Why abortion?! WHY?! Why waste life?!

Whatever happened to giving the children up for adoption? There are people and institutions that would gladly accept the responsibility of raising the children.

@OP, please suggest to her. Every human being, no matter how small, IS PRECIOUS!

Politics / Re: SSANU: FG Betrayed Our Trust On IPPIS by gbajike(m): 11:29am On May 01, 2020
TopeQs:

Let me paint a scenario for you, most federal Universities has a part time lecturer that has a full time job in another university, this is not bad but look at the case of some lecturers that go for part time lectures in as much as 3-4 other institutions, this way they are even making 3-4 people jobless because that could have been a job for fresh graduates.

I believe the IPPIS is meant to cover just one more visiting apart from your salary, ASUU will never tell you this but I will, those lecturers that have 2-3 part-time lecturing job will not want IPPIS because it will block the salary of the part-time job.
I can tell you that I know of a lecturer that has 4 part time lecturing job in another federal university, please, how will such a person have time for his own full time job, he will be joggling within states just to meet the other while not being able to put a focus on any of them, I was taught by one of them and he never had our time, then we run marathon class so as to cover up for his absenteeism.

Permit me to say that your line of arguement is both weak and shallow!

How many lecturers are in Nigeria? How many of them do you know?

How many (of the minute number of lecturers you know) are actually involved in what you allege? What's the percentage? Do you know the stats?! Do you have proof?!‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️

And yet you MISLEAD countless readers not because you have investigated or done any research to buttress your claims, but just because of a conversation with how many lecturers 1, 2, 5, 10, 50?!!!!

YOUR ENTIRE ARGUMENT IS ENTIRELY MISLEADING!

You sure can make any comment you want but PLEASE do your homework before you do so!

I blame ASUU for not doing enough (esp on SM) to intimate the public about their plight and their struggle!

Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by gbajike(m): 10:40pm On Sep 17, 2017
Hello @all and good evening. I must commend this thread/forum, esp those who selflessly take the time to answer questions from the wealth of their experiences. Kudos to all the pros in the house. Thanks once again and God bless.

I have some questions to ask. I have an IV to visit my uncle in Florida for Thanksgiving in November. I'm a first timer (32). Work: Clergy. Married with a kid. I intend travelling with my baby (17 months). My wife wnt be able to come along cuz of her job.

1. If I apply now, will I be able to get an appointment on time for the journey? Or do I use an agent? Can they really help to get a quick appointment?

2. Can I endorse my baby on my passport?

3. It was suggested that going to Atlanta and taking a road trip to Florida is cheaper. Does that make sense? Can that argument be defended when interviewed?

4. Do I lap my baby or put her in a seat for the flight? How do these options affect the cost of travel? Do i need to take a car seat along?

5. What are the likely questions i'll be asked considering the fact that i will be travelling without my wife and with my baby?

6. What are the basic/required documents i should take for the interview?

7. What airline(s) do you recommend for that route?

Thanks for your kind assistance.
Politics / Re: Senate Passes Motion Abolishing N702 Fixed Electricity Charges and Others by gbajike(m): 11:27am On Aug 12, 2015
It's already been implemented! It's more a case of citizens equipped with this information ENFORCING their rights.
Politics / Senate Passes Motion Abolishing N702 Fixed Electricity Charges and Others by gbajike(m): 11:19am On Aug 12, 2015
The Senate has asked the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to immediately enforce the abolishment of N702 fixed charges being collected from electricity consumers across the nation.

The Senate also directed Discos to discontinue the practice of compulsory bulk metering of villages and communities in the rural areas, while consumers should have the right to be part of bulk metering scheme or not.

The senators also unanimously directed Discos to discontinue the practice of making consumers pay for meters, poles and transformers, which by law, were their properties.

They, however, clarified that where the consumers had purchased those items, they should give notice of the purchase to the Discos, and should be entitled to recover their expenses from subsequent consumption of electricity.

Phones / Re: NCC To Sanction Operators For Unsolicited SMS, Voice Calls by gbajike(m): 12:54pm On Mar 19, 2015
"Director, Public Affairs of NCC, Mr. Tony Ojobo, who also shared the pains of subscribers over unsolicited messages and voice calls, called on subscribers to challenge the operators by calling them to stop such broadcast, each time they received unsolicited text messages and voice calls"

I had to read this statement again and again. Its such an incredible reaction from an official-if not laughable! It raises a lot of questions. Does NCC really think these operators will respond to any complaint I make? Or has NCC forgotten they wield the power to sanction? Why dump that responsibility on the customer who is not empowered? Or is NCC afraid to ACT?!

Ok. My very first comment!
Great write up Kay! Your pen....true art!
Howeva I feel Ahmed shouldn't have died so easily,or at least he should have been given a gallant death, not the fearful character we saw. There seems to be this inconsistency in his character. First introduction as the baddest cop around - bulging biceps, black top, the menacing anger at the death of his friend (the undacova agent) and later his dog - remember? Where did all that go? Instead we see him yelping like a pup in d face of death. No bravado,no tough talk, no nofin.
And besides, even if the corporation was way above his league, we assume he was trained by his uncle for three years.
We notice the progression in the characters of Eva and Sean, their skill and brutality. But that of Ahmed seems a little bit truncated. Just my tots. But then, a great job.
And for the record...I really don't mind the short breaks you take every now and then. I can fully relate with how difficult it is to consistently keep the game up...and then with a job?!!
My advice? Take your time. End this story well. It deserves to be a masterpiece! Any hot blooded person can go ask Michaelangelo or Da Vinci how long it took to create theirs!
