Change of Engine and transmission(Car currently has a 10 pin instead of a 13 pin), body work and suspension.

goodieuzo:
oga gazuzz,do you go with somebody for a car inspection before purchase?

ThaSlimKidd:
Does the personal reasons have anything to do with the civic being problematic or being too low to the ground? A friend adviced it's a good car to get as I'm still getting comfortable with driving and for a first car , it's mostly problem free n won't give me headaches.
the 07 accord popularly called Discussion Continues? is it plagued with the leg pull as lower models? and is it better to maintain than the civic . Sentiments or personal reasons asides ?

Thanks once again for the professional insights

ThaSlimKidd:

Good evening house.
Please I need someone to respond to this question.
If you use 2009 Toyota Camry for uber or taxify and your take home per day after fuel, toll fare and feeding is an average of #3000 for an average trip of 7 per day, can we say this rider partner is doing well. If not, how can he improve ?

sisqology:
I understand boss. But Kazeem was saying Gear box damaged. Does it mean he is trying to dupe me and we should change the transmission fluid first??

sisqology:
The fluid? Or the box itself? Is 10pin advisable please?

sisqology:
Gazzuzz please what could be the cause of this on Toyota camry 2007? I think I have seen it very common. Does this mean this model gets gear problems easily?

My Toyota camry 2007 showed me no signs, I was coming at night and it stopped accelerating, it was toggling its acceleration until I got to my destination. I checked and nothing was wrong, no oil shortage nothing. on leaving the place back home, it got to the middle of the street and never accelerated again. Now my mechanic has called his gear specialist to check and they are saying I need a replacement. Just like that??

And here is the issue again, telling me to convert to 10pin and that its better bla bla bla. What do you advice?

jayjayjay:
Thank you Oga Gazzuzz. Point well taken.

Please what car will you recommend within the 800k to 1million price range if am getting a Nigerian used.

This is solved. After spending more than two weeks with the first mechanic, he still couldn't fix it. I decided to relax and try again after a while.

Last week I was introduced to another mechanic and I told him the history of repair attempts. He said he would not charge a dime before service, but that when it's fixed, he would give me the bill. His confidence surprised me.

I dropped it, picked it up the next day, and the noise was gone. In less than 24 hours this guy fixed what I spent the better part of a month trying to fix with another.

It turns out the issue was indeed the camshaft. But instead of replacing just the one in the front bank (the previous mechanic strongly insisted that only that one needs to be changed even when I suggested he changed both) the new mechanic worked on both engine banks.

And that was it. My lesson, and advice to everyone, if a mechanic tries for a couple of days and can't fix your issue, find another mechanic.

Thanks Gazz.uzz for your help!

Give it a few days and a long drive

Hello Gazzuzz,

I am trying to get another car and I have narrowed down my preference to a 2007 - 2010 merc benz ML350 OR a 2010 Lexus RX350.

Can you please provide some feedback which in terms of comfort, luxury, durability and maintenance you would advise I go for?

Would really appreciate your feedback.

PS: I have a friend that used an old c class and he complained that benz usually have parts that expire as he had an issue with is tank at that time...Does this 'expire' attribute of benz still continue with the MLs?

Best regards,
