongoing, the engine would go off.
If I restart it, it will start and the issues will continue. And if I match the gas, it would respond accordingly. But once I remove my leg from the gas pedal, RPM will rest above 1 and the jerking will continue until everything normalizes
This whole episode will last for a minute.
And after that, everything will return to normal again and car will drive well, with no issues again.
I have changed the spark plugs, and cleaned injectors. But this problem persists.
Please, what could be the issue?
P.S. I live in the East. The mechanics here don’t use scanner. So, I cannot run a scan for now. I have ordered a scanner from Lagos which should arrive soon. But before then, I just need to know what I can do to stop this issue.
DdenslordD: I If the code came up jist after you changed the shaft my next question is what side of the shaft ? If it is the passengers side the mechanics must have hit the crankshaft sensor while fixing it please go under the car on thay side and check on the crankshaft sensor. Another common cause is a bad OCV 0016 should be on the exhaust side which is back of the engine please remove ans test with a battery if it is working then it means your engine oil is too heavy for the car change it to a synthetic 5W-20 oil.tnks
Please i take God beg you, stop commenting on this thread, open a thread and do your free consultation there.
First of all the crank sensor is no where close to the CV axle and even if it was hammered, it will not throw a correlation code.
Also the exhaust side of a 2az engine is not at the back but in front .
Finally No 2az owner in Nigeria has any reason to pour 5w20 engine oil into his vehicle . (Massive Oil burn)
