I think we should be very careful with the way we paste or responds to comment on this forum. I realized some yahoo boys has been bombarding this forum with fake and scams messages, stating they have a car on hire purchase or rentals and at the end of the day, they will be demanding upfront payment from driver.

I would like to warn the new drivers coming into this forum or e-hailing business to be patient and be very careful with the way they are eager to drive on the platform and the way they negotiate with partners. Any driver that would like to get a car on hire purchase should try to get advice from his lawyer or from an old uber driver before signing any documents.

So drivers be wise.

Who owns those cars at the end? Uber or me

Those very queer Uber riders dem...someone has actually ordered me before because he wanted me to buy Bread and Butter for him cos it was very late and he was in an estate and maybe him and babe don quaff finish and hunger dey hammer am..after grudgingly doing it cos he really begged and I was trying to avoid cancelling cos my rate was very high the dumb guy still made sure he collected 200 change from 1k he gave me and I was like sebi u see maga today...

Honestly the biz is saturated. Really not a good time to invest for intending investors. When last did you see a driver advertising that he needs a car to drive on this thread. Car owners are now begging for drivers.

Until uber/taxify implore means of increasing rider base. Just save your money and don't lose that job.

The fleet managers so far I’ve not committed any fraud or scam albeit little communication gaps and misunderstanding.
We should cut them some slacks and offer suggestions on how they can navigate the terrain.
We shouldn’t put them down, because I am so proud when I see Nigerians trying to make legitimate income.

It’s an added advantage that they are also Uber drivers. No need to go so hard on them, they strike me as committed hustlers.
And they are good friends to Gazzuzz also which makes repairs more easier and straightforward for them.

We also need to appreciate the wealth of knowledge and information they share here on a daily basis.
Please guys there are Nigerian investors looking here to invest, and it’s not good if we chase them away with all the undue bad reps we give Ogunvic and Romeo.

Planning to do a complete transmission fluid and engine oil overhaul.

Was wondering if this is safe and if there are any other things I need to note.

You didn't specify the 'if' conditions as to why a transmission and engine oil replacement would be potentially hazardous.


Also, car manual recommends 'honda' branded fluid for both transmission and engine block. With a note on third parties not being recommended.

Is this a warning I should heed to considering the fact that those might be hard to find. I live in Abuja btw, if you know where I can get the recommended honda fluids, pray tell.

Sorry for being a bother... First car. Don't want to make too many mistakes.

Yea 5000km... This grammar and numbers i sabi, once my car shows MAINTANCE REQUIRED, the next day i change the oil and oil filter to the recommended spec. Then record my ODO... Its usually between 4500-5000 km+ before i see another maintenance required...

your car is calibrated in miles.

Total has two products of 5w30 but I have not seen this product in total filling stations before.

Zero Naira. It was bought Tokunbo. The driver did the change of oil from his pocket last month out of appreciation.

This E-hailing business is being flooded. More than 20 cars have been announced to drivers for the past one week on this platform. The same thing at the other platform I belong to. Visit uber/taxify office, and you will see crowd. Soon drivers will outnumbered the available riders on the platforms. I pity new drivers coz its only experienced drivers that can scale through this hurdles.

first request was @ akilo near latter rain. I drove to location, called rider and low and behold it was the boi of my spare part supplier , he was surprised he said "ah Oga you too de drive uber" I said yes o! I now asked him you to de enter uber? That's when he did the math for me.

4 of them were going on a 5km trip, it would cost them between 400-700naira. It was rush hour, keke was scarce, bikes were unavailable. Keke would charge 1k drop @ this time, but uber with my ac and DVD charged N635 for the trip.

What is happening in lagos is a revolutionary, people are taking advantage of E-hailing business, more riders are coming on board people are getting smarter.

Let me give you a final example.

On Sunday I got a request from around charlie boi bustop area, I called rider and asked the usual where u de go? the guy said babcok university please sir can you go? I went to location, carried 4bois and filled up my boot with all their luggage, o traffic, 78km trip. I knew it would not be profitable since there would be no rides back, but we'll I was done for the day, and I wanted to do the long trip any way.

End of trip 5460 naira.

Lagosians have realised that it is cheaper and safer in most cases to use UBER (not taxify) for trips when paired than go with conventional public transport.

The market is growing, there will be space for every one.

some time I get angry when I see a crowd people at the Base of ikeja bridge waiting for 1 rickety Dando bus or keke napep to take them to ogba. If 4 of them join forces, @ 150naira it would be enough to take them to ogba with a.c and good music.

With time and more awareness, uber drivers will be busy round the clock.

Sir, I have two problems with my car. Whenever I park it for like 2 hrs, the engine starts but goes off immediately. But at the second attempt, it starts and continues to work well. I cleaned the injector some weeks back. Some times, d engine shakes like its got a misfiring plug.
Secondly, I filled up my fuel tank some time ago and started filling up, the fuel started pouring from under the car until it got to a certain level, then it stopped.since then, fuel smells in my car whenever I buy fuel in d tank, even though it's not full tank.
