Was there dearth of young and qualitative, lettered, energetic and vibrant human capital in Nigeria that this man was elected to lead the most populous, lettered, dynamic and diverse black nation as Nigeria?

Who sold this grand scam of the century to the Nigerian people?
Do you know better than Elumelu who is paying respect to the President-Elect? You guys are not very intelligent and you only argue sentimentally and your comment above reveals this. Do you know the qualities required of the Nigerian President currently given the 'peculiarity' of our nation and do you think all you listed above is it? Was you messiah GEJ not "lettered"? What did he achieve? You may not know what Buhari translates to in reality within the Nigeria leadership space , because you are an irreverent and ethnocentric chap given to hating him blindly, but you will know soon.

Keep up the insult. You people never learn and that is why you remain on NL pretending to be "CEOs and mansion-owner" while the real CEO and mansion-owner, i.e Tony Elumelu, calls El-Rufai "my brother". That is how people like him made it to the top of the tree and this is why uncouth folks like you will get nowhere and will remain here bragging ethnically over the achievements of the Elumelu's of the world. The likes of Elumelu understand diplomacy, decorum, respect for others and bridge-building. Things alien to many of you. If Elumelu you are not fit to wipe shoes for is paying homage to Buhari then you better recognise.

Sir, I think Lagos needs to focus more on Banking, and perhaps they'll start doing that with Eko Atlantic.

The state can be the financial hub of at least West Africa.

Floating Lagos Stock Exchange also won't be a bad idea.
You're completely correct. Lagos has the potential to be a great banking and financial hub similar to London and New York. This is why we all wanted Ambode to win so Lagos can benefit from being a ruling Party State. A lot of high-level technocrats and very brilliant minds currently manage Lagos yet their brilliance and efficacy were frustrated by the activities of the PDP Federal government that played politics of enmity to sabotage Lagos. Now we can expect to see Lagos deliver on its vast potentials. A lagos stock exchange is something I expect to be a reality in futre because Lagos is essentially a Nation-state with a higher GDP that many African Nation and an already important hub of activity. Ironically, the Nigerian stock exchange was originally called the Lagos stock exchange when originally established. I am so happy for Lagos as many projects will come on board to make the State much greater.

The Trans–West African Coastal Highway for example (the blue line in the map below) is important because it is a highway that links virtually all West African nation along their coastal and often most important cities. Lagos can complete its end and liaise more aggressively with ECOWAS to facilitate uncompleted sections. The implication for west-African trading and movements of goods and service is immense for Lagos and Nigeria. For example, poor transport and logistic challenges is one of the reasons why some African Countries trade far more with the west than they do with their neigbhours. I am betting that Lagos will be one of the States to achieve stable electricity within a year. Fashola already stated it could be done within a year with the right policy framework. Bro, it is looking good for Lagos and I hope the APC performs highly at State and federal so Lagos can be all it has the potentials to be.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans%E2%80%93West_African_Coastal_Highway

The Trans–West African Coastal Highway is a transnational highway project to link 12 West African coastal nations, from Mauritania in the north-west of the region to Nigeria in the east, with feeder roads already existing to two landlocked countries, Mali and Burkina Faso.[1]

The eastern end of the highway terminates at Lagos, Nigeria. Some organizations such as the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) consider its western end to be Nouakchott, Mauritania, and others such as the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa consider it to be Dakar, Senegal, giving rise to these alternative names for the road:

Overall length and condition[edit]
The length of the route is 4,560 kilometres (2,833 mi) of which 83% or 3,777 km (2,347 mi) has been paved according to African Union (AU) documents,[1] or 4,010 km (2,492 mi) with 3,260 km (2,026 mi) paved, according to African Development Bank (ADB) reports (which do not include the Nouakchott-Dakar section of about 570 km (354 mi)).[2] There are about 9 unpaved sections, but some paved sections require reconstruction. All are two-lane highways with the exception of short four-lane highways in the eastern third of the route. The ADB reports published in 2003 say that 32% of the highway is in poor condition, 9% is good and 59% is fair. Reconstruction of the segment in Lagos, Nigeria began in 2010, and when it is complete that section will be ten lanes wide.[3]

Metuh and his party have no shame. We can remember the PDP, specifically through Metuh, asking for "issue-based" campaigning only for the ruling Party to then embrace rofo-rofo mudslinging against GMB. Metuh, you are a shameless and discredited liar so we now know to expect the opposite of what you say. Therefore I say do your worst.

But are Igbos indigenous to Lagos? And what economic factors are you alluding to, when Igbos are inconsequential in all the major sectors in the Lagos economy?

Economic - how? By small trading that's more of a nuisance than anything else, no? - hysterical.

List the major banks, industries, et al owned by Igbos in Lagos (don't include SS).
Shymexx, that BS is a big scam created by the empty chest-beating and braggadocio of some suffering from delusions of grandeur. Did you not see the whole picture expose thingy on Nairaland that showed many of these "CEO mansion-owners" to be hungry-looking and unkept urchins despite their empty chest-beating here? The fact is that Yorubas are firmly in control when you talk of Industry, property development and organised/multi-level businesses and the formal sector that create employment, pays taxes and grows.

You know my background so you understand the article I present below about the reality of Ghana, specifically Accra, which is similar to the situation of Lagos. Look at the list below to see the names of those engaged in big, formal and organised businesses/sectors that creates employment, pays huge taxes and are generally considered an asset to the host nation. Next minute you will see some braggarts claiming they "own" Accra merely because they are to be found in large number as petty traders in the markets in the City. A humble person would realise that even Chicken Republic, a Yoruba-owned fast food franchise operating in Ghana, generates more income, pays more taxes and employs far more Ghanaians then 60 petty trading stalls owned by igbos can manage to do. What would then be the point of those Igbo traders calling Yorubas "lazy and unambitious" when we are actually more successful at the end that matters whereas they only have large numbers in the petty trading sector as their main claim to 'dominance'. It is crazy dude and a fu*ked-up level of self-delusion.

Like I always say, if the Yorubas were braggart then this sh1te would not be funny as some would be shocked at the extent of their own self-delusion based on the 'supremacy' lies they have been told that led them to come here and brag only for pictures to show them as mainly unkept hustlers. I have no issues with anyone but when you start generalising and denigrating an assured, talented, innovative, intelligent and industrious people as "lazy and Unambitious" because of nothing but your own delusions of grandeur, driven by inferiority complex, then I will speak up with facts to show the Yorubas lag behind no one and are actually greater achievers than our understated nature predisposes against bragging about. I don't know how difficult it is for some to understand that petty trading and owning many small stalls does not mean you "own everything" and "control the economy". I even feel sorry for these guys because they are clearly victims of the malevolent indoctrination that has shaped their empty chest-beating, dishonesty and intellectual laziness.

UNVEILING NIGERIANS WHO PLAY BIG IN GHANA
0 COMMENT 21 MAR 2013 POSTED BY

•How They Run Big Banks & Insurance Companies

When it comes to activities in the Ghanaian economy, Nigeria no doubt is a big player. Nigeria is rated the 3rd biggest investor in Ghanaian economy, after the U.S and China and this explains the magnitude of the massive influence the country wields in terms of business and commerce in Ghana. It is also on record that Nigeria has led the revolution in some key sectors of the Ghanaian economy, especially in the banking and insurance sectors. This piece is about top Nigerian Corporate Executives who are steering the wheels of big corporate institutions and establishments in Ghana, with special focus on the Banking and Insurance sectors. Interestingly, there is no sector of the Ghanaian economy, where you will not find a Nigerian holding a big stake.
In the banking sector, there is no way the story of the current revolution in the Ghana banking industry would be told without the mention of names of Nigerian corporate titans who helped in reshaping the sector in the country. One of such men is Dolapo Ogundimu.. He is the Managing Director of Access Bank. Before he took up the job, Dolapo was the MD of Guaranty Trust Bank Ghana. A seasoned banker, Lekan Sanusi is the current MD of Guaranty Trust Bank Ghana Limited. Since he took over, he has kept the flag of the bank flying as one of the biggest financial institutions in Ghana. Zenith Bank is yet another Nigerian bank doing great in Ghana. Daniel Asiedu is the M/DCEO of the bank. Though Asiedu is a Ghanaian, he had spent most part of his career in Nigeria. Another man doing great in the banking sector is Oliver Alawuba. He is the Managing Director of United Bank of Africa (UBA) in Ghana. UBA is one of the best banks in Ghana at the moment.
Ghanaians can also not forget Nigerian multi-billionaire businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim in a jiffy. He is one of the men who had done so well for the Ghanaian banking industry. He established Energy Bank 2 years ago and today, the bank has 7 branches across the country. It was adjudged the Most Liquid Bank in Ghana last year and also one of the 2 with the Best Profit After Tax out of 28 banks. The Managing Director of Energy Bank Ghana Limited is Mr. Sam Ayinuola. He has been doing so well for the bank and has been bettering the fortunes of the bank. There is also Mr. Isaac Shedowo, who is the Deputy General Manager of Energy Bank.
There is also Mr. Michael Osikoya, who is the Head, Financial Control and Corporate Planning of the Bank. Seasoned Nigerian politician, Senator Iyiola Omisore is another big player in the Ghana banking industry. He, alongside some other Nigerian businessmen floated the First Atlantic Merchant Bank Ghana Limited last year. The bank is set to bring a ne experience to the industry. Another Nigerian entrepreneur who is playing a good role in the Ghanaian banking sector is Oye Balogun. He is one of the new Nigerian businessmen who just moved into banking in Ghana.
In the insurance sector, Nigerians are equally playing big. In that sector in Ghana, there are equally a lot of big names who have done well. There are names like that of Dolapo Balogun. He is one of the Nigerians who play big in Ghana where he owns a lot of investments. He started off as a big player in the Insurance sector in Nigeria, having taken over his dad’s insurance business and he has successfully taken it to the next level; expanding the company’s operations to Ghana few years back.
You cannot also forget names like Iyiola Saraki who is the MD of Nem Insurance Ghana Limited. There is also Roy Bernard, who runs Capital Assurance, Ghana Limited. Another prominent name in the Ghanaian insurance sector is Bode Oseni, who runs Regency Assurance Ghana Limited. Bode is one of the finest hands in the business of Insurance. In Ghana today, Equity Assurance ranks among the biggest in the Insurance sector. A seasoned insurance guru, Prince Yemi Adetuwo is the MD/CEO of the company. Another big name in the industry is Isola Akintunde. He is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Equity Assurance Ghana Limited.
There is also Prince Uche Okugo, who runs International Energy Insurance (I.E.I) Ghana Limited. We also have Abiodun Razak. He is the Managing Director of Intercontinental/WAPIC Insurance Ghana Limited. The insurance company, which has been doing well in Ghana over the years, has David Duduyemi as its General Manager.
Leaseafic Ghana Limited is a leading name in Finance and leasing services in Ghana. A seasoned Accountant, Alex Mbakogu is the General Manager of the company.

This idea that Igbos 'control' commerce in Nigeria is yet another chest beating nonsense that bears no correlation to reality.

If you say Igbos are dominant in trading, yes, one can let that pass. But 'commerce?' that's nonsense.

Igbos do not control Nigerian economy. Fact.
Don't mind the delusional and ignorant braggart. The problem for most of these guys is that they do not possess the capacity to work with reality. They are sentimental and self-delusional folks motivated almost entirely by a post-civil war lust for vengeance and 'getting even' with the Yorubas and others. This predisposes them to swallowing the 'supremacy' lies they are fed from the womb which has no basis in reality.

The fact is that reality will shock these guys. Even Lagos they brag about it is Yorubas firmly and totally in control over major industry, property development, Banking and organised business while these sadists present us as "lazy and unambitious" folks "now dominated in their own land". The fact that Yorubas are secure in themselves and not predisposed to bragging has encouraged some to over-estimate their own worth and actual importance all for the sake of attempting to belittle the Yoruba ethnic group. Pathetic, childish and pitiful. I like factual examples so Nairalanders should indulge me using the link below to see how "lazy" and "unambitious" Yorubas are yet manage to dominate in technocratic leadership. I wonder what would happen if we are "driven supermen" like some people emptily brag to be day in and day out while others go about their business quietly and successfully. The whole thing is pitiful really.

Go back and read your entire source again. I told you why you cannot brag about Lagos in this particular instance for the south east, but I'll use your source anyway: "The South Easterners plus their cousins across the Onitsha bridge control commerce in all parts of Nigeria and are thus largely employed."
You are dense. Why has 'commerce' not made them the number one regional economy in Nigeria and the region adjudged to have the potential to have one of the fastest growing economy in the world if it were a Nation? The Pakistanis control the corner-shop 'commerce' in the UK yet what does that mean in the grand scheme of thing when 10,000 of them combined are not as rich as even one of the Candy brothers or employ, pay and empower as many Britons as Richard Branson or Philip Green does? You guys will never get it because of your penchant for bragging wildly due to you perpetual desire to compensate for the inferiority complex you suffer from.

If he got his second, he would have completed the seaport and Enugu airport.

Now we await Yoruba APC to finish the projects and make Lagos Yoruba and for Yoruba alone.
Keep fooling yourself. The same GEJ who had 5 years in charge of Nigeria yet was only able to show that all he cared about was eating N1 billion food and jetting around in his ten airplanes. If you like attribute all manner of conspiracy theories to the Yorubas but it is now becoming obvious, even to decent Igbos, that many of you have a serious problem.

Keep deluding yourself. Why don't you prove you are indeed committed to staying on your own by remaining in your ancestral land and turning it into Dubai as you brag you can? You guys are not ashamed of going over Nigeria saying you "built this and that" plus you "own this and that" yet your folks are in poverty in your region and led by abject failures and cretins. You brag every single one of you is a mansion-owning intellectual, business guru and 'superman' yet you are led by first class cretins and misrulers like Theodore Orji, Martin Elechi et al. You will never understand charity begins at home and will forever seek to blame the Yorubas for your woes, as you are indoctrinated to do, while your misrulers in the SE continue to take you for a ride.

Look at this deluded OP for example you and others should be telling off if you have any developmental sense in your head and are at all progressive. The 5 years the SS and SE held sway through GEJ and many others was not enough to complete this Deep sea Port project to the extent you lot must now blame Yorubas? To be honest, I think many of you need mental evaluation because you simply don't reason like sane folks. You are pathetic and it is time you guys learned to leave the Yorubas alone and stay away from them if you cannot get over your post-civil war penchant for hating them mindlessly.

Nigeria: One Country Four Economies Discussion Points
By
Falalu Bello, OFR

v On the basis of ownership and/or control of resources that make for economic development, post-Obasanjo Nigeria in terms of strength could easily be categorized into 4 economies as follows:

a) South West Economy;

b) South East plus Delta Economy;

c) Northern Economy; and

d) South South minus Delta Economy

v The four economies mentioned above are fairly distinct with each growing at its own pace. The South Western economy is growing at a faster rate than all followed by South East plus Delta economy whilst those of the North and South South minus Delta could at best be described as stagnant. A simple analysis of these four economies is given below:-

a) South West Economy

South Western Nigeria with a Land Mass of 76,852 square kilometres and population of 25.2 million today owns and/or control 60% of the nation’s industrial capacity, 44% of banking assets, 67% of insurance assets and is house to the nation’s three deep sea ports of Apapa, Tin Can Island and Roro; the busiest international airport of Ikeja, three thermal stations of Egbin, Papalanto and Omotosho. Today, its three major industrial estates of Agbara, Ikeja and Otta are all linked to gas under the West African gas pipeline plan and piping of gas is ongoing from Otta to Abeokuta. Added to these, the South Western population today is the most educated as western education came through there and education as a resource was democratized since the early sixties. Geographical location, democratization of western education, availability of resources enhanced in last 9 years and some empowerment during the Obasanjo administration have collectively enabled the South Western economy to rank as first of the four economies in Nigeria. Today, the South West as a region can boast of having a defined growing middle class and is perceived to have at least 20,000 of its indigenes with net worth of over N100m each. Take it out of Nigeria, the South West economy with is defined growing middle class and resources, will be one of the fastest growing economies in the world.

b) The South-East plus Delta

The South Easterners plus their cousins across the Onitsha bridge control commerce in all parts of Nigeria and are thus largely employed. The region has clusters of small scale industries around Nnewi and Aba. The banking consolidation has assisted these people to now have ownership and or control of over 50% of Nigerian banking assets. It also controls 21% of the nation’s insurance assets and 20% of industrial assets. With this development, this region which has not had a commanding control over Nigerian economy will certainly begin to do that now. Commercial activities backed by finance can only grow the economy of South-East plus Delta. The growing strength of financial muscle of this region has been aptly demonstrated by the recent licensing of Micro Finance Banks. Of the over 600 MFBs recently licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Anambra State alone had 74 whilst Yobe State had 1, Sokoto 5, Zamfara 6, etc. There exists also in this economy a middle class which will now grow itself in number and financial muscle and will almost certainly grow its economy inclusive particularly of small and medium sized industrial base.

c) The Northern Economy

The North which geographically is 719,435 Square Kilometers or 79% of Nigeria’s landmass and has 75 million or 53.6% of Nigeria’s population has its economy as a consequence of various reforms introduced, been totally grounded. Today, the North has ownership and/or control of no more than 3% of banking assets and 2% of insurance assets and 10% of industrial assets. True, the North has a huge landmass but this has remained under exploited due to jettisoning of time tested policies of price support (as a result of abolishing of marketing boards without putting alternatives) and abandonment of extension services and quality control. Also, the North has a huge population but the population has remained largely uneducated and/or half educated because of near failure of governance in certain States and Local Governments. Currently its most distinguishing characteristic is grinding poverty. Recent poverty statistics indicate that the poverty level of States in the North has been on the increase in the last 9 years and reached over 80%. Its two commercial and industrial nerve centers (Kano and Kaduna) have seen industrial capacity utilization decline to an all time low of less than 10%. The textile, automobile and beverages companies that thrived so impressively in the 1970s and 1980s have collapsed rendering thousands jobless. Although hydroelectricity is generated at Kainji Dam and in lesser quantities at Shiroro Gorge and at several smaller sites, the entire mechanisms are run on very obsolete equipment and the performance is consequently very epileptic and unsuitable for meaningful economic activity.

d) The South South minus Delta

The South South is largely in the creeks of Niger Delta and has therefore a small land mass of only 48,321 square kilometers and is populated by 13.6 Million people. Notwithstanding the fact that it is house to Nigerian Oil wealth, this region exclusive of oil company activities like the North is also backward economically. It controls no more than 3% of banking assets, 10% of insurance assets and no more than 10% of industrial assets on account of oil related industries that the indigenes do not control. Furthermore, its overstretched land mass has suffered considerable degradation and its aquatic life destroyed. As a region, its people and economy are worst off than the North as it lacks fresh environment, water and even good air to breath.

v Geography, history and particularly the reform agenda of Obasanjo’s regime have created above very dangerous economic structure in Nigeria. By design or by accident Northerners and South Southerners as peoples and regions have been made third and fourth class citizens. We may well choose to ignore these happenings and pretend that they have not happened but doing so will be at the peril of the Nigerian Polity. It is indeed in the interest of the South Westerners and the South Easterners for some affirmative actions to be taken to redress the situation else there will be no real peace in this country moving forward. The so called “religious disturbances” in the Northern States and the Port Harcourt conundrum of kids of less than 15 years carrying guns and terrorizing the population will not stop until these imbalances are consciously addressed and redressed. As the saying goes “where the poor does not sleep because of hunger, the rich too will not sleep because of robbery”.
PoliticsRe: Why Are Some Jonathan Fans Still Hating?? by Gbawe:
theV0ice:
Of course it did. We all know the northern establishment or Kaduna mafia has always liked power. It didn't start today but GMB can't be considered a true member of that power cult same way OBJ can't be considered a Yoruba regional politician. The northern poor are the bedrock of the fanatical support GMB enjoys in the north, not the elite or the power mongers. They're all in PDP and they threatened gej in 2011. Interestingly the same man who made the threat of Nigeria being made ungovernable for gej is Lawal Kaita, a man GMB jailed in 1984 for fraud and who is now a PDP bot member and gej till 2019 campaigner.

Also You're accusing gbawe of predicting northern hostility but the man at least proffered ways gej could succeed inspite of it because he truly cares about Nigeria. You and your friends have also been prophesying doom and SS&SE hostility for GMB without advicing on how you think he can override the storm to better the lot of the country. What is more important to you? GEJ winning an election or Nigeria moving forward?
Thank you !!! Precisely the simple point I tried to get across that sentimental thinking will never allow some people to understand. The message was always very simple. There are those , from all corners of Nigeria, who feel it is their right to rule others. The reason the North was relevant for GEJ's Presidency is the belief by Northern hawks that Jonathan "stole" the slot of the North Yar Adua would have completed but for his death.

These Northern "born to rule" are the enemies of the North. They have nothing for the talakawas and care little for him. They exist on 'government business' totally and insisted on "business as usual" they felt GEJ would deprive them of. If GEJ were politically intelligent he would have realised that there is no pleasing those sort who will always be rapacious vultures. Jonathan, as I advised, should have tried to lead for ordinary Nigerians and get good leaders of integrity behind him. As I expected and warned against, GEJ did the opposite. He focused on appeasing the 'hawks' and "those who carry guns" (Rev. Ugolor) everywhere when these people, because of evolution, are a dying breed.

Nigerians are now more enlightened and more exposed. Social networking is playing its part. Nigerian youth who fancied themselves/their nation superior to Ghanaians/Ghana can go online to note that the average Ghanaian enjoy more stable electricity than he does and lives in a more secure/safe environment. As we moved into an age where increasing political sophistication meant Nigerians were naturally going to demand more, Jonathan should have embraced leaders who are ready to give more. Tinubu understood this concept and that is why he is the toast of Nigeria today even as the usual noise-makers continue to shout about how he has 'pocketed' the SW and Lagos. By contrast, GEJ chose a dying breed of elitist/anti-people politicians and ethnocentric rabble-rousers, like Lawal Keita you mentioned and Edwin Clarke, to empower. This ultimately brought him down because those sort have no value to the masses. They are not Buhari, Amosun, Fashola or El-Rufai.

For example, I know many from the SW, including my own father who voted GEJ in 2011, who were seething that GEJ chose to empower cads across Yoruba land like Obanikoro, Adesiyan, Teslim Folarin et al. The issue of Obanikoro is a quintessential example of how repellent GEJ is as a leader and one not to be pitied because he never gave a damn about anyone but himself and his crooked friends. Where is it done for a Minister to resign from his job to contest a gubernatorial election, be embroiled in an election-rigging scandal, lose the guber primaries contest he resigned his ministerial appointment for only to then be insensitively given another ministerial appointment after all that? To be honest, and congruent with the topic, it is amazing how "Jonathan fans are still hating" to the extent they fail to appreciate how badly their messiah effed-up and instead prefer to make their time here about hounding Buhari, Gbawe and well-meaning Nairalanders. These people are in for a very long ride of pain and disappointment as Buhari , with the help of the many good guys the APC has empowered into powerful leadership position, go on to genuinely transform Nigeria.

Gbawe, you actually have shamed critics who have been accusing you falsely. To think that you didn't hide your disbelief of gej's abilities but you still gave plenty useful suggestions on how he could succeed. You've shown you're larger than your small minded traducers.

Even your past posts they dug up absolve you of every accusation of bias and shows someone who is truly interested in the success of Nigeria. This I can say for most GMB supporters....at least down south.

Like I say to those who pray GMB fails, "just ensure you've secured the citizenship of another country" cheesy

GEJ lost, GMB won.......get over it or die in your bitterness. Your choice really.
Thanks bro. Truth is that I do okay in life. I am only here because I want what is best for Nigeria. I don't need anyone's 'likes' or 'protection'. I don't beg e-romance from any of our Nairaland ladies and I am not here to seek e-love when my personal life is full of love, fulfilment and happiness. Yet I tamper my own private joy with the knowledge that all is not okay for most Nigerians. They are in hell. Imagine the lives of a people condemned to lack of electricity for 5 days? It is for the sake of a better Nigeria I speak.

This is why I say it as I see it regardless of whose Ox is gored. Naturally, sentimental folks, and such are many on Nairaland , will hate me immensely and try to undermine my credibility or purpose here because the worthless leaders they support clannishly, like GEJ, are the target of my criticism. Nothing I have not been called here or accused of. From people saying Aregbesola is my Uncle to some irritating poster claiming I was using APC funds to organise political meeting. They even say Tinubu is my direct paymaster. Aljharem even threatened to 'expose' my role as Fashola's agent and underground member of his government grin grin grin grin

Yet the fact is that there are few of my post you will not see suggested solutions and my own idea of a way forward. I don't claim to be right always but I will say that I remain about discussing ideas above anything else because the Buharis, GEJ, Tinubu et al Nigerians worship and fight over will depart the stage sooner or later. Issues must therefore remain about our nation and her progress. I don't know how some people remain unable to understand this year in and year out.

I didn't say Gbawe's posts I dug up proved that he didn't support GEH after he won, I was just amazed at how rightly he predicted the turn out of events and at the same time wondering why he suddenly abandoned his own prophecies. Gbawe boldly and correctly predicted in 2011 that GEJ's government will be sabotaged by the north through various means, but if you dare suggest that even in 2013 (just 2 years after the prediction) Gbawe will be the first to shout you down.
How often do you see a prophet disown his won prophecy just when it begins to manifest?
What could have been the reason for that?
He wrote something that struck me greatly..

Isn't that exactly how it turned out?
GEJ fights boko haram, he is termed anti-north by Buhari, accused of genocide by Nyako and dragged to ICC by northern elders for human rights abuse.
GEJ pampers boko haram, he is called weak and clueless by the same people.
This is what Gbawe rightly predicted, but if you dare suggest it today he will be the first to vehemently shout you down.
Doesn't anyone else find it strange?
My guy, stop this show of dishonesty. I always say what I mean and mean what I say. What prophecies have I abandoned? Of course the Northern hawks , specifically from the PDP, helped to bring GEJ down as I predicted. They never stopped undermining and betraying him as I predicted would be the case. Yet if you look at my past post you will discern a pragmatic approach based on the reality of Nigeria. I warned that GEJ must shun the hawks and "born to rule" from the North who did nothing for him in his time of need. He must not appease those elements because you can never please those sort. They are like our own Adedibu in the SW i.e oppressive-minded throwbacks who love controlling Nigeria and her wealth/lofty positions while they remain unable to compromise and totally disinterested in deferring to the democratic authority of others.

I stated unequivocally that Jonathan should embrace and empower modern and progress-minded Northerners like Col.Umar, Nuhu Ribadu and even Buhari who spoke in defence of Jonathan's right to contest when the "born to rule" rose against him. I wonder what manner of mischievous obstinacy makes you oblivious to the aspect of my posts where I suggested solutions GEJ must embrace only for you to be focusing on "prophecies" alone.

I know Nigeria well and I never deceive myself. I am not a sentimental person by nature and believe in working with the reality of things. Did I ever tell you or anyone else the North is full of angels? Have I claimed such of the SW either? It is others who glorify in touting themselves "holier than thou" and better than others so I always leave them to their delusion whereas the reality is that all regions have good and bad eggs that must be empowered and neutralised respectively.

My consistent argument is that Nigeria will develop if we make the North about the Ribadus, the El-Rufai, the Buharis, the Tambuwals, the Col.Umar et al. In short the right Northerners. Likewise I have stated that the SW will be a great deal better if the region rejected the Alao-Akalas, the Adedibus, the Obanikoros et al to embrace their Fasholas, their Amosuns, their Ajimobi et al. When we warned GEJ to take cognisance of this very important rule did he acquiesce? No !!! Big NO !!!! GEJ went about empowering the wrong sort of Northerners, South easterners, South Southerner and South Westerners !!!! In the SW GEJ was all about the Obanikoros, the Fayoses, the Adesiyans, the Teslim Folarins, the Omisores et al. In short GEJ supported and uplifted cads. He did the same throughout Nigeria and could not even spare his own region of origin where former illiterate killers and militant bosses were transformed into billionaires. Yet you are here trying indict Gbawe of hypocrisy which only exists in your imagination. Fact is that I predicted what would happen and stated how GEJ could avoid such to make his Presidency a success. Blame GEJ for doing the opposite of what was required and stop this childish obsession with trying to 'trip me up'.

I know most of these peeps are hungry and jobless psychopant, how can you be jobless and still support that government blindly while cursing anyone that dare disagree with you. I just dont understand them, may God help them.
I don't doubt this at all. I remember telling off one penniless fool who comes here daily to shout "GEJ till 2085" yet confessed he could not afford browsing credit and was reduced to using the internet at work to watch video contents. See the life of these poverty-destroyed rats who still continue to praise their oppressors?

All of them are now like FFK. Give them tasty fried chicken or Tantaliser take-away and "they will sing and dance for you" all night never mind that tomorrow they are still going to be jobless and drinking garri three times a day. Poverty na bastard sha .

You are in Nigeria and still wishing your government evil, who go suffer? Ahahahaha.
grin grin grin grin For real? These guys are jokers. The APC is the real deal. Buhari and Osinbajo are a knock-out combo. I think the real fear of these guys is that they went for broke with GEJ, who will now go down in history as a horrid misruler and weak leader, while it is those from ethnic groups they despise immensely who may actually succeed in leading Nigeria into an age of progress and aggressive socio-economic development. I don't envy them sha. Totally stuck in limbo as 'prisoners' dominated by their hatred and bad belle for others to the extent they are now left with hoping Buhari and the APC fail to justify their support of GEJ. Pathetic.

They can be bitter for all most of us care, after all, bitterness has been part and parcel of their daily lives since time immemorial. Their perpetual companion.

The kind of nasty hate campaign they preferred against the General in the last months leading up to the defeat of their principal at the poll pitched them against well meaning Nigerians. It was the most scandalous mode of politicking we've ever witnessed in the country that saw decorum relegated to the back stage while vile personal attacks assumed a life form with them.

We all expected reason and common sense to prevail after the elections had been won and lost so much so that I even edited my siggy to reflect same (which is still standing), but Noooo, there is no such thing called common sense in the lexicon of PDP and her supporters! They just couldn't wait for the Gentleman to even assume the position before their tongues, or do I say fingers, start wagging.

So in the spirit of fairness, we have chosen to respond to them in equal measure. When they make up their minds to become reasonable and act like human beings, we'd pretend to believe they've indeed seen the light and act likewise. But in the meantime, I say it is a fist for a fist and a slug for a slug.

Na dem go tire.
GEJ and PDP fans, after the PDP lost the Presidential election, have unravelled as very wicked, vengeful, unpatriotic and evil enemies of Nigeria's progress. All they know is to insultingly join issues with other posters while never suggesting anything positive or progressive that can move Nigeria forward. Look at the chap who brought up my old posts, which predicted how Jonathan will fail, to discredit me. Yet he conveniently pretended not to see the part where, alongside my prediction of the problems GEJ would face, I suggested how Mr.President could prevent those problems ruining his Presidency.

Did GEJ do a single thing he was asked to do by progress-minded Nigerians? Big NO !!! Yet his fans can only attempt to discredit others while they fail to acknowledge that Jonathan brought himself down by leading for the elites and those who did not mean well for him while he turned his back on Nigerians as some of us warned he must never do. To be honest, I am really tired of GEJ/PDP fans and wish most can take up Afghanistan citizenship because they are really not useful to Nigeria.

Old Gbawe, is a Bladdi HYPOCRITE. His is very well known for this attribute here since 2006. Your archaeological work just proved it again.

This 'prophecy' as cold as it is, was the plan all along, and unfortunately came to fuition.
Taharqa, when are you going to grow up? Did I not suggest what may happen to Jonathan and how he should avoid such happening? Yet you insult me because GEJ deliberately chose to go against what those genuinely interested in his success suggested he did. Did GEJ not focus on appeasing those trying to bring him down while he ignored leading for ordinary Nigerians? You have been here long enough. You saw, as one example, where I implored GEJ to go after and destroy the scam aspect of the fuel subsidy instead of punishing suffering Nigerians with torturous subsidy removal.

You guys will never see that. you will never note we offered solutions, alongside our criticism, which GEJ chose to ignore. Instead you will come here with your insult after GEJ destroyed his own Presidency leading for the elites, the corrupt, the AGIPs, the political jobbers and those plotting against him while he spurned ordinary Nigerians. I pity you. I will continue hoping you will grow up one day and reject the empty stubbornness that makes you blind to reason always. Do you not see below where, unlike you and others are unwilling to do for Buhari, I gave GEJ the benefit of the doubt and decided to see his cabinet appointment before judging the 'tone' of his Presidency? Some of you guys are just incorrigible.

My advice to GEJ is that he must ditch his "all things to all men" style . He must refrain from trying to pacify everyone with important and influential office to recognise that it is strong men in strong institutions who can make his Presidency a success . Men like Col. Umar should be brought in while the likes of Anenih must go . Interestingly , Umar, so far, is the only prominent Northerner who has come out to praise the election and appeal for calm.

GEJ must embrace merit as his employment mantra. Do what is right and everyone will get behind him quickly against the troublemakers and "born to rule" agitators . Lead for Nigerians and no one else . We saw how many in the North maintained a "damned if you do damned if you don't " relationship with OBJ . It is likely to be worse for GEJ . He cannot pacify folks , as he has done so far in the past , for 4 years . that will mean nothing is achieved. It was extremely disappointing to see GEJ , after brave men took to the street for him , returning to the status quo with how he deployed mediocrity everywhere . Femi Falana , for example , did everything . He marched he sued he talked and he shouted . I will watch GEJ's appointment after May . If I don't see someone like Umar as head of EFCC or Femi Falana as AGF/Minister of justice then I know we are in for more "business as usual" leadership. I suspect that is all GEJ is capable of but I will be happy to be proven wrong.

The hypocrisy is that you no longer believe in the existence of ''born to rule'', you will not agree that the north sabotaged GEJ's govt anymore, since your people are now in alliance with them..
Go and read my postings back then comprehensively to know I am no hypocrite. I stated it clearly who the "born to rule" are and still believe they remain the same till today. They are the likes of Ciroma, Atiku, Yakassai et al who insisted Jonathan must hand over to the North. I never included Buhari and Ribadu in that category.

In fact, since you are talented digging up old posts, I challenge you to look further into the archives to see I stated that Buhari, while "born to rule" Northerners sought to disqualify GEJ from running in 2011, spoke up to say Jonathan is constitutionally allowed to run for the Presidency. Do you know what that action from Buhari means and the personal integrity the man had to take such a stance at a time even Governor Lamido was foaming at the mouth against "dishonourable" GEJ running "on the slot of the North"? I am motivated by the progress of Nigeria. This means that I am consistent in utterance and thinking because I understand that players come and go yet the game remains.

I just took a look at some of these guys previous posts to see their reactions prior to and after the 2011 elections.
I found some prophecies!

April 15 2011

I know the OP out of hypocrisy wouldn't agree with the bold part today, but men, how true did that turn out?
If you are honest with yourself, you will see all I advised GEJ not to do, because it would be detrimental to his Presidency, is al he was interested in doing. Everything I suggested he does, revolving mainly around leading for ordinary Nigerians and getting them on his side, he rejected. Amosun survived and overcame a vicious political gang-up because he delivered for the ordinary people and they did not abandon him in his time of need. Did GEJ do that despite being a very lucky chap placed far above his station?

Did GEJ even show gratitude or lend a listening ear to all who agitated to get him sworn in when Turai Yar Adua hijacked the Presidency? What Nairaland can see with these post is proof I am totally about the progress of Nigeria to the extent I gave commonsensical advice to a President I did not believe in yet wanted to succeed for the sake of my Country. Perhaps you and others can learn from that i.e focusing on what matters most , which is the progress of Nigeria, rather than obsessing about individual leaders who come and go while Nigeria still remains.

Do you not see how I warned GEJ that he should not think his "divine emergence" is enough and he must match that with integrity, utmost bravery and unflinching political will before Nigerians start seeing through him thus losing him goodwill and destroying the whole 'goodluck' divinity Nigerians were obsessed with back then? Jonathan would have probably had a better Presidency shunning the Okupes and Omokris of the world to listen to the commonsense advice from ordinary Nigerians he chose to turn his back on.

Those who want GEJ out will have been encouraged by his weak style , in the face of crisis ( both political and physical) aimed at appeasing everyone . "Divine" emergence that is not matched by integrity , utmost bravery and unflinching political will can only get you so far before people begin to see through you . We enter an unpredictable dawn from tomorrow . I was gracious enough to wait patiently to be proven right about Yar Adua . I am certain GEJ is another Yar Adua or worse. If he gains another 4 years , then I hope , for the sake of the suffering masses , I am wrong about him. Nothing is personal for me . It is all about the progress and greatness of Nigeria.

The Gbawe guy out of hypocrisy will not agree with this today, but he was damn right.

What a prophet!
barcanista see my last 2 posts.
Please what "hypocrisy" are you talking about? Even these posts you dug up shows I was entirely honest when I say I got behind GEJ and wished him well and even gave advice on how I thought he could succeed despite not supporting his candidacy. I even gave my own little contribution as per what I felt GEJ must do, given that he had offended so many and needed to get Nigerians on his side. Go on confess to us whether GEJ led Nigeria for ordinary Nigerians or if he made his Presidency about abetting the "born to rule " elements from the North in his own Party who vowed to make life difficult for him as I warned he must not do. Amosun has just shown that if you get the ordinary man behind you then you stand a chance of overcoming.

I am glad you dug these posts up so Nairalanders can see I predicted it would not be easy for GEJ yet suggested precisely what I felt he shoud do to succeed. Non of which GEJ did to the point I can now say "the rest is history". If only haters of Buhari, if they have the progress of Nigeria in mind as I did, can take an example from my post below and offer their honest and heartfelt advice to the President-elect instead of only announcing he will fail. At least I mentioned what I thought GEJ should do. He did not do those things so I stand vindicated when I say GEJ squandered the goodwill many, including those who did not support him in 2011, g=had for him after he won the general election.

My advice to GEJ is that he must ditch his "all things to all men" style . I remember when GEJ won the election in 2011, I did not support him but I really hoped that he proved me wrong. The progress of Nigeria was paramount on my mind. For Nigeria,I got behind Jonathan.

Buhari's win has not been met with the same kind of sportmanship. In fact, some GEJ fans are openly hoping for his failure. Some have gone as far as to wish him death. It is terrible to see the kind of hate that exists within these people.

If Buhari is successful, you are successful and we are all happy. For now, they should be given the benefit of the doubt.

They can be given constructive criticism when they take over.
Precisely what I have been saying also. Many of us initially got behind GEJ, for the sake of Nigeria, even if we doubted his ability to deliver. Should Nigerians, even for the sake of self-preservation, not wish Buhari succeeds? Well, let them keep hating. That will not prevent Buhari and other well-meaning Nigerians like Fashola et al working hard to make Nigeria a better country.
