freshvine: Majority of us wonder why imported used Japanese cars are exorbitant and inordinately expensive and this quagmire instilled the passion to conduct a research to unravel this situation.
I have read repeatedly on this forum and other fora where contributors argued that the high demand of this Japanese technology is what drives it cost as it corresponds to the law of demand and supply but somehow they're right but not entirely so. Anytime a car of today, Lexus, Honda came up for auction, you see Nigerian dealers diving the brand like a dog on a heat. They try to outdo themselves and before you know it the price of the particular car skyrockets. Here 5 to 10 Nigerian car dealers competing to outdo each other like a bazzar promotion and by the time it gets to Nigeria, we bear the brunt of their insensitivity. They hardly bid for the American cars and other renown brands but Toyota gives them hard ons.
My post may not proffer or address the issue but let it be known that we're architect of our collective misgiving and not neccesarily demand and supply in the larger context hitting the prices of Japanese cars to the rooftops.
I took my survey to popular car auction sites and discovered it's only Nigeria car dealers that make these cars expensive particularly the Toyota brands. If you have ever owned a recently produced ford, or Chrysler , or Mazda , you will understand better. |

Inception: Oga what are u even saying? First of all, let us not shift the goal post. In your earlier post, you mentioned a 2008 Toyota camry now you are mentioning a Lexus ES350.
The camry 4 cylinder does not have a magnetic clutch. The Lexus compressor has. It is in the event of a compressor lock up that the pulley of the Camry's 2AZ compressor shears off and becomes freewheeling to avoid drive belt damage.
That of the Lexus is a bit more complicated in that the lock sensor instructs the AC amplifier to disengage the magnetic clutch.
And in this diagnosis here, we are talking of an obvious compressor failure! ( after checking all the trouble areas you have identified there)
Now to the justification of using a relay, remember that I earlier said that it is the solenoid that is connected to the ac amplifier DIRECTLY. ,this is to first of all fool the amplifier that all is well with the compressor circuit. The relay ( connected to the solenoid also) only acts as a switch to get current from the battery( or alternator) to power the magnetic clutch. My argument here is that though this is workable, it is not optimal for the engine management system.
The 'practical and English' here is simply the huge cost difference between the OEM VDC compressor and the FDC ( far cheaper) compressor
Gazzuzz why you dey run from this matter? winter is here...

sacramento1212: Oh! Okay.
I'm only even approximating as i don't even know what else might be replaced inside. Only added estimated cost of transmission fluid plus may be minor expense. Takes 12 or less hours to replace your engine with a low mileage one, might take over 40hrs to fix the old one.
Less labour to replace, more labour to repair. |
Autos › Re: "GPS Spoofing By OPAY Riders: My Experience" by GAZZUZZ(op): 6:40am On Oct 06, 2019 |
mychelyte: Let me tell you their secret! It's the riders that are extorting customers, this is what they do; Once you order a ride, immediately he spoke with you on phone to ask of your location, he will immediately clicked that he had reached the pickup location and passenger picked,of which he may be far from you sef,so they will be calculating duration and distance from the moment he clicked passenger picked up, till he reach you then take you to your destination. They do that so that their own share of the money they charged you will be high..because they are already calculating your charges from the moment he said passenger picked up.
Anytime you order for a ride and the app notify you just immediately after the rider called you but he has not gotten to where you are, call the customer care/service and ask them to cancel the order for you! Then you can place another order.
That's what they do. This theory makes no sense. Unless trip is started you will not be billed.
