Afroconnect: Stop blaming the Op for pointing out a ossibility,we all need to urge the president to act or allow a better candidate take charge.Thank you!!! The idiot cannot appreciate that Nigerians are dying and the nation drawing closer to becoming Somalia while him and his ethnocentric co-travellers remain devoted to a leader the entire world, and not Gbawe alone, has proclaimed to be seriously incompetent and hopelessly out of his debt. This is why I have no time or patience for his kind. They are dangerous with how they would rather see Nigeria burn, clannishly backing a failed 'brother', than support what is right for millions. |
aguiyi: you are suffering from dementia hence your inability to make arguments without insulting forum members.Mumu, I am well aware of your antecedence of bigotry and clannishness here so I make no apologies for being rude to you or assuming you an ethnocentric devotee of GEJ. I have nil eegard for your kind so kindly stay out of my way and you won't have a problem. By the way it is you and your fellow hateful co-travellers in malevolent indoctrination who are the produts of poor parenting. |
tonytony208: why do u pple always want to fight, argue and abuse any time you read anything that LOOKS LIKE criticism to gej govt? You don't care if ur argument is sensible or not; you sha want to defend gej even if defending him makes you sound stupid.Don't bother with that bigot. Everything begins and end for him with the blind defence of GEJ who is now universally deemed inept and incompetent over the handling of Boko Haram. If Nigeria were a nation of people who think corretcly and prioritise appropriately then this failed Government would have been booted out long ago because the lives and security of Nigerians is far more valuable than to be sacrificed at the alter of bigotry and ethno-religious bias. The truth no honest person will deny is that GEJ is far, far out of his debt leading Nigeria in this very trying time. |
aguiyi: the energy with which you propagate boko haram issues is enough for you to get a life and be a meaningful citizens.M0r0n. You think I am an ethnocentric and sentimental waste of space like you who will blind himself to the obvious and is always prepared to lie to himself and others because of ethnic prejuidce and affiliation? I don't sugarcoat issues. I deal with reality. The reality being that this government, so far, has shown it is out of its debt and incapable of dealing with the menace of Boko Haram. It is ethnocentric bigots and emotionally immature folks like you who are the major problem with how you praise mediocrity and urge the rest of us to abide with it when, in serious Nation, issues will simply be about removing highly corrupt, failed and incapable hands and replacing such with leadership that can deliver results. Abeg go and find an Igbo supremacy/Ojukwu/Biafra or "Chibok kidnapping is a scam" thread to rant on and stop disturbing a concerned Nigerian complaining, as the entire world does on our behalf also, against glaringly inept leadership costing innocent Nigerian lives and worsening an already grave situation with mindless corruption and self-serving indolence. |
mandozhero: Boko Haram from their youtube display now has sophisticated weapons that even scare Nigerian Military. The way they got those weapons (e.g: APC, RPG, GPMG, assault rifles, etc) is the way they will soon get aircraft to fight Nigeria.@OP With our mix of hideously corruptly institutions and a totally inept and 'compromised' federal government, Boko Haram can really become a nightmare it has no business transforming into if Nigeria is even a half serious Nation. It is important for Nigerians to understand that terror groups do not conform to anyone's rules but their own. They will become whatever distracted and unserious political leadership allow them to be. History gives us many example of this. |
bamosagie: He is a member of the cult, he is performing his duty to shekauKeep insulting the OP instead of growing up, taking adult responsibility for your future and discerning what truly matters. What has the OP said that is incorrect? Under GEJ we have a 'disinterested' and weak Government capable of letting Boko Haram become whatever the terror group aspires to. When a well-sponsored terror group begin 'claiming' territory inside a sovereign nation then anything can happen. Call the OP whatever you want. It is clear you prefer to think and talk like a child while the OP is just an adult dealing with the reality of how things are changing for Nigeria. |
mogentle: PDP governors are feeling reluctant to admit a clean man 'cos they are dirty. If they are not comfortable with Ribadu 'cos he's not a thief, then who says PDP is a party that will take Nigeria to the next level. Bunch of looting cultists, I pity Ribadu.Bro forget that. No one can place a time span on how long it will take a ruling political Party to get a Nation to the "next level" but we know it certainly is not 15 years. Nowhere near. With the PDP, they have led cluelessly for 15 years and things look even more bleak and more hopeless than ever. There is no hope for Nigeria while the ultra-corrupt, gradualist and reactionary PDP leads at the centre. 15 long, hard years is enough to convince any sane person of this. |
I wish Omisore 'Goodluck' in Court. |
NewNigeriaMind: Let it be known Lagos cant wait to join oil producing states.Indeed. |
HandOfChukwu: I'm not impressedWho cares? Are the good people of Ogun State living to 'impress' non-citizens who are determined not to be impressed? Bro, you have one life. Live and let live. Learn to stay away, even if you are "not impressed", when others jubilate what amounts to positive development and a step in the right direction for them. |
omoajiri: I lived in Lagos and it was my tertiary education that took me to Ogun state. I gained admission into Olabisi Onabanjo university and for 8 consecutive years the then Gov. OGD couldnt conduct just 1 convocation due to the debts just that school owes talkless of the whole state.Man mi, you tell the undiluted truth as obtains on the ground. I come from a big and highly dispersed traditional Ogun State family with many members in the UK. A lot of my older relatives and Uncles who have done well in the UK professionally ,heading back home, are shunning Lagos to be based in Ogun State even as many of them were Lagosian with Ogun State origin when they left Nigeria. All of them consistently argue that Ogun State is the next big thing given the way Amosun is leading the State. No-brainer really. Proximity to Lagos, tonnes of opportunity, much cheaper real estate, lower operational business cost and , the icing on the cake, an administrator doing the hard work to make Ogun State attain its potentials. The diasporans are the hardest to convince because they are cynical, ultra-careful and pragmatic. If they have bought into what Amosun is doing then that tells a lot. |
9icest: From Bariga, to Shomolu, to Ikorodu, to Yaba, to Surulere, Ikeja, Okota, Ayobo, Egbeda, Meran, even for my small corner here for Ajegunle Bus-Stop for Agbado Ijaiye, Baba Fash is busy fixing the roads, distributing transformers, building schools, providing health care, good security, catching those useless kidnappers from the where they are always from, even fixing federal roads, supporting market women by providing skills and training for them: my momsy just learnt tailoring, and she's from even from Yoruba but an Edo mama. Fashola is a true leader, and I wonder why some bunch of people find so much joy is smearing his name, and making him look incompetent. Well, such is life. For us in the SW, we choose development, and not petty and unbenefiting prolitics. Eko Oni Baje O!Abi OOO. Mama Basirat sef dey ready to dash 'okunrin meta' Fashola any one (or even two or three sef) of her fine daughters any time any day. Fash the man. Haters do what you have to do. |
Is anyone surprised Fashola makes this list? Anywhere else but ultra-divided Nigeria and this man would be a national legend. Anyway, I am glad Fashola's good name has gone global. The man deserves it. |
Rawlings120: I Love his display of political maturity.Nothing unexpected in what Tinubu has done because the man is a broad-minded and intelligent realist who works with what is on the ground unlike many others who are perpetually vengeful and hateful. Ribadu is just someone pragmatic folks, aware of the reality of Nigeria, will find easy to like and wish well because he is , even with flaws taken into account, comparatively a very good and dedicated person. Nigerian politics is full of Barracudas so more people than not will wish a good guy like Ribadu well. Personally, I wish him well also. |
alobam1: And yet Osoba and co would not let this man be..APC behaving just like PDP..Birds of the same featherBelieve me, Osoba is just a bitter old man and an egotist who refuses to be reasonable. Osoba and others like him are merely beefing Amosun because he has no time for politics of patronage and just wants to get on with his job of leading Ogun State. Alas, every Party has 'throwbacks' like Osoba who can never 'chill' in the interest of what is best for the people. Amosun will overcome because he is, all things taken into account, a very good Governor. Certainly one of the top 5 in Nigeria. |
duni04: Many talking ignorantly about debt. When we don't know how finance, debt and money work, its hard to hold our leaders accountable. People should realise that these states borrow because of their high IGR'S not inspite of the high IGR's. When they borrow money, they hedge the money against the income they expect to earn within the framework or tenure of the debt. Lenders dole out loans to states that are capable of repaying such loans. Lagos for instance has hedged its 25 billion naira infrastructure bond against its monthly IGR. Its as simple as a student on a 20k allowance taking out a 60k loan to buy a phone and promising to hedge the loan against his allowance so that 10k is deducted from his allowance by the lender every month so that in 6 months he would have paid back the loan and still have plenty of money to spend. The illiterate rabble-rouser is too 'thick' to even have an inkling of what you are talking about. |
@OP. Is this elaborate rigmarole in aid of declaring an 'agbalumo' a Pineapple? |
Articul8: we can not compel every one to act like a nonentity because of wt happened to Fayemi in Ekiti. We cnt because d fear of nt re-elected now act irrationally. Even if he's nt going 2 b re-elected, let the truth be told first. Note: dnt mortgage ur future for mediocrityThank you. If performing Governors are held to ransom because of sectional interest then who loses in the long run? Ekiti some now use as a reference point has its own cross to bear. We can only wish them well and hope the gamble with Fayose pays off. Amosun more than deserves a second term. |
django1: Why are you obsessed with the color of the roofs?Bruv, ignore people like that. They never change and are programmed to hate others their entire lives. Check out the thread below from 2012 , i.e a year after Amosun took over, and witness how some of us have always supported Amosun because we realised he is special. Okunrin meta !!! Notice also that the hardcore haters, still here today, remain the same bad belle lot. They've gotten older but the mindless hatred remains in them. I am personally Looking forward to the Abeokuta City centre and the Ogun State modern light rail network. No time for haters https://www.nairaland.com/1121409/pictures-ongoing-projects-ogun-state http://dilemma-x.net/2013/12/25/nigeria-ogun-states-abeokuta-city-centre-plans-to-rise-60-floors/ |
koboko69: This is what NL has turned to. When PDP recruits minors, trolls, dullards, with no creativity as thier OccupySocialMedia team....what do one expect?I am actually ashamed to be called a Nigerian alongside these clannish and disgracefully elements with minds destroyed by prejudice and bias. They do not even know how undemocratically backward and caveman-like, in the most myopic way possible, they sound with their daily rants against the strongest opposition to a worthless and oppressive entity that has decimated Nigeria for 15 years. APC is here to stay, thrive and provide an alternative to the impunity-laden monopoly the PDP has enjoyed which has made the Party probably the most indolent, most corrupt and most blatantly misruling in the entire world. Even beyond Nigeria, those who see the big picture and wish Nigeria well celebrate the arrival of the APC as another unavoidable landmark in the path Nigeria must travel towards greatness. The PDP will not reform from the goodness of its own heart. 15 'locust years' under the "nest of killers" bears this out as almost a fact. A Party is barely two years old but it is making the brutally callous ruling Party to sit up and tremble. APC, for all its fault, will continue to grow and the Party will get its chance for sure because the PDP is full of individuals used to stealing every kobo and giving nada back in return. Nigerians, albeit slowly, are becoming more politically sophisticated. The propaganda and divisiveness the PDP enjoys deploying, to mask how it has failed horrendously, will not fool the polity for much longer. |
SirShymex: Furthermore, you have to question where all the billions of dollars budgeted for defence since the insurgency started have been going. It doesn't even take that long to modernise an army, based on the threats/challenges it's facing. I'm still shocked Nigeria has no modern tanks. T80s and T90s aren't even that expensive. A unit goes for like between $2-4 million, and Nigeria should be able to afford hundreds of those tanks with ease - based on the threat the country is facing. The country has been at war for about four years now. This is the crux of the matter and I don't see why Nigerians fail to see that this is an untenable failing of government that means heads, from the very top downwards, should roll. In semi-failed Nigeria and under Captain Inepto (GEJ) our lawmakers have even received a ludicrous petition asking it to approve a $1 billion loan to 'fight insecurity' when the $18 billion disbursed to do same over 3 years seems to have achieved absolutely nada. Exasperating and self-destructive nation full of myopic conmen who think they are smart. |
Sincere9gerian: Gbawe is clearly having a field day with is lenghty but senseless epistles. I hope to see his lenghty epistles on threads that reports the successess of the Nigeria Army too.Mr.Village herbalist posing as a "medical Doctor on sabbatical" are you in pain? You better visit a real doctor and check you have not developed stress-related high blood pressure. No one asked you put your health at risk, all because of 'stomach infrastructure', by signing up to be the chief boot-licker of a leader who is ineptitude personified. Also, have you now not been "on sabbatical" for a few years now? Fraudster. Why don't you just confess that you are a paid e-sycophant and professional azzlicker? |
Seun: That does not logically follow from what I'm saying. I'm saying that it makes no sense for GEJ to fail at his job on purpose. It's one thing to say that his efforts are not effective and quite another thing to say he doesn't care. It makes no political sense for him not to care. Even if he truly doesn't care on a personal level, he must surely care that his continued failure to beat Boko Haram is destroying him politically.Look, he does not "give a damn". Those who say GEJ does not care mean it literally - and justifiably so from the actions and inaction of Mr.President. You disregard the notion that GEJ has proven to be a very crude and callous administrator. Were you on Mars when Ribadu, as head of the Petroleum task force GEJ set up, recommended that Nigeria immediately stop, as the only major exporter of crude doing so, selling our oil through traders because this abets corruption and theft against Nigeria? Even with such a public call to task, did GEJ act? NO !!! Even more indicative of his total devotion to doing the opposite of what will deliver solutions, GEJ binned the entire Ribadu report, disgraced the former EFCC chairman publicly and sanctioned a character assassination war against Mallam Ribadu. You forget also, when it was vital he did so, GEJ failed, till today, to bring fuel subsidy scammer to book. In fact, if I am correct and in testimony to the sheer shamelessness of our President, one of those in Court for scamming Nigeria is now coordinating the TAN 'boju-boju' fraud for GEJ i.e Ifeanyi Ubah. Those are only two glaring episode, out of many, of Jonathan acting in a way that shows "he does not care" to deliver solutions and is is disinterested in any notion of his political interest being affected by his actions/inactions. This is a man who believes he can crudely fail everyone, brazenly abet corruption and malfeasance openly all day and then use the wealth of Nigeria to buy everyone on board when elections are upon us. If you are honest with yourself you will admit GEJ has, unlike other leaders, never demonstrated the leadership style that involves direct application of pertinent solution to major problems facing his Country. He will either drag his feet, abet the root cause of the problem or directly worsen things with his indifferent attitude and inaction. To me, this is the sign GEJ is a seriously compromised administrator leading on behalf of those who cause Nigeria's problem. The Boko Haram issue is the same with how Jonathan indirectly admits that the sponsors of the terror group are his associates and co-workers yet he lets them continue their nefarious deeds. Bottom line is that this is a man disinterested in leading yet absolutely obsessed with holding on to power. He subscribes to the condemnable ways of the past whereby sit-tight failed leaders simply use everything ,whether money or political office/favours and EFCC bullying, to buy more time in power. Why perform when you are in a nation still backward and corrupt enough to let you continue in power as long as 'awon boyz' are settled handsomely? |
ceemere: its funny how nobody talks about those who said nigeria will be ungovernable for GEJ, all they do is blame GEJ, even when they know those who said it and put it in motion by bringing in boko boys. Abeg mey una hit the hammer on the head of the nail which is all those northern elders and politicians who said they will make sure nigeria will be ungovernable for GEJ. Anyways I blame him partially cos if it was to be OBJ, all northern states for don be charcoal from Air strike by now. MtchewwwNo doubt GEJ faces assault from those determined to undermine him but we are all witness to how he will not even do the minimum to get Nigerians on his side. We only see him supervising the unconscionable looting undermining the ability of our armed forces to confront and overcome terror. Did GEJ and the PDP not continue to tell us they know who the sponsors of terrors are without anyone been brought to book? Is this not the main reason the guns of Boko haram are getting bigger and more sophisticated? I.e their 'known' sponsors and backers remaining at large and doing damage arming the street-level combatants? What has happened to Senator Ndume till today? Did GEJ himself not say that Boko haram has "infiltrated every level of my government"? Have you then seen any arrest? Is this how to overcome terrorism? Please, the time to see GEJ as a 'victim' is long gone. Now it is obvious he is a man only interested in power at all cost regardless of how terrible things are becoming for Nigeria. You forget that it is very easy for a 'disengaged' and self-serving leader to be apathetic to all the deaths he is personally detached from. This is exactly what is happening with our President who fiddles and chases his own political agenda while Nigeria burns. GEJ's own myopia will be his undoing. |
econity: you don't seem to catch what he meant.Thank you very much. The truth is bitter and some would rather attack other Nigerians in the same position as them rather than the leaders who cause the problems we are all facing. Whether we like to accept it or not, the truth is that Boko Haram grows stronger and more powerful, even parading weapons more sophisticated than our Army men have access to, because their sponsors the FG fail to bring to justice remain faithful to them by ensuring they have a supply of all they need (money, arms, warfare equipment et al) to take the fight to our Army while killing and kidnapping innocent Nigerians gleefully. Meanwhile the 'sponsors' of our Army, the FG, preferred undermine the 'good guys' by looting the billions that should be invested into making our Army men far superior to Boko boys in terms of fighting skills, preparedness and weapons used. Some people can continue pretending they do not understand what is simple and black and white because of political/ethnic affiliation. What I know is that what is happening to our armed forces is something we must all rise above partisan bias to speak against. |
comos: Nice decision indeed! You don't get it and will not get it. I am not condemning the Army. I am angry at and condemning the corruption, lack of political will and political interference that has turned our once commendable Nigerian Army into a force that is now the butt of jokes and derision worldwide. It is embarrassing to hear the USA tell the world our army men are 'cowards' afraid/unprepared to fight and confront Boko Haram. I personally don't think our Army men are cowards but low moral, poor welfare and lack of adequate equipment will leave most men disinterested in conflict they are right to conclude is a 'suicide mission'. It seems our Army, because of desperate and power-drunk politicians, now only excel at intimidating voting civilians and unarmed individuals while they run away from heavily armed Boko Haram terrorists. You think it is wise for you to direct your venom at your fellow Nigerian and not at the politicians who did 'abracadabra' with the billions of dollar pumped into the fight against Boko Haram and insecurity? Bruv, face your front abeg. |
eejo: The army had the highest corruption index in Nigeria boko haram invasion will continue untill the air force is upgraded , Nigeria another iraqi in the makingYou may actually be right given the revelations about the pathetic state of our army despite the billions of dollars, by far the biggest in the history of Nigeria, pumped into the fight against Boko Haram and insecurity. |
Yungmilio2: You rightThis is what we are saying !!!! Why loot the money meant to equip these men for god sake? Should |
comos: Talking is cheap!Did you read and understand anything I wrote? Why will I join an Army of deception where my life and welfare means nothing to those who send me out to face the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of my nation? Which intelligent man, even if the most brave to live, will choose to die for nothing? Many Nigerians who join the Army have no choice. I do. How many well-educated and gainfully employed Nigerians , even if patriotic and willing to make a difference, do you think will readily join the Nigerian Army as currently constituted? Patriotism should not be another word for foolishness my friend. As a start, I won't be joining the army of a Nation where the politicians do not have the balls to go after the sponsors of terror they claim to know yet leave free to sponsor, arm and support the terrorists who will overcome my "patriotism" with their superior weapons and intel. We should all be speaking in one voice in support of sanctioning the corruption, duplicity and lack of political will killing our Army and turning it into an unattractive destination for many of the youths of Nigeria. Read the story yourself and stop mouthing off at your fellow Nigerians. Face the corrupt leaders you voted for indicted in the report below and making the Nigerian army a destination for unemployed and probably unemployable desperados alone. Are you not ashamed and livid that terrorists are better equipped than men of the Nigerian Army and that corruption has caused this? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-28927898 Boko Haram crisis: Nigerian troops 'flee into Cameroon' |
dhammyg: THESE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH COWARDICE.THE SOLDIERS ARE POORLY EQUIPPED AND POORLY FUNDED.THE NIGERIAN ARMY HAS BEEM ERODED BY CORRUPTION.IF THE SOLDIERS DIE THERE IS A HIGH CHANCE THE FAMILY THEY LEAVE BEHIND WILL NOT BE TAKEN CARE OF!!!!Indeed. Whether this claim is true or otherwise is not important. What is inevitable, unless something drastic happens, is that our Army will continue to see many members deserting and going AWOL because of low morale and total disillusionment with their own Army leaders and the politicians above them. People forget we live in an information age where even the most basic android phone these days places a lot of information in the hands of those willing to learn and gain knowledge. Which Army officer, after gaining requisite knowledge of the treasonous corruption leaving them exposed and under-equipped, will be happy to go and die for what appears a lost cause our leaders do not seem to believe in with how they choose to loot the funds meant to strengthen the capability of our Army to confront and overcome Boko Haram? It is very easy for any well-read Army officer to conclude that politicians don't care a jot about their welfare and are only interested in their own self-aggrandizement and continued stay in political office. If you were in the Army, will you choose to continue to be the sacrificial Goat for such wicked and heartless bosses? |
dhammyg: NIGERIA IS A PATHETIC COUNTRYYou can say that again. All the major problems of Nigeria have worsened under GEJ. |

OUR SOLDIERS NOW DEFECT TO OTHER COUNTRIES JUST LIKE OUR POLITICIANS DEFECT TO OTHER PARTIES
