ba7man: I visited the Enugu thread since it was recommended to me and I noticed it was peaceful because there were no South western posters trolling around.

I wouldn't say the same if it was an Ibadan or Oshogbo or any other Yoruba thread.
That is because Yoruba folks are at peace with themselves and others. The obsession of some SE posters with all things Yoruba here is mainly one way. It is unrequited attention. Most Yorubas focus on their own affairs, are secure in themselves and have absolutely nothing to prove to anyone.

FYI, APC is only interested in working for the well being of many innocent Nigerians who are victims of PDP's evil leadership. And hopefully bring all those that have perpetrated evil against Nigerians to Justice.

Personally, I care less for anyone that have sold his soul to the Devil. Pack well before I do something that cannot be edited grin grin grin
Bro, you know them well. Who has time to waste on confused charlatan who cannot appreciate how aberrant they appear to neutral non-Nigerians over their hypocritical support of the universally-condemned PDP? These same hypocrites shouting against the APC are the same vociferous supporters of a ruling Party that callously looted funds meant to strengthen the capacity of our Army to fight terror. Our Army men are complaining bitterly and moral is seriously low yet these disgraceful PDP followers and hypocrites will not talk about that. They prefer to focus on what Agbada Tinubu wore today or the handbag the wife of Fashola used yesterday while remaining silent about the actions and inactions of the Party they support which is bankrupting Nigeria and squandering the lives of innocent folks.

Don't mind the daft chap. When an individual continues to ask the same question that has already received a comprehensive and very satisfactory answer, then you know he is a hateful chap who is not objective or fair. How can the response of Tinubu be faulted by any sane and even averagely objective mind? Did Tinubu feign ignorance of the past of Ikimi et al? Some people, because of the unobjective hatred of others, will only see what they want to see and not the reality before their eyes.

Their full attention is 24/7 on the SW to the detriment of their own development. The way some of them talk so bitterly and vehemently about Fashola, Amosun, Aregbesola et al, you would think that those men are their Governors and that they are from Lagos, Ogun, Osun et al and not Enugu, Abia, Anambra, ibonyi and Imo.

seanet02: There is a reason why some us usually bash those el-retardos from the other side of the Niger.
While carrying Lagos issues for head, they don't even bother to carry their own states issues for hand.
Dont mind them.
Bro, it is not even Lagos alone. Think of how mentally unbalanced some folks are when they leave their SE States to aimlessly roam the SW taking pictures of slums in Osun and Ekiti merely because they think this helps their mission of taking some post-civil proxy fight to the Yorubas. A sane person knows that the war is history and it is best for all sides (especially the young generation who did not witness the civil war) to move on, get along and be happy rather than for some to keep thinking they must 'get even' even if this means continuing the hatred through a vicious and non-ending cycle of indoctrinating their children with hateful and one-sided tales about 'evil/backstabbing Yorubas'. These children hear the bitter stories so much to the extent their aberrantly malevolent 'amebo' behaviour we see here day in day out is the outcome of the pain others force them to carry.

The clowns do not understand that most balanced Yorubas do not deny that we have slums everywhere since pragmatic intelligence and a devotion to accepting reality shows most Yorubas that these slums are an indication of past bad leadership and poor socio-economic management which can be improved upon with visionary and talented leadership. Indeed this is what the new generation of focused leaders like Fashola, Amosun, Aregbesola et al are determined to reverse. Now, considering that the entire world knows that all corners of Nigeria has unsightly slums to include many from the SE we have all seen pictures of, why is it only Igbo posters who are obsessed with traversing Yoruba land on a picture-taking mission when a vice-versa obsession cannot be linked to the Yorubas who are their target? Why do the Yorubas seem at peace with themselves and others while Igbos, at least as their Nairaland behaviour indicate, show an unhealthy 24/7 obsession with the Yoruba ethnic group and their "problems"? The answer is obvious. Any savvy South-westerner who understands what is going on will simply scoff at their fake concern and attemtp to show "Yorubas are in trouble". It is all part of their malevolent agenda sensible Yorubas should know to laugh at. Okay Lagos, Ogun et al are "heavily indebted" and Yoruba "generations unborn will bear the burden". Fine. Can some folks then stop boring us with this same diatribe, leave us to our "debts" and "suffering" to go and mind the business of their home State be it Enugu, Anambra, Ebonyi, Imo or Abia?

arresa: You know, I used to think it's ignorance and illiteracy, but it's quiet obvious it's way way more than that...
Of course it is. look at those who are the main instigators of all antagonism of Lagos and the SW, to the extent they are happy to ignore the input of knowledgeable and involved professional experts, and you will discern their real 'issues'. Ask yourself if it makes sense for someone from Enugu to ignore the affairs of his own State, and the conduct of his Governor, to focus on what Amosun, Fashola and Aregbesola are doing 24/7.

Do you come here daily to obsess about Enugu or Ebonyi? As a balanced person, do you come here daily to shed tears over what Abia owes when it is entirely normal to leave that to Abians to worry about? Bro, once you understand the core issues of these clowns then you won't engage in any back and forth that indulges their malevolent and unobjective obsession with everything/everyone from the SW.

Don't mind these 'herded' fans of GEJ and the PDP. Like the ogas they worship in the PDP, it is never about accepting responsibility as someone in a position of power. For these cowards and weaklings, it is entirely about blaming others while Nigeria burns. Sadly for them, foreigners are not brought up on the same diet of ethno-religious prejudice that has now blinded many Nigerians to the simple realisation of how we must all, whatever political camp we are in, ask those in power to stop the blame game and deal with terror decisively.

Do these fans of the PDP think of the impression they create about Nigeria before the entire world when they always senselessly portray a new opposition Party as more powerful and more dominating than the ruling Party of 15 years? What is stopping the PDP from bringing culprits to justice even if they are APC members? All the talk and shamelessly impotent finger-pointing, with no actions seen at all, is why foreign observers without the bias or compromised mentality of Nigerians ask our official ruling government to act and recognise that the grave and dangerous situation today means it is "past time for denial and pride".

I see many Jonathanians ,and thus PDP supporters by default, showing the world they lack political sophistication, exposure, vision and even common sense. Is this how the biggest opposition Parties to Ruling Parties "die" worldwide in the opinion of you bitter Village boys and petty people? APC is less than two years old. Look at the trouble it is giving a 15 year old 'agbaya' and big-for-nothing ruling Party?

You guys are so local and 'ghetto' if you think defections, especially around election time in a nation where politics is monetised, means anything. Especially with desperado GEJ throwing Nigeria's money at everything and everyone? The exploits of the APC in under 2 years of existence show it is a ruling Party in waiting. Go and study your history and stop being so emotional. Even Ghana next door should be a case study for you ethnocentric and religiously prejudiced clowns. You should all take a hint from how the PDP pays so much attention to what APC is doing the ruling Party now waits for the APC to lead on national issue before issuing it usual and reactionary rhetoric or copycat action. Agbaya PDP, always running scared of the APC, should be officially renamed "Popular Destination of Pus*ies". smiley

Well, I don't know what a police dungeon in Nigeria looks like and I don't think there is a definitive way a person looks like when bleeding from gunshot wounds to his legs. Anyway, its is the Nigerian Police force we are talking of and you may be right with your conclusion. The Country definitely needs serious reform of the entire justice system. Many Police officers believe in routine summary execution because they argue that a corrupt system will allow some of these killers back on the Street to kill and maim more innocent Nigerians. Tragic situation overall.

How do you conclude this? He pulled his gun and engaged security operatives in a shoot-out. If they really wanted to execute him then it does not make sense they complicate the situation by rushing him to hospital. It seems as if the Police events of things may be correct because we all know that the men of the Nigerian police, if they want to, will simply shoot you dead and concoct a story.

Arresting George on that day was not an easy task as he reportedly drew his Beretta pistol tucked into his knickers and engaged the SARS operatives in gun duel when he sighted them, after they had laid ambush for him for hours. But he and his partner were halted in their tracks as hot lead was pumped into their legs. Though they were rushed to hospital to save their lives, the two suspects later died as a result of the injuries they sustained.

My arrest is like a dream, says armed robber who killed Akala’s driver

07.Sep.2014

https://www.tribune.com.ng/images/segun-george.jpg

SEGUN George, the notorious armed robber who snatched N500,000 from the driver of the wife of former governor of Oyo State, Mrs Oluwakemi Alao-Akala and killed him after trailing him from a bank, made startling revelations after his arrest on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, as he confessed to have belonged to a cult group while he was a student of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, and started handling guns as a cultist.

George also said he never believed that he could be arrested as he was very careful in evading the police, describing the way he was arrested by Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Ibadan, as a dream that he would like to wake up from. George was described as a notorious armed robber who was using motorcycle to terrorise Ibadan by moving about the city to snatch vehicles and rob bank customers.

In an operation that led to his eventual arrest, George’s gang had trailed one Mr Oshodi to his house on July 11, 2014 at Challenge area of Ibadan and forcefully robbed him of his Hyundai Elantra car valued at N3.5 million, but two of the armed robbers, David Ida and Fatai Olowookere, were intercepted by policemen from Kwara State Command same day and were arrested with the car.

Crime Reports learnt that after the case was transferred to Ibadan, detectives from SARS, led by the Officer-in-Charge, Superintendent of Police Michael Eneji, acted on the confession of the arrested duo and went after other members of the gang. Their efforts paid off when they went to Inalende and Opoyeosa areas of Ibadan and arrested Kolawole Lasisi and Sikiru Olayiwola were arrested on July 30.

Olayiwola led the police to George’s house at Ile-Aperin, Aremo area, Ibadan on August 7 but on sighting the police, the notorious armed robber scaled a fence, jumped on the roof of another building and shot his way out. However, other two suspects, namely Babatunde Oyelakun and Adebayo Kehinde were arrested while George’s armoury was discovered. Two locally-made double-barrel cut-to-size guns, three locally-made single barrel cut-to size guns and two rounds of live cartridges were recovered from the gang leader’s house.

It was further gathered that after George’s escape, he went to Ile-Ife in Osun State but sneaked into Ibadan, unknown to him that the SARS operatives were still on his trail. He was eventually arrested with another gang member, Nurudeen Sodiq (22) on August 26 at about 8.30 p.m. when he went to pick his girlfriend from her shop at Aremo area of the city.

George was a man dreaded by his gang members as they shiver at the mention of his name, even in the cell at SARS unit. But before his death, George opened up to the police on the reason beside his choice of profession, saying that he engaged in crime because his parents were poor and he saw people living ostentatious lives. He confessed that one Abraham initiated him into cultism at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, from which he graduated into armed robbery. He also said he had gangs in Ile-Ife and Onitsha in Anambra State.

When asked whether he depended on charms to carry out successful robbery operations, George was quoted to have said: “It is not like that, you will not understand,” adding that “I have now asked God to forgive me. I will not ask anyone to toe my path.”

I like how you put issues wittily. Seriously, the same Nigeria we curse is the same nation foreigners still flock to for the purpose of taking advantage of unique opportunities virtually no other nation of the world offers. We need to open our eyes to the opportunities around us and realise that nothing stops us from delivering solutions to our own problems.

I am currently doing something linking the tourism and hospitality drive of Osun State with the target market in the West i.e UK, Europe, USA et al and I was shocked to note no one had thought of it before or approached the State with similar. You spend your time hating and insulting the 'old boys' like Tinubu, Atiku, OBJ, Anenih, tukur, IBB, Buhari et al so why then can you not set aside your bad belle for young entrants into Nigerian politics who will likely practice a more productive brand of politics, whatever Party they represent, than the elderly 'old school' career politician 9ice may be competing against?

Kate Henshaw, for example, is an impressive lady. That she joined the PDP is not a negative for me because I see the big picture to know she is exposed, modern and intelligent enough to be a step in the right direction rather than a Patricia Etteh 'throwback' type.

Nigerian trio celebrated as owners of biggest online job site
06.Sep.2014

https://www.tribune.com.ng/images/jobber-founder.jpg

RONKE SANYA writes on how British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) celebrated the achievement of giants of Nigeria’s number one online recruitment website, Jobberman, started by the trio of Ayodeji Adewunmi, Olalekan Olude and Opeyemi Awoyemi, then as undergraduates, now, they own a multi-million naira business that has achieved so much feat and is still growing.

At a time a lot of youths resorted to using the internet for fraudulent activities, duping innocent victims of their hard-earned money, Ayodeji Adewunmi, Olalekan Olude and Opeyemi Awoyemi, all graduates of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State, decided to create jobs for the teeming jobless youth and helped them find their dream jobs.

Their success journey started August 16, 2009, when university lecturers in Nigeria embarked on Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike, the three young undergraduates, who shared a burning desire to recreate and redefine job sourcing and recruitment in Nigeria and beyond, made the best use of the ASUU strike to start the recruitment website, Jobberman.

Primarily, sources jobs directly from companies and recruiting agencies and broadcasts them via the website, blog, email, partner websites and social networks. Job seekers search and apply for jobs by either visiting the website directly or through partner portals. Recently, has been described by Forbes as West Africa’s most popular job search engine and aggregator.

was set up to bridge the gap between opportunity and talent, creating a marketplace, where job seekers and employers in Nigeria can find one another quickly, easily, and cost-effectively.

Five years down the line, Jobberman, has today grown to become Nigeria’s No.1 recruitment website.

In recognition of this feat, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) captures the story of the founders in a documentary interview, on September 2, 2014, narrating the trio’s success story as a dream that started “from slow summer to massive start-up,” describing “a dream that started during a strike to become a multi-million dollar worth business estate, employing 125 people, and is still growing.”

According to BBC, “while Nigeria is Africa’s largest economy, it still has massive unemployment problems, in particular among young people, who are also more likely to be connected to the internet. Jobberman has become the single largest job placement website in sub-Saharan Africa, helping over 35,000 people find jobs within the last two years.

The number of companies using the site to find employees has grown from about 40 in 2009, to some 35,000, today.

Carrying between 500 and 1,000 jobs on the site everyday, the founders estimate that there are about 1,000 active users searching for a job at any given time.

Speaking with BBC in an interview, co-founder of Jobberman, Olalekan Olude said: “The growth has been tremendous, it is at rocket speed. One of the biggest challenges has been to keep up with the volume of work.”

Speaking on ways of overcoming fraud fears, Olude stated that there have been other challenges along the way.

“In the beginning, a lot of people did not trust an internet-based business because at that time, a lot of people were using the internet to perpetrate fraud here in Nigeria,” he says.

However, as other online businesses thrived and became trusted, so did Jobberman. Olude added that, “companies would dip their toe in the water with one or two postings and then when they trusted the site they would come back.”

In 2012, some of Jobberman’s clients wanted to use the site to find workers in Ghana and so the company took its first work outside Nigeria. Two years later, Jobberman is said to be the biggest online job site in Ghana, as well as Nigeria.

The company is now expanding its reach to Kenya with a partner called Brighter Monday. The partnership also gives it a footprint in Uganda and Tanzania.

BBC revealed further that some people actually find a job through the site without actually applying for one.

Amarachi Apakama, while narrating her story said she uploaded her details and was approached by a company to take the position of executive assistant at a mobile phone content company.

“That really changed my life,” she said. “It was a morale booster. It helped my confidence, the fact that my interests and my experience put together such a good job that I didn’t have to apply for.”

The BBC’s business teams across Africa also spoke with the founder, Ayodeji Adewunmi, who says: “It is incredibly fulfilling, helping people to become economically-empowered by getting job placements via Jobberman.

“One company recruited more than 80 per cent of their employees through the site. Another time, a director was able to hire a former colleague in the United States to come and work for his company here in Lagos. All amazing stories.”

Olude says: If you put food on the table by virtue of getting a job for someone, that person also fends for a mother or a brother and you create a multiplier effect within that household.

“Anytime we get to hear of such stories, we are very, very happy. It motivates us, it makes us look forward into the future and try and get more people to get more jobs.”

Did u see the way I mentioned people I admire in APC?? PDP now tries to force their mediocre politicians eg Bode George, Obanikoro, Buruji Kashamu etc on the South west.......imagine, fielding a candidate like Omisore and now Akala to Govern.....that's just plain 5tupid.

Try and mention yours in PDP and see how far you'll get. If PDP had presented credible candidates, no problem but with the crop of Governors they keep parading, what's not to dislike??

Apart from GEJ, there's nothing for you guys in PDP. When he's gone you all will probably scatter into the wind because there's nothing left for u guys to hold on to in PDP.

Who will you then root for?? Jonah jang?? Uduaghan?? Seriake Dickson??.....its hard to find an individual with a semblance of credibility in that Party.

Goodluck with your awakening.
Thank you. This is what I pointed out to him on another thread i.e his unobjective hatred of Tinubu that makes him assume Tinubu=APC. Tinubu=President of Nigeria. Tinubu=C-in-C of Nigeria. This is why he goes around shouting APC=PDP and apologising to supporters of a Party that has destroyed Nigeria over 15years whereas he wants to convince the world that a Party that is not even two years old and has never had the chance to lead Nigeria at the centre is to be rejected. Albert Einstein terms that madness. I.e doing things the same way and expecting a different outcome. Where on this thread has the confused Alhaji acknowledged the many outstanding individuals, some of the best Nigeria has to offer, in the APC as you do here easily?

Is the fact that he prefers to say APC is "full of former PDP members" not a statement of gross fallacy and prejudice same as how a racist will say all black men are criminals, because of a few examples alone, while dishonestly failing to recognise the many talented and outstanding black individuals that overwhelmingly prove otherwise? If he took off his goggles of hatred against Tinubu for a minute he will see and openly admit to what I wrote to him on another thread now reproduced below. The project of gaining a SW that works is greater than Tinubu and the indisputable evidence shows this is happening 100% given what obtains today in comparison to what we saw under the PDP
only a very dishonest or sentimentally hateful chap, like Aljharem, will deny. The PDP in the SW, when it had it's chance over many years, showed it was about taking every kobo and giving Nigerians nada in return. Only a godforsaken lair, given all we are seeing now, will say APC is the same as that. The Party is not perfect but the strides it's administrators have made in the Southwest shows that comparing PDP to APC is like saying Darkness is equal to light respectively. Show me a PDP supporter that only talks of PDP decampees when stereotyping the APC and I will show you the personification of prejudice and dishonesty

You are someone operating with hate, bias and sentiments alone so I cannot be bothered with you apart from saying that we are all not shameless liars like you or suffering from dementia. Any genuine South-Westerner who is honest and the true son of his father will tell you you can never compare what obtains under the APC today, throughout the SW, to the "locust years" of the PDP. Because a man has been out of prison for a while does not mean he begins lying that bland prison food is 'no different' to food served in a high quality restaurant run by a talented Chef. It is either that man has a serious problem with his taste buds or he is an aberrant chap who loves all things to do with his former life of captivity.
